  1. On the logo font side, I must take responsability for the reuse of the "Bjork" font :"> I've been surfing dafont for quite a while to find a new font to produce a simpler logo than the "Classic" one which doesn't lend it's self to stickers because it has too many colours. Being a Bjork fan (It's the font from her "Post" album) http://joel.laclavere.online.fr/Images/CD/...k/CD4_Bjork.jpg, I started playing around with that font and it worked well for the text. It's only now that I notice it was also used on Trialsworks, NBR and Nick's sites! Steve
  2. Hi Rich, Just added that to the site - No longer any need to recycle backings now, so I'm not running a trade in scheme any more. Thanks for pointing out the link to the larger images not working Tomm  It's sorted now :P Steve
  3. Ooops! sorting out some set-up stuff so the site may not be accessable until this evening :"> Steve
  4. Hi there! Thanks for the suggestions everyone :P The double scroll and tweaking the set-up of the horizontal and vertical navigation bars has been in consideration to be played around with a bit. I couldn't put my finger on how to tweak them for the moment, so they've remained unchanged. The double scroller will go, and we'll try out some of the suggestions for the nav bars to see if we can tweak the site just that little bit more! Has anyone noticed what the top banner does? Refresh the page a few times and you might see it :D Alot of work has gone into getting the site to this point, and during the evolutionary process thanks go to Simon for his initial work on my first ideas for the site, then Nick took the project on board and brought the great look and coding to it. He has worked at a phenomenal rate, at crazy hours of the day, and been very patient with me changing my mind! Thanks to Danny for being our technical consultant, there when we need him. A special mention to Sam Holmes for producing the great silohuettes in the top banner too. The work on this site has mostly happened from around 9 until 1 in the morning over the past week. Since I'm getting up at 5:30am every morning at the moment, I'm now looking forward to a bit more sleep! Hopefully the site is easy to navigate, and looks great too. I think the top banner that Nick came up with really makes the look of the site B) More content will be going up during the next week, the production info stuff is pretty much there, apart from me using too many exclaimation marks (!!!!!) Also the product descriptions are maybe a tad waffly, but I think it's important to leave a stamp of your personality on the site - Don't want to strip it bare of the human side because it will be boring to lread through! Thanks for the interest in the new products too :) I guess it wasn't too much of a surprise to see a booster coming out from me. I'll be putting the technical info I posted in the FAQ about stiffness of structures, the importance of EI etc up on my site in a new tidied up form at some point in the future too. Keep your feedback and suggestions coming - We're listening and will gratefully try out your ideas :) Cheers, Steve
  5. [offtopic]Congratulations on becoming a Dad, I presume there's a thread somewhere but haven't seen it, so congrats[/offtopic] ←
  6. Can't you drill it out wider for the extra 1mm? Or rather, filing it out will be easier since the drill will slip/bendif you try and nibble the edge.
  7. Hey Rob, don't you mean you both have the 'K'onigs which are the red moulded pads? I don't think I've sent you any of these newer ones in a golden colour, hence the (very similar sounding) code name 'H'onig (check this out in your German dictionary!) Steve
  8. When my palm is suitably graced with silver they're yours (Y)
  9. H.S. Vees with my red pads at the front on a smooth cheapo rim borrowed from Tracy's XC bike H.S. Honig pads (golden colour) on the rear maggie running against my tired D521 grind (Y) Steve

