i new that freewheels did it a bit. just not this much....... now that i have been to the bike shop i know for sure its just the freewheel. i was worrying about having to buy another frame when iv only had this one for a bit. thanks for all your help guys.... no more freewheels for me. had enough of them...... im going to go profile. cheers. x

its just a fact of some freewheels are worse than others. simple as that i guess. nah, it seems ok. chain doesnt come off or anything. dono if a real slack chain affects riding really.

just went down to the local bike shop and apparently its just a sort of freak freewheel. they all do it to some degree just some are just randomly worse than others.... something to do with it not quite being centered... nothing i can do to be honest........ dont think tarty will take it back so ill just use it.

im a student at the moment getting btec and nvq's and shit for outdoor pursuits... in summer and hols i work for companys like pgl,this summer hopefully im going abroad as a ski rep. i get payed for kayaking and canoeing, snowboarding, climbing............ i love life.

i ride trials mainly, but i climb, surf, white water kayak, canoe occasionaly....... you see im an instructor in them so i get to do it as i teach it . ahahaha. living the dream. lol

my first bike was a pretty well speced onza t lite which i got off ebay for £250...... just wack trials into the search function on ebay then click on the catorgory bicycles... ebay is best option mate.

it wasnt working for me either. what i did was go on the link he gave us.... then top right of all his vids theres an arrow saying most modifyed. click it then click on the video link again worked for me.

not that i noticed. it doesnt really show on vid but the chain tension always seems to be tight when the driveside crank arm is facing back. no matter where i put it on the splines.....

right vid is sorted now sooo any ideas??

i tryed the cranks in various positions and the chain still gets tight and loose when the cranks are in the same position..... does that mean that the freewheel has nothing to do with it and it is the bb?/??? the video should have uploaded soon so you can see for yourslf. ... i did have trouble with the bb when putting it in. at first i put it in and the spindle was off centre. this maybe why.

right. ok, i am well and truely confused, im thiniking that it could be the freewheel now. the teeth seem to move side to side. im going to go and film it, wack it on here for you lot to make your verdict. the bb looks fine.

yer thats exactly it....... however i have just had a look and i think the bb is slightly bent. the axle isnt in straight i did have some problems when putting the bb in so this is probably why. new bb then.

hmm, thats what i thought. its just that my tensile which i had on before this one didnt seem like that. i didnt notice it anyway... this is really noticeable. hmm.

ok, iv just bought one. had it about a week, iv noticed that the chain tension varys dramaticly with it. It goes from a good tight chain to a super loose one............ as far as i was aware, the tension was fine when i had my tensile freewheel. so what i want to know is has anyone else had this trouble with monty freewheels. if its not the freewheel then i guess its my bb. cheers. x
