  1. That looks awesome! Love a ratty frame, bars wouldn't be my first choice though Here's my ratty steed. ^Running it raw at the mo, 1950's Carlton I have for an A-B bike and fitness mile eater.
  2. I'd think twice about changing a 700c fork for a 650 fork! BB height will drop and head angle will be steeper and as a result twitchy steering! As for where to buy a lo pro, no one makes 'true' lo pro's any more- 650 or 24" front and 700 rear...they were banned from competition in the late 80s/90s by the UCI... However you do still get frames with pursuit geometry- a bit more aggressive than normal track geo. Keep an eye out on ebay for lo pro time trial bikes, if you want to convert to fixed then it's worth getting a frame with semi-horizontal rather than vertical drop outs. And they are definitely not your everyday rider...the low front end and handle bar position isn't comfortable for prolonged periods of time! If you run one with bull horns, the position of the bars will be the equivalent of riding round everywhere on the drops of a roadie with drop bars. Oh, and the sizing can be a bit funny too...sizing can differ between builders! Oh and as for sites, keep an eye on lfgss . com Lo pro's come up for sale from time to time...

  10. Ah, so you have moved from the dark side . . . lol Easiest way is to use a single speed chain tensioner - http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=48 Take your mech off, and remove the gear shifter on you handle bar, also removing the cables of course. Fit the tensioner, you will also need to shorten the length of your chain to suit the gear you are wanting to use, try to keep the chain as straight as possible from the cassette to the front ring. Hope this helps

  14. Hello, and welcome to Trials-Forum! I used to ride at Adle woods too! Back in my dirt riding days, last time I went was about a couple of years ago, there's nothing trials-style to ride really, just some good sized dirt jumps - but they got demolished by the council, and I've heard they've been built up again. Trials on a 27" !? Are you crazy ?!
  15. Hi guys and gals, Im john, and been off the trials scene for about a year, decided to sell my echo control (page 7 of the bike sticky, posted under eletrokid; my old username, only did the one post, but im here to stay now, lol) as didnt think i'd use it at uni! but i cant control the cravings to ride again! Will have a new rig built up in the next few months, managed to get my mitts on a Pashley 26ghz frame, we'll see how it goes, and i'll keep you all updated when its finally built Thanks all ! banashapan (john)
  16. are you using a brake booster with it? similar problem i had on an old T-Rex frame i used to have, the magura would flex the seat stays outwards, thus, reducing how effectively the brake worked, the addition of a booster worked a treat. but this may not be the case with forks probably best to start off with a re-bleed and softer pads and see how you get on