    Sstrials.com

I really like the style of the site Ben (N) Maybe a means of navigation which spreads out all the choices in one location to save clicks. I don't reckon style should mean more clicks to get to the info. With the step through arrows as they stand, you really need to make the arrows leap out as links. Change the colour to red for example. In fact, using the image based links I think you should carry this idea through the site. Many people won't want to have to read a paragraph explaining where the navigation links are on the page, or run the mouse pointer all over the screen to check which bits are the links - they want the navigation to leap out at them. Constructive criticism I hope! Steve
  11. What about Chess? I was really into it once. Get hold of one of Chess Monthly and the mysteries about the game dissappear. You used to be able to send off £1 to them for a free old copy. Published by the London Chess Centre Sample pages from mag The best form is against friends in 5 or 10 minute games rather than tournament/match play. Makes people think you're clever too! Steve
  12. Hi Sam, If you can wait a couple of days then all will be revealed on my website, which I think is the best place for the info :S BTW I owe you a pair for helping me out with my banner B) They'll be in the post in a couple of days :) Cheers, Steve
  13. Hi Rich, The answer is Yes, it would be no trouble and also and I have a supply of Koolstops I could put in - no need to send me old ones B) I'd best chat to you via PM to give you the latest news etc. rather than clog up TF with cheeky advertising :S Steve
  14. Cheers for that :S I should add that if it's someone in New members who can't post in here then pop me an email to steve@heatsinkpads.com I'd like to get these pads sent out asap :) Steve
  15. Hi, I've recently received some old pads in the post to trade in against some new ones. The problem is the person has only signed their first name and hasn't given me an address! Just thought I'd give a shout out to see if any of you guys sent me the parcel, and before you all claim some free pads, the person who sent them will know the exact pads he sent to verify B) Cheers, Steve
  16. Get to bed at around 11pm and a certain wee baby gets me up at just after 5am most mornings! Steve
  17. Thanks for everyone's help :'( We've used Sam's excellent images  Cheers, Steve
  18. Hey Sam! This is looking rather smart :- I like the BMX shot there too Andy - just the sort of thing I'm looking for! Ideally an impressive move, and the type of biking very clear too which is exactly what that shot is >_< I'll see what other contributions are submitted this evening and see what other ideas/images come up. I'll post later on. Thanks for all the help so far, Steve
  19. Hi, I'm trying to pull together a new website for a certain entreprise which will remain nameless >_< and am suffering from a lack of photoshop skills! I'd like to create a silohuette (black on clear) of a few different riding pictures and size these down. The aim is that these images would still be recogniseable as to what moves are being pulled once miniaturised. I'll posted the rough pixel size in a min. (edit: see below) What makes this slightly more interesting is that I'd like 3 images, only one of which is a trialsy one! These can be your own, or even easier, found on the web such as via google images. 1. Impressive Trials move (drop off? Gap between two obstacles?) 2. Impressive BMX move (aerial tail whip?) 3. XC racing (one showing racing down an incline? Getting some air?) Above is a paint version of a better image I'd rather not give away at this stage. This is a section of a horizon which it would be great to place the 3 images onto so it looked like they were happening in the scene and framed against the sky (red in the image). The jaggled line is approximately the horizon position. so you can get an idea of the image space. We're talking pretty small! Ideally the final images can be sized and positioned using this rough pic, and then dropped on the proper image as a layer later on. If anyone is able and keen to help, please post away your efforts as long as you're happy that they'd be used in this new site >_< I'm sure we can sidestep any copyright issues on the original photos since after manipulation it will be hard to associate them to their sources! Thanks, Steve
  20. My local supermarket has a copy! I was thumbing through it at lunchtime :)

    Ebay Help

Definately a scam! Have editted my above post :-

    Ebay Help

He's had to contact you via the ebay email sender, and then the text he's put inbetween the ebay disclaimers does read like he's pretending to be ebay, whilst telling you not to reply so ebay don't see what he sent! Hmmm. He's trying to attach an official air to his message so he can take you outside ebay for a "deal" where you will no longer enjoy protection and the ability for the transaction to be visible on the system and have the associated feedback. If it sounds too good to be true..... I pasted some of the text into google and lo and behold it's an established scam: http://answercenter.ebay.com.my/thread.jsp...hread=700000093

    Digi Camera

Some cracking cameras mentioned above ^ If you're looking for a simple to use camera, which is also more compact than a S5000, i.e. you could fit in the pocket of a coat or some trousers, then I have a recommendation. It's got a sports mode and manual settings for fast moving photography, but crucially, the User interface isn't over burdened with lots of features you won't use. I'm also not a fan of camera with dials on that have about 10 settings, only 3 of which you actually use. The following camera ticked all the boxes for all I really need, and once I'd seen it the quality of finish is much nicer than the competitors cameras for a similar spec. They have it on sale in Boots down my way, and being able to play with the camera really helped me to quickly pick out the camera amoungst it's rivals at which point I bought it online! Expect to pay around £120, Fuji A345 4.1 MPixels http://www.fotosense.co.uk/shop_details.asp?productid=1038
