  1. I was going to mention a Zona Zip, similar looking at least, I'm sure these guy's will fill in the techy details like geo, 2nd hand price etc. edit: Doh!, must type faster!
  2. In these days of phat, gusseted, hydroformed aluminium tubes on bikes, admittedly sexy, strong looking and excitingly shaped, the Reset may look uninspiring. Boring? - maybe. Overpriced? - probably. subtle? - most definately. Maybe take time out to study your choice of metal. You may be surprised. Check out Leeson bikes. As an ol'skool cyclist, I say, "you gotta feel the steel!". middleageman.
  3. Could be cool. About me and my mate in London, we're 2 old hip hop/rave/house heads who've never grown up! My mate has never heard of Trials, but still lives and breathes House. (DJ, decks, mixes etc.) I'll PM you if your interested and I'll make some sort of plan? middleageman.
  4. Thanks 'Bear'! Good advice indeed. But , with a 40th birthday approaching fast, and a bit of spare cash to throw around, (not enough for a Porsche or mistress! ), I thought I'd try Trials! I also thought I'd like to buy new, as, if an old man can't treat himself, who will? I'm also loving the new Onza mod frames - ice and limey, (keeping it British! - we need all the help we can get at the moment.) and looking forward to seeing their new Stock. Hey, if someone doesn't buy new and get fed up, there would be no 'new' second hand bikes for sale! middleageman.
  5. I'm a Newbie, I turn 40 on Tues 24th of Feb, I want a trials bike, I've never seen Trials performed except on Youtube, and i've an old friend I want to see in London. The stars are aligning. If anyone spots a bewildered, (probably, slightly tipsy) man in a T-Shirt with 'middleageman' written on it, Please tell me to F*** Off, and/or say 'Hello' !!! middleageman.
  6. Good Luck to all at Onza. I'm a Newbie, but this enthusiasm and support makes me proud to be British! And, above all, makes me want to buy British! middleageman.
  7. mmmm! Blue is the new silver....,black....., white.....etc... Just check out the new Inspired, Reset, 24UK ....any more? This summers colour, me thinks!
  8. Sorry, i've just read through the guidelines - General Rules. No.5. - advertising of other forums is NOT accepted, this is considered as very bad 'netiquette'. My upmost apologies to you all. I had not taken the time out to read these rules. middleageman.
  9. I know this site is the best, and i'm in no way knocking it! So, forgive me, i'm new. middleageman.
  10. More interest, support and co-existence through the internet, is just what this sport needs to grow and develop! Please, be sure, to spread the good word of trials-forum.co.uk wherever you may roam. For she is the source. middleageman.
  11. YouTube As I am also, a slightly deranged, smelly old man, henceforth, 'doinit' shall become my Master, my Mentor, my Sensei, my Yoda. Let's all chant " I Wonna be a trial bike rider"! Spread the word people! middleageman.
  12. mmmm....she's lovely!!! Can I polish her rims sometime? No, seriously, i've been asking to see a blue Inspired on 'bike pics' recently (inspireds in singapore - adam@tartybikes ; some lovely whites and the new brown). I was picturing the blue frame with white seat, bars, rims and forks - American retro style. But now i've seen your chrome rims, i'm thinking chrome/silver accessories......... ....I think I need a cold shower! :$ ... heh heh!
  13. Hang on, i'll ask the wife ............. ....................she say's "not really, it's a bugger to Endo!"
  14. Hurray!!! Thanks for the replies fellas. I was beginning to feel like an old toad in a pond full of frogspawn. This encouraging news was just the motivation I needed. The Mechanical Bear - I used to BMX, Mountain bike and cycle race (road, time trials, cyclo cross and track) but a lot of alchohol has passed under the bridge since then! A large part of North Wales' parks, tracks and roads still carry the scars of my mishaps, so I don't mind a bit of pain. Robin M - I think it's great you and your son are enjoying the sport together and sound like your doing well. I've got an 11 year old son who, i'm sure, i'll be embarrassing shortly. Henrik Y - loving the video. but especially, r2wtrials! I checked out your website and your content, (and as I was born in Somerset and lived in Berrow as a kid) the photos of you mucking around in Weston were just the shot of Sanatogen I was hoping for! Lovin your attitude guys. Here's a photo of my present steed, 'The Reaper'; What do you think? middleageman.
  15. Hi, as a complete Newbie, about to enter my 'life begins at', mid-life crisis, time of life. I wondered, am I kidding myself, or are there any other, more (ahem..) mature riders out there? middleageman.
  16. umm...eh??? sorry if i've offended someone.....umm?...what? etc.
  17. Once again guys, thanks for the advice. As i'm just on the good side of 40, i'm never going to be a 'Trials World Champion'! I used to BMX, road race, time trials, cyclo cross, track race and mountain bike - but not for many, many years! I'm just after a hobby/interest I could use to get fit and also something to share with my 11 year old son as he gets older. The 2 bike idea, Trials and Dirt/Jump, was because of our coastal location, with parks, prom, dunes and local hills and woods, there's miles and miles of spots suitable to both sports. The second hand bike purchase is worth some serious thought, thanks. (lovely Inspired by the way, I just haven't the readies yet!) If I seem a bit indecisive, it's the reason I joined the forum. As a 4 week old Newbie, all your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. middleageman.
  18. Hi, i've been asking the forum members a similar question recently and thought I could help. As already mentioned, the Inspired Fourplay (so cool, try looking on inspiredbicycles.com, tartybikes.co.uk or searching in the 'bike pictures' section on the forum). Also, Heatsink bikes - 24UK Onza Zoot ( not sure if it's still in production though?) Leeson (out of production) and also the new Diamond/Ashton Effect due out this year. There are also some cool 24" clips on youtube. middleageman.
  19. About posting in NMC, Fish-Finger-er, point taken. :$ I guess I thought by posting here, I would recieve more replies and therefore more help/advice. Plus the members forum can be quite 'tech'y and intimidating for a Newbie.
  20. wow!.......these bikes are gorgeous. I'm seriously going to have a long walk and talk with my wallet, i think I need one of these bikes in my life. Supercool. Does anyone have any pics of a fully built pale blue one please? I'm imagining white rims, bars and seat .... mmmm!
  21. mmmm, but are you biased because you are already Trialers? ha ha!
  22. No, weirdoku, but thank you for asking and remembering! Imagine, hypothetically, I had £1200 to £1500 spend. After a great deal of contemplation, I thought a 24" would suit my needs. I saw a possible, ultimate 'Inspired' on Tarty, then, after calming myself down, I realised for that sort of cash, I could buy a 20" Onza and a 24" Dirt/Jump bike as well! ( I live on the coast, with skate parks, miles of promenade, rocks and dunes to die for!). What would you do?, (or anyone else?) in my position? middleageman. (sorry, I appear to be 'jacking' my own thread!).
  23. Yeah sorry, never had dealings with this particular firm, just others. All I meant was, sometimes you have to bully them to get what you want. Just keep emailing or phoning, or an old fashioned letter sometimes works! Speaking from internet shopping experience, but hey, what do I know! middleageman.
