Took Forks And Stem Off, Now Won't Go Back?!
mike-dyson replied to Olly's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I always thought you tightend the top cap before you tightend the stem bolts, as doesn't the top cap pushes the stem down and holds the headset together thightly? -
not bad joe

Then how do i get the nuts back on? Why will i be stuffed if i upgrade? I will put the spacers in if i get a new hub.

I like the seats on the astons justice bikes, it's just a bit of plasic to stop you slideing down the frame, it's light and realy near the rear wheel so there shouldnt be a problem with clearance. Or you can alwayssit on your tyre or your bars.

I'm gettin the frame for £30 with a head set brake mounts and a booster so im not to fussed about wreacking the frame, and if i want to run a 10mm axel i will just put the spacers in i got with my chain tugs so thats not a problem. I was just wundering if it was going to compleatly badger the frame.

Im thinkin of buy a tpro frame off someone i know and as far as i know the frame has 10mm rear dropouts but my wheel off my base has a14mm axle, so i was wondering if it would be ok to file the dropouts until it fits. It's only 2mm on the top and 2mm on the bottom so its not realy that much been taken off.

sorry to steal your thread but what size axle is it on the back?

There is a thread on here about ko bike which i searched on google and it came up with that site and i was just looking what they had, and what i was ment to say was why are they allowed to do this when people make such a big fuss about copyright and stuff like that?

Why do companys do cheap knock off bikes the sameas the top end ones? Don't companys patent thair designs so others cant copy Its evenn got a hole in the head tube like a kamel!! Theres this one aswell GU Typhoon? I just think its a shambles that companys like monty and gu put hundreds of pounds into designing these frames and then companys come along and steal thair designs!

That normally happens when your gloves are too big for you try the next size down, and if they feel a bit small they will strech too your hand. Also try some 2008 or 2009 661 gloves iv got some comps in extra large and they are so comfortable because they are a tiny bit small for me.

Whats the big deal with foam grips? my mate had some and i thought they felt awful and i cant see why poeple make such a fuss over them
-
I just use ma globes now and the soles on them are bald now and they work ok with my welgo cages witch the pins are bent over on but if you want some reli gripy shoes you want some fivetens they are so nice im quite suprised iv never seen any body in them on a trails bike the 661 shoes are nice aswel i used to own a pair just make sure you get the super taki ones rarther then the spd ones.

I used tony and guy hair spray and left it over night and i worked atreat i think its like £3 a can though from boots but its worth it and it dosent smell as strong as cheaper hair spray. but if all that fails you should use nial varnish that works, but what ever you use you need to give it time to set!

Would These Be Some Good Items For £80?
mike-dyson replied to matt-richardson's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
Defanatly, im gessing this is for a stock? then you find a whole bike dirt cheap put these parts on then change part as you get abetter rider and eventally you end up with a top end custom build i did in with a mongoose fire ball for dirt jump and now ive got a very nice transition vagrant, took me 3 years though. iv got a base t19 for trial and im doin the same with that -
and here is a pic nutral gear
-
That is a canny good idea, so could you put the slim jump bolts im v12s? Thats like the best of both worlds.
-
oh sorry
-
We all love bodgeing and making things. Lets see what youve done?

What i find with pedals like v8s and v12s were the pins screw down into the pedals is that if you use you pedal to help you get up hings or when you clip the edges of things it rips the pins out and rips the thread out of the pedal body so you cant put new pins in. im useing caged pedal at the moment, the spikes can get bent over but you can bend them back up with mole grips but this can weeken them so i think the best kind of pedal are ones like slim jims wich the pins screw in form the other side on the back pins (which are at the frount on the underneath) so thair is less chance of riping them out

i dont think its that nice it looks realy unfinshed and tacky but i do like the the echo cnc levers. whats with the sl levers they are nearly the same for the same price?!
