  1. The P1sti and P1st2 video's always make me want to go out on the bike, but it would always mean hurting myself!!! If anyone is interested i tend to link all the vids i like off vimeo under one page ... http://vimeo.com/r2wtrials will give access to many good moto and biketrial vids.
  2. Looks lovely... What is the tensioner?... homemade? Any more info or close up shots of it.
  3. I use both a 74kingz and tensile... not at the same time obviously ... i prefer the 74kingz as it is will tucked out of the way and won't shag the hanger or frame if you land on it heavily. Only issue, as you said, is that they have been knocked on the head and i am using hacksaw blades as the spring. The tensile is very good and helps wrap the chain around the spocket better... it has more adjustability than the rohloff. It is the same as the koxx and various others, come out of the same far east factory!
  4. ... had a 3 hour ride in swindon this morning and love this frame already. I feel much more confident on it on the back wheel. ... will go for the white spray job and new graphics soon.
  5. I put the kingz on with a hacksaw blade spring... great but would like the priginal spring. Tarty Adam tells me they have been discontinued and no springs left in stock.
  6. Looks lovely.... Does it need the rear brake booster ... frame flex or v brake post flex?
  7. I have both a 74kingz and a tensile tensioner sitting on my bench and can't decide what to use... i like the 74 kingz style as it is tucked out of the way and landing on it doesn't wreck it or the frame. The tensile style has good tension and wraps the chain around the sprocket more but just seems like having the old style mech hanging on the side of the bike waiting to be clouted... especially with my lack of riding ability!! I did have a rohloff but they are not adjustable enough to fit my Echo rear hub set up. My ultimate would be the echo tensioner that fits around the hub shaft ... but sadly not the type i have. What are your choices and why? p.s. Anyone got any new 74kingz springs they no longer need
  8. no... Ben Johnsons. No dents or cracks and just a few rock scratches. As i have ridden with him for the last year i know how it has been ridden and i like the Meta's as they have gone for good strength and not bowed to the fashion of ultra lightness for the sake of it... I don't give a shit if it is 400g or whatever heavier. I know they test their products for a long time and won't release them until proved reliable.... not heard of too many breaking, if any, under normal use. And i won't be doing huge stuff that is for sure
  9. I was after trying a higher BB than my old Pure so i have brought this... A Meta VTT frame. I added my existing parts and had a quick hop... certainly comes up onto the rear wheel easier, very nearly had me on my arse first time!! after making sure that i like it, which i think i will, i may go for a white frame and copy the original graphics but in black...
  10. ... and the new riding wear designed to go with it.
  11. I think both look lovely!!! ... wouldn't buy either but i do like the black and gold scheme
  12. Full details... http://www.stealthrubber.com/story.php .. seems to load a bit slow though.
  13. I'm getting too old for all this!!!! ... went for another play today, 3rd in a week. This time just up the road in our local park. Ben Johnson and Robmitch with me this time. Gallery of us pissing around here.
  14. yes seen that... and had it on my site ages ago but still none of him riding... i spoke to him yesterday via facebook and he says "i keep a low profile when out on the cycle"
  15. You may be referring to Alexz Wiggs Team bike... he has been seen out on it, but sadly no photos yet
  16. I was, and am to a point, in that same position. But the one thing that helped no end was getting a bar and stem combo that felt comfortable when up on the back wheel. If you watch the good riders they are on the back wheel very relaxed and don't have to put much effort into keeping the front up on the balance point... although much of this is from good technique they also have a bar/stem that allows the bike to sit neutral when up. After much pissing around and about 5 stems and almost as many bars i have now settled on a combo that suits my frame and me. No idea what bike you have but may be worth trying a few hops on your riding mates bikes and see if any feel much easier on the back wheel and see what set-up they have. I also found changing from an old Hope XC rear hub with about 24 ratchet points to a 72 Echo front freewheel gave me more control.... less take up needed to make small hops for correction or going across gaps.

    New Cls!

.... but it couldn't have done any harm to have a bit of a tease could it
  19. As a matter of interest, what is the set-up for the UK riders that may be in Australia next week. Assuming there are any?
  20. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/ ... the main shop for everything trials related. Give them a call on Tuesday.
  21. No idea on the people... but you won't run out of local play areas that is for sure.
  22. Cheers... i was considering going to white but may save that for another frame. Quick one from yesterday, resting in Cheddar Gorge.
  23. One was right up the top of the highest cliff face yesterday and just sat on the edge watching us for about 2 hours!! You also get climbers up on the face so just move a little to the side of them as they can dislodge the odd rock, or fall on you!! I think one of my pictures has them in.
  24. Once you park up you go up about a 6 foot bank into that bit at the bottom where you can see the little rocks scattered... then you look up and there is the cliff face with all the fallen rocks laying up where that picture above was taken... unlimited sections up there. Listen for falling rocks as the mountain goats have a habit of dislodging stuff above and it tumbles into that area Must warn you though... don't bother if it is wet, the rocks are like glass. But they dry quickly.
