  1. There are a few riders in Ireland. There are about 3 riders in Cork (including me), 3 or 4 in Dublin and 1 or 2 in Limerick. There is a good few from Northern Ireland as well. There's not a whole load in Donegal to be honest. Probably some nice natural stuff on the coast of Donegal. Best bet is that some of the NI group will answer. Try asking Jakers on here. I'd be up for it if I wasn't working and if Donegal wasn't 6 hours away! Sorry I've been absolutely no help! Steve
  2. Awesome man! Nah, bring the bike and mates! I'm no good at all at trials to be honest! But I still love it! Will be in touch closer the date. Steve
  3. Wheel is all built up and stress relieved. It is by no means perfect but I think It's pretty good for a first attempt (or third attempt at building the same wheel!) It is as goddamm true as I can get it and can't see any visible hops or lowspots in it. Thanks for all the info/advice. If you didn't live so far away Cormac, I'd have got you to build it! Would have saved me some hassle and there would lashings of jaffa caykes in it for you too! Thanks again lads, Steve
  4. Hey, Here she is, my first trials bike. Spec: '04 Echo Pure frame Echo 2007 rear rim on Shimano STX-RC hub and Intense 2.5 DH tyre (just built up and had a grind put on today!) Front Deep-V rim on Shimano hub and DMR Moto tyre Front + Rear maggies Onza T-Bird cranks Wellgo pedals Club Roost bars DMR tensioner Steel forks 24/7 stem Titanium seat and cut down seat post. Thanks to Jakers for the complete build, and thanks to thefletch, Dale-Hill and gr8grumble for a some of parts for it. Comments welcome! Cheers, Steve
  5. I disassembled it last night at just laced it up again a while ago. Followed Jon's guide that he linked. I've built it up 3 cross again and I think it's sorted but I've yet to rack up the tension. In 3 cross, do you go over the first two crosses and underlace the last? Or will it be ok without underlacing? Cheers, Steve
  6. Disassembled the hole thing earlier. Will try lacing it up using 4 cross tomorrow at work (Yes at work. There's nothing else to do). I used a mixture of the wiki and sheldon brown guide.....May have been my downfall. I'll let you know how I get on Cormac. Steve PS. I like the tablecloth too.
  7. Limewire is crap. Azureus + setting up portforwarding f t w. 80-100kps d/l and limit the u/l to maximise d/l rate. Takes a lot of fiddling around until you find right config for your ISP. Sorry I'm no help with your Limewire problem. Steve
  8. Started with six full turns. Then 2 by 3 full turns and then until the thread started to poke out of the nipple. Then proceeded to do just one full turn on each nipple around the rim. Each spoke/nipple is tightened the same amount but the non-drivesdide are about 60% tensioned and the non-driveside about 20%. Think it must be the spoke lengths...... Steve
  9. Yep. 258mm spokes on the drive side. Gonna try and loosen the driveside a little and tighten the non-driveside and see how that works out. Steve
  10. Hi, I've just spent the last three hours lacing up my new Echo rim. I ordered the rim and spokes from Tarty Bikes. I'm using my old hub from the last wheel. The problem I have is that after lacing it up and raking up the tension to about 60%, the hub isn't centered. I was very careful to put the same amount of turns on each nipple. When I look through the holes in the rim the driveside flange is centered in the hole and there is a major bulge out on the non-driveside spokes. The spoke lengths I got were 258mm for the driveside and 260mm for the non-driveside. Is this a problem with the spoke lengths? Should they be the same length? Or have I seriously messed up the wheel build (which I don't think I have). Would be grateful if anyone can give advice. I'll put up a pic of the wheel in the next few mins. Cheers, Steve
  11. Cheers Jake! Looking forward to seeing it! Steve
  12. Something maybe on CAD or Sketchup would be good. Like the measurements/spacing would be handy. But have a go off Paint if you like! Cheers mate Steve
  13. Cheers for the reply mate. To be honest it's just a test really. My friend will make me a couple for free and I really don't feel like buying one and paying postage to Ireland. Even if someone has a go at the bolt hole spacing and basic shape, it would be a great help! Cheers, Steve
  14. Hi, I said I would I would put this in here rather than in Trials Chat. I'm thinking of getting my mate to machine a 4 bolt booster for me. Just wondering has anyone had a go at designing their own booster? I would appreciate if someone handy at CAD or Sketchup would have a go at drawing one up. The best design will get their designed booster posted to them. My mate works in an engineering company, who specialise in custom brackets, pins and parts. My frame is a 2004 Echo Pure. Not sure what the spacing of the mounts are. Can get measurements if you want. Thanks in advance and looking forward to seeing the designs! Cheers, Steve
  15. Right lads, I just booked the flights. Flying to Glasgow Prestwick on Friday 29th of August. Staying in Glasgow Friday night if Rob will still have us (thank you kindly sir!). Maybe go out on the town Friday night. Ride Glasgow Saturday. Saturday evening me and my mate will head to Edinburgh. Boozy night in Edinburgh for the end of the Edinburgh festival! And ride Edinburgh on Sunday. We then will hang around Edinburgh until Tuesday. Flying home midday Tuesday the 2nd of September from Glasgow Prestwich. How does that sound? Cheers, Steve

  17. Got a random text tonight, ends up being a girl I used to work with 3 years ago! Meeting up with her tomorrow night for the laugh. Can't remember what she looks like though......could backfire on me....
