  1. Matt your a F***ing TOOL. You dont even come out and ride so what are you on about "im tired of leaking from my shins" you probably havent done that for 6years because you dont ride your full of crap. I bet you still havent got any new cranks yet since you broke your last one cos you didnt do the pedals up properly when you first got it. Stop asking all these "How much, What ones, Where from, Can someone do it for me" questions because your not going to get them or even if you do your not gonna come ridding and use them.

    Autosol

If you want slightly abrasive qualitys like to get brushed ali to a chrome shine use autosol I use it on my SS exhaust but thats only because it is cover in carbon fumes so the abrasive helps alot. But if you just want to keep some ali thats already shiney shine then you want some mothers ali and mag polish it has no abrasive qualities and just shines any ali up instantly, I use it on my straight razors as Autosol will start to damage the blade if used frequently. Chris
  3. Yeah as said use some sparky tape. You can get it in all types of colours. I have a range of colours that we use at work, if you want some id happily send some to you if you give me your address but you can prob get most colours at halfords/B&Q or something. When I did my wheels i just went round the rim after I had laced it and used it so the smooth non sticky side is going through the holes in the rim, if you go round a couple of times it wil then stick to itself rather than your rim and you wont get all kinds of bits or crap and grit stuck to it like you would if you used the sticky side pointing out through the holes.

    No Vat On Bikes

Good ides but it will never happen not with our government. Yeah if you buy anything from outside the U.K. thats over a specific value a year (think its about £38 gift allowance per tax year) you have to pay about 4-5% import tax on the price of goods (they included the shipping cost in that to) then after thats added you pay the normal 17.5% VAT on the total. Its absolutely ridiculous thats why its rarely any cheaper to buy goods from america because it almost works out the same in pounds as it does dollars even with the $1.9 - £1 rate that is current. The only way to get around it is if you dont insure your goods or only insure them for like £10 because thats what they work it out against usually unless theres and invoice inside, then two weeks later you receive your $300 (£160) bent frame etc...
  5. Thanks everyone for the comments. Well i was thinking i might see if I can get hold of some custom blue ZOO stickers to replace the green ones then that will finish it off nicely. I also cant decide like someone said if I should get some Echo Urbans on there as there silver or maybe brush my control forks as I prefer the look and ride of the curved controls. Cheers Chris O yeah almost forgot someone asked where i lived, I live in Camberley which is near Woking and Guildford, Surrey.
  6. [attachmentid=8716] [attachmentid=8718] [attachmentid=8719] [attachmentid=8720] [attachmentid=8721] [attachmentid=8723] Thought id treat myself to a few bits but got carried away and bought everything new spare the cranks and headset. Rough spec as follows: *Zoo Pitbull '07 long *Front '07 Hope Mini Mono Trials 180mm (which i must add so much detail goes into these things) *Rear Magura Hss33 Silver *Front Echo '07 silver rim on Blue Hope Pro II Trials hub *Rear Echo '07 silver rim on Blue Hope Pro II Trials nub *Zoo silver bars *Hope stem *Middlesburn RS7 Superpro Trials square taper *Zoo blue 4-bolt clamps *Maxxis High Roller 2.5 rear and 2.3 front tires My fave part is the rims, I got some blue sparky tape from work and rapped it round the rim before putting on the rim tape so that it would be blue through the holes instead of black, which I think finishes the bike off very well.
  7. Hey Hey nothing wrong with Orange zero's haha. I have still got mine at home its soo short, like 1025 wheelbase. I remember a guy who lived near me had a bright orange Crescent I thought he was the nuts just because he had one. I also remember before the DMR ringthing craze buying two 32t chainrings and angle grinding the teeth off of them then bolting them together to make a bash guard haha good times. Also when my best mate snapped his ballistic suspension forks dropping off a curb, and when i got my 281 RST forks and everyone hated me because I had elastomers instead of just air like the 181's everyone had. Oh yeah last one, my mates kona chute in chrome and yellow.
  8. Yeah its what the others said pain but hey it happens. I normally get this when im transporting my bike around in my car so I cut the end off a plastic filler spreader, the kind you use to fill holes in walls with polyfiller. Its about the same thickness as a disc and i just put that in between the pads when I have my wheel out so this doesn't happen, because lets be honest those little clips that hold the pad retainer pin in are a bi*ch to fiddle around with. Then i just store it down the side of my chainstay protector thing between it and the frame so its always with my bike when i need it. Cheers Chris.
  9. Cheers for the help guys. Anyone want to add anything about the Control. I currently run a Orange Zero at the moment and I just measured it and the wheelbase is 1025 which is soo small thats like mod short. As I have never really gotten along with this frame since new because it feels strange due to the odd geometry this is the reason for wanting a new one (plus other advantages like 4-bolt mounts etc...). I Say in my first post that i will probably get the short this is only because of how short my current frame is that I didn't want to jump in size too much in case it through me off balance completely. However it does seem that the geometry of the long ZOO Pitbull is almost Exactly the same as the Control. So what i was now wondering is what are the advantages/disadvantages of having a long frame. Thanks. Chris.
  10. Hi there all just joined and was after some help from other riders experience. I am just getting back into trials riding after five years out and I want to get a new frame, but things have changed so much since I was riding and there are so many more trials specific manufacturers around that I feel a bit out of touch. Which brings me here to seek advice. The two frames that I have been looking at are the Zoo Pitbull '07 and the Echo Control '07, now they both have a similar geometry from the looks of things (will probably get the shorter models) but i prefer the look of the Zoo and the geometry of the Echo but theres not much in it. Now from experience with both bikes would anybody have any views or opinions on which might be better, stronger or nicer to ride as I have not ridden either of the two and do not really want to go out and waste £300. Even better would be if some one knows of some where they keep these bikes pre-built so I can ride them both to decided myself. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you. Chris P.S: Any riders around the Guildford, Woking , Camberly and Reading area would be great to hear from you as meeting some new people to ride with would be good. Cheers.
