  1. Well I was running dual hope mono trials, but due the gash design of the Echo rear disc hub, my rear rotor was a hair width away from the frame and even to get it into this position I had to run the rear wheel at a stupid angle. My brakes gradually deteriorated in strength/power, until I then bent my disc so enough was enough. Was going to go rear Vee and keep the front disc but the vee mounts didn't clear the rear tyre, so spontaneously decided upon front vee, and went for a rear magura. Also shaved a bit of weight by changing from the kenda DH tube to a normal rear tube, going to go for a new wheelset sometime this year to save some more but its not a priority. Brake pads are Plazmatic CRV's up front, and Heatsink Yellows on the rear. Video in the coming months. Cheers,
  2. Sorted! cheers chaps. I'm running reverse mounted Echo's anyway, so the noodle didn't really matter. All done and set-up, been ages since I've run a front rim brake!
  3. www.flashkit.com Free royalty free sound loops if you get really stuck. (although I assume you'll have usage of Garageband/Soundtrack). Might be worth trying out Dan Clark on here, he has produced a few pieces for my film work at college, meeting my specified criteria exactly. And if you didn't want to much hassle I assume he must have some rough work that you could use.
  4. This question probably has a real simple answer, but to cut a long story short, I have a set of rear sd7 arms which don't clear the tyre on my mod. I'm tempted to put them on the front as they will probably clear the front tyre, but what actually makes them front or rear?
  5. Thread lock if its blue from the red tube. Bearing lock if its red from the red tube. (stronger of the two)
  6. GT85 however.... I had this problem when I twated my rotor and bend it, in one place one of the pistons has to travel very far, so as a result it went out and got momentarity stuck. Your pistons may need reseating, always worth checking around the calliper end too.
  7. Well for us left footers! Benito Ros Danny MacAskill Michal Nowak Neil Tunnicliffe Rowan Johns Thats all I can think of for now.
  8. One of my fondest memories was being kicked off a wall at the local church by the old lady who manages it. However she pulled up in the her, windows all done up, pointing and mouthing at us to move. My mate walks up to the car looks at her and listens to her and interprets her in his own way. Old lady: mouthing "Get off here" whilst pointing at the wall and ground. Mate: "Park here? Why its double yellow lines, you can't do that you'll get a ticket!" Old lady: Still mouthing and pointing out the back of her car (denoting we should move on) Mate: "What? you want me to get in the boot? I don't think that is appropriate for the situation madam!" Another favourite was the time some old charity man stopped us on our bikes and exclaimed: "STOP!, the pavement is for people!", to which we then looked at ourselves in silence as though we weren't human.
  9. That's awesome, always wanted to go there fascinated by the place, and of course no-one to kick you off!
  10. Going by that, I seem to contradict what has been posted. I'm left foot forward bike, and goofy on board.
  11. Windows Movie Maker? Just keep the cuts/transitions basic and you really can't go wrong.
  12. Nothing to it really, its a 50/50 probability of being left or right foot forward (obviously). Even people who don't ride trials, such as general cyclists will favour a comfortable foot forward, just something that everyone starts as a habit and then eventually leads into this. Cross your arms.... which arm is on top? Everyone has their favoured arm through habit. I love how it is such a simple divide to everyone's personal riding habits, but if we were all forced to change foot then trials riding would be near impossible.
  13. I was just checking the internet earlier for this video, I was pretty sure it was on the net somewhere but can't find no trace of it. Basically it was one on of the MBUK dvds, he is riding his Ashton Justice, and right at the beginning he tries manualling down a sloped rail but his rear wheel is placed a little bit too far to the right and he falls off. Anyone know the one I'm on about?
  14. Was thinking about this the other day how the design hasn't changed much in years. Not too bad I suppose, 2 bolt lever clamp is much better!
  15. Probably best to hit up ObservedTrials.net, more world wide so I'd imagine there'd be more chance there.
  16. You want to make sure that your riding and editing style fits the pace of the music. If its a smooth, relaxed riding style, long clips and not many cuts then go for a light pace song, that emphasises this style. If you really just want to show lots of gaps, sidehops etc in a short space, so having shot clips and lots of quick cutting, then something with a bit more pace to it works. Just try and pick a song that most people will like, some of the best videos or even your favourite videos will be the ones with music that you enjoy, so picking a music taste that everyone will groove along to will make your video more popular.
  17. Not necessarily, I've had many Magura set-ups that have made plenty of noise but have no hold what so ever. Best thing to do is either use a booster as already mentioned, but in some cases I have found that this can make your brake not so good at holding (generally frames which have an in built booster so this shouldn't be a problem for you). Other option is to adjust the slave cylinders so your pads have a bit of tow to them, so when you pull the brake lightly, the front of the pad contacts the rim first and then the back eventually contacts when the lever is pulled all the way in. But in the long run this will wear your pads on the slant and make setting up all the more harder, so best thing you can do is bear with the noise, or just listen to your iPod when you ride.
  18. I started off on internet boards as THutley (Tom Hutley) so I always assumed it was pronounced Tee Hutley. My mate thought it was one word and pronounced "futley" so then thutley was born. Changed it to fugley as that is what a couple of local riders used to call me. Then went to Albino Slig, as I am a huge fan of the Abe's Odyssey games, and Albino Slig was a game which was planned but never released. And now I'm with Captain Scarlet, again big Gerry Anderson fan and Captain Scarlet was such a cool guy! However since the self username changing option got removed, I'm now stuck with this username.
  19. Looks like I'm going straight for the Heatsink Vee daptors, just emailed Steve to find out when the next batch is ready for sale. Completely forgot about Heatsink, Cheers Samuel!
  20. So just gone to set-up my Vee brake earlier (with Onza V daptors as I'm running 4 bolts obviously on my Limey 320) Put it all together and no matter which offset hole \I use on the V-daptors, the brake cable is always contacting the tyre (whether the lever is pulled or not). Now my only solution I can see to this is to push my wheel as far backwards as possible, which would mean employing the work of a halflink (boo) but is there something else that I can do that I am blatantly missing? or has anyone else had this problem?
  21. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_parties_in_the_United_Kingdom Official Monster Raving Loony Party for me! Some proposals/policies.
  22. Or Helicoil the thread? Through a local engineer mine worked out cheaper to helicoil than to buy jubilee clips.
  23. Halfords and an independent Cyclelife. Love working at the independent one so much more, no corporate rubbish to follow by, and I can work very efficiently because of it.
  24. That video was terrible, there looked like there was some awesome lines and moves going down there, but with no sound, terrible track and stupidly fast cuts it looks crap. I now have a headache. Aspect ratio doesn't look right either.
