Fixed hubs had the freewheel on the cranks, where as free hubs have them on the back. But if you buy a freehub make sure its not a deng (echo adamant gu czar ect..) Any deng fixed hubs will be ok if you use a good freewheel I have a Zoo! wiht a monty free wheel on front. Hope i helped Dale.

I'd go for the forks since they have less chance of braking. Not that the neon mounts are bad, i used a set but they was a pain in the ass to try get right.
