  1. Evening chaps,

I've inherited my mums laptop and I want to get it running how it used to. What can I do to get rid of the slugishness without going so far as to completly wipe and reinstall Windows? Both hard disks have at least 2 Gb of space. I'm running Norton, Adaware and Spybot as we speak to get rid of any unwanteds. Currently there are about 53 processes running which I think is far too many, i've used hijack this to give me a list of everything thats happening but I don't know enough to do anything with this info.

    Help!

  2. Go for it, remember though the key rule of investing, only put in what you can afford to lose. I was tempted a while ago when RPS plummetted but I don't have the spare cash. A friend of mine took out a graduate loan and rinsed his interest free overdraft to put into RBS shares before the bailout was announced.

  3. Keep telling yourself that Ben ;)

I've heard that Matt Black paint adds at least another 50bhp....

Hmm I need to finalise my engine plans, need something fruity for the Inaugral T-F RWYB day :D (I don't know why I keep adding inaugral, but it sounds good :P)

  4. ive just got in, broke down :( had some matt black in the glove box so i was alright in the end :)

Hahahahahaha! What happened dude? I'm sure what ever the problem is i'm sure throttle bodies can fix it :D

Oh and it was indeed a great meet, nice to meet you all and see some awesome cars. :)

  5. Win :) See you all sunday. Anybody eating at the pub? I believe we are so anybodys more then welcome to join us.

    EDIT:

Apart from Boumsong, he eats like a horse.

Hahaha! I'll probably eat. Oh and i've no idea where this place is, i'm counting on you guys!

  6. See you all there ;)

Pm'd you Steve with my mobile number incase we are late etc, you to, Tipsy. Would be awesome if you could reply so I know who's who etc. Just need to wash the mini now an I'm all set, minus a tank of petrol

Just replied buddy, Still planning on 12.30 at Northampton southbound services?

  7. By J8 of the M1 do you mean the A1/M ? (You being in Hemel Hempstead and all...)

I think your a bit to far up from me to be honest, I'm heading from Basingstoke to Wantage then up the A34 and going to Buckingham and across.

    Nope I mean J8 of the M1. :P

    As will I ;)

    Me too!

I've not touched the Rallye for the very reason that if I do i'll break it and then not be able to come lol.

  8. Anybody coming up from south and fancy convoying' it ?

I am, I'm setting off from Junction 8 of the M1. I was planning on going up past MK and meeting up with Steve and Tom etc and then heading back down the the pub with them.

  9. Looks like we'll get to see who is best in the twisties (well ish as the A5 isn't all that twisty). Will be fun to have a nice convoy though :)

Hmmm, not sure i'm going to like the answer to that question lol

Annual? Every other month or so would be awesome. Speccially like runs to the coast or something

Yup, sounds good to me! As much as I love Rallyes it's good to see other cars and talk about something different every now and then lol

  10. It's up to you guys, we can discuss the options when we meet at the services. Needless to say the A5 will be a lot more enjoyable than just cruising down the M1 :)

12.300 at Northampton services you say? I meet you there too, only another junction or two and the A5 is always fun!

  11. Unfortunately, looks like I'll be missing this.

    Banned. :(

    That's it, get your coats!

Certainly can dude. I hope you hav a Satnav :P At the minute...I've got some slate with directions chalked onto it :P

Mr.Beendeeleeeheehaa is heading down from our end as well, no doubt he'll join up en route somewhere.

If this goes well, T-F Lands end - John O Groats anyone? :P

Rallye register have already done that, without using Motorways or dual carriage ways right?

  12. I think part of the reason they are stepping in is to bail themselves out. Local councils etc were told to maximise their funds by using high interest accounts by central govt. So to an extent they were simply carrying that out. I think the effect would be worse for us if they weren't bailed out. On the surface you think that it doesn't effect you, but it will. How do you think the councils will recoup those losses? Up goes council tax and down gos council spending. I'm still amazed that they had that amount of money to invest.

  13. I kinda like the "commitment" thats occuring here...We're all driving 100 + miles, to a pub carpark, from all ends of the country, to meet people who we've only (probably) ever spoken to over the internet :P

    CAR LOVE

Sad little bunch aren't we? lol
