  1. yehh , thats what i currently have on it :D

a little update people, the car is complete, running and roadworthy, apart from the rear bumper!

need to weld on some new mounts and find a new rear bumper !

How long til it's back on the road Williom?

I've got an awesome car related surprise for you! I'll post up some pics at the weekend :D

  2. I wish. I've seen some that increase 900%. It's just knowing they're gonna go up before they do is the hard part.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing eh?

To be honest, if you can afford to keep your money in the shares you will make your money back. Might just take a couple of years :P I wish i'd bought RBS shares when they were down at 60p back in Nov/Dec, I know of a guy that bought £10,000 worth, then sold them a few hours later for £20,000.

  3. yeah i will be tracking it alot this year, just need to get some cash together!

first trackday will be in febuary at bedford autodrome to test the cars capabilities in a safer place, then onto brands etc!

loving the rallyeee :) have to took it down the 1/4 mile or on track before,

i just got a camera for christmas so will be puttign that to good use on the tracks! going to mount it on my cage

also ive got to add another silencer to the exhaust as i think it might be to loud still. hehe

Yup, that's my plan too. I was thinking of Bedford for my first proper outing but a load of Rallye Register guys are doing Brands. I've done a few laps of the Ring and a couple of show track sessions, oh and a Dutch trackday, but that was just madness! I need to take a trip to Pod methinks!

  4. bank transfer fella, easy, fast, cheap (no charge!), safe...

although it can take upto 5 days if i remember rightly!

what i used to do is go into the bank with money and their bank details in hand and do the transfer.

I just sold something about half an hour ago, and the guy paid via bank transfer. The money showed up ten minutes later in my account, amazing! I think i'll go with bank transfer, Paypal will rape me with charges and you can't send money to an individual via credit card can you? I'd have to ask mum nicely if you can anyway as I don't have one.

  5. Evening chaps,

I'm needing to send a fairly hefty chunk of money to an individual for some car parts, he's a respected and well known member of the forum in question but i'm still wondering if there is any way I can send it that will give me some peace of mind? At the moment my options are Cheque or Bank Transfer. I will of course do the usual and get an email address, real address and phone number. Oh and paypal is out of the question as the charges will be monumental.

    Cheers!

  6. What can you realistically drop into a 205? might have a 1.1 coming my way and i would like a fun project.

There is the obvious choices of 1.6/9 gti engine or a gti6 (a difficult conversion i hear?) what else is worthwhile fitting?

Obvious ones are 1.6 and 1.9 gti engines. The MI16 engine is probably the most documented and easiest non 205 engine transplant, the gti6 seems to be getting more and more popular though. You can also drop in a 1.6 16v from that gti up above, but why bother when you can have 160 brake and the best induction noise this side of ITB's! Have a look on 205 drivers, all the conversions will be on there.

  7. clean your wheels :P cars looking great ill bosh some pics of mine up soon enough, wont have the cage painted or welded in yet though.

Sssh you! You would be proud of me, I spent all day Monday painting a friends car Matt Camo green. :D There's something strange about painting a car with a roller :S

  8. Well i've got a peice of shit vtr now and i had a 106 gti for about a month. I liked the gti felt like a proper little race car, handled well and was pretty quick this also meant it was a rattley, loud, tempremental, unreliable and expensive to run so it had to go. I got the vtr instead and so far i've gone through 3 wheels, 1 stub axle, 1 clutch release bearing, 1 lower arm and front discs. In the space of about 2 months so yeah it's gonna go aswell. i'm starting to properly hate french cars. although i think i'm about to invest in a 1.6 205 gti so hopefully that will change my mind again

If you want trouble free motoring you don't want a 205 :D It will be even more rattley, loud, tempremental and unreliable than the 106! Will be great fun though!

  9. There's not as such, the car thread is kind of one but not make/model specific. A nice break from specific car forums for me :) I guess you too are looking elsewhere now that the 106OC is paid members only?

Edit: You could make a French car thread like there is a VW/Mini one? I tried that years ago but it died, loads more French car around here now though.

  10. You might want to move your harness straps so they're outside the headrest leg thingys, if you crash your head might fall off otherwise! Apparently anyway. The bike carbs must make an awesome noise, one of my friends bought an old scholl Audi 80 with bike carbs, it sounded like a plane on takeoff!
