  1. Planet X straightblade rigids, the best forks ever!
  2. Go to any bike shop, or even a halfords and get a bike box from a half decentmake of bike, e.g. spesh, gt, etc... and use that, just pad your bike up a bit with bubble rap.

    16/11 Ratio?

True, but if you dremel out the stop at the ends of the spline grooves you have an 11t wide base sprocket.

    Chains

+ 1 I used a Taya chrome bmx chain (£6.99 from halfords) for 6 months with no problem, lasted three hubs actually. The only reason I changed in the end was a leak in my garage caused the chain to get some surface rust so I thought I might as well change it, just fitted a new one of them!
  5. It depends what you mean by comfertable. If you say you have them set up for streety stuff, then they will most likely feel like crap for most trialsy stuff and vice versa. 24s are good but a bit cramped in my opinion, I would rather ride a mod, Trying a long bike seems like a very good idea, especially if it has a high bb as it will make it a bit more streety, but it will still be harder to get the initial pull up than on a short bike. The best thing to do is decide exactly what sort of riding you want to do, trials or street!
  6. To be fair, double disc seems very popular on mods these days which is understandable, but on a stock, the rear just lacks the power. I want a dual disc mod now!!!!!!!!!!!!Might get one for when I go to uni.
  7. I drink water only, normally at least 1/2 a litre to a litre an hour, have no breakfast and use bannas to keep my energy up, with a sandwich and bag of crisps for lunch. On this I can normally do a 14 hour strenuous sesh, then stumble home, I occassionaly have a red bull or something if I feel like I am going to faint, but that is tops once a month after a few days solid riding.
  8. You don't want them tighter as you will strip the threads, that is why I said to use the extra bit of plastic, however filing it down doesn't sound like tooo bad an idea, just clamp it in a vice, put a file flat over both sides and it will file evenly and flat!
  9. I don't break anything on my trials bike really, worst is an exploding try-all free wheel that was two months out of warranty and a pedal body. My mountain bike is a whole different story though, broke a set of rockshox argyle forks, loads of chains, mechs, shifters, avid juicy 3 brake lever (doing an endo, was ultimate ggnaarrrrrrr!), bearings, a tyre, things like that.
  10. I had the same problem when I used them. The problem is that they are stiffer than normal maggy mounts, so even though the tab is the same as the maggy one it takes more force to fully clamp it, the problem with this is that this extra force will strip your threads. You can file the tabs a bit, but what I found works amazingly is putting another strip of plastic under the normal adjustment ring. I did this and have not had any problems since.
  11. No, I had one, one month of riding and the engagement ring came loose, luckily I wasn't doing anything big at the time.
  12. Where were those photos taken, because I am going there?
  13. Your teeth will end up implanted in the floor and you will end up being anally raped by whatever object you are on when it breaks.
  14. What time and is there somewhere particular to meet? Can I have someones number?
  15. Gotta use this one. My norms are : where's your seat? - Where's your bike? Why do you have balls in your wheels? - It rolls better that way! (think about it) Can you do tricks on that? - Yes, can you leave me alone? How much did that cost? - I don't know I stole it! Who is the best out of you lot? - Obviously not you!
  16. So who is defenitely riding and where?
  17. Superstar headset and hub, f*cking awesome!
  18. Can't make sunday, have work sorry, I am looking for some people to ride with on saturday!
  19. probably the best photo i've got link
  20. I was supposed to be riding on saturday but now that has been cancelled as my friend has work. I am thinking of London, milton keynes or Southend, but may go elsewhere if I can't get anyone to ride with. Where do you recommend? If someone fancies I would love to try some natural, so maybe Shoebury beach?
  21. Try some brakless stuff then, for instance sidehops do not need brakes!
  22. Boots tennis wrist support! I have broken my wrist about 3 times, I now need to see a specialist as it aches near constantly but ah well. The first time I did it I went fishing the day after the cast was put on, fell down the bank and broke the cast, they didn't give me a second one!
  23. Yes, my bike weighs at least 12.5kg
  24. I have feck all in my area, about 5 miles away there is a small skate park and a couple of fun benches, but I am really bored of doing the same lines. The way I get around it is to challenge myself to new things on the same object, for example on a bench I might try going up, spinning 180 on the back wheel (on just one of the planks) and gapping off. It is not the best example but you get the idea. Also just get some pallets and build some fun stuff in your garden, it doesn't have to be big, try for instance side hop up to gap, it's free and fun!
