  1. Yep yep, so, bump a tad but yeah, I have no experience with what to get, so what brake would be best to have first before I start takign the bike apart and changing lots of things?
  2. Because trials is about surpassing obstacles, whereas bmxing is about tricks, so it's easier to grade bmx tricks than trials skills, so a points system is in order. Then again, a trials competition style game could be done, but the variation of terrain which makes trials so appealling couldn't be captured in the game...
  3. Oh okays, just a matter of recognition? They are rather petty bikes but I suppose that's not a lot coming from me after saying I can't tell what they are
  4. How are you able to tell what frame it is?
  5. Searching usually comes up with far too many results to check them all though. Anyway then, seeing as my topic is now moot is there anything I should do when I pick up my new bike on sunday. It's not actually new, I got it second hand off ebay. I dunno if it's all the standard original bike buuut this is what it is, mission prodigy bike. Is there any recurring problems for this make, and also is there something necessary to change on it either? It has no front brake, but that's easily sorted...disc brake I assume-suggestions again? Help appreciated
  6. Well the free running game was not that good but was still really fun, it had about as much potential as a trials riding game, so I reckon although it would be a good idea and probably quite fun, there wouldn't be a wide enough audience for it to be worthwhile to make. First real response
  7. Lar, when you say Plymouth/London, what is directly local to you? 'cause I may be able to ride with you at a later date...
  8. Ok, now, for 65 quid I've bought a Mission Prodigy off ebay. There are a few scratches apparently (I'm yet to pick it up) and no front brake, but that's easily sorted (my sister's boyf is head of bikes at halfords) am expecting to get a disc brake obv suggestions as to which brake? Also, I've no idea if it's the standard bike or if anything's been changed, and will hopefully find out how to tell which parts are which make, but from this what would you suggest changing? Finally, if anyone has one or knows things about these bikes, is there anything I should look out for? Anything that may kill me? Thanks for any help, and hopefully I will have some help Tom
  9. My mate had been watching spiderman, and said that although he's done free runnign for years, all these crazy jumps, he just jumped out of bed, did a spiderman pose and burst a vein in his leg was pretty epic
  10. Hahaha, mad as it was, I'm sure that's closer to the origin of flatland bmxing...if anything like that could be the origin of ANYTHING
  11. Yeah, you'd love to be able to just roll up to something and mess around on it like that but practise is progress so get out there kids
  12. It's a pretty good video, kinda intriguing to see him at work if you know what I mean...but how did you get this from the members section when you're in the pre members?
  13. Haha, that is quality, I'd love to see that in real, a bloke in a suit doing stunts on the way to work but yeah, the editing, I love the bit the the puddle, reflection, then the scattering drops, actually really good editing!
  14. Did you not have to go back to get anything checked? 'cause I'm near enough novice to bikes, I've got very little idea as how to maintain it and keep it in good condition, so if it's new then...I can at least take it to the shop if something's up And true, 19" wheels seem best. Any final opinions before I order it?
  15. It's not so much for riding about on as...getting to the places to ride. Make sense? It's only my first bike to see if I take to it seriously rather than something I'm gonna start fine tuning to my body immediately. Just a casual investment like I say that, £300 is a bit iffy seeing as I was looking to spend £200 in the first place
  16. Nah, sorry, tempted as I am, I'm near enough settled on a T-Bird 'cause I want something with a seat for my first bike
  17. Aww thanks how communal and nice of you yeah apaz you're only twenty mins up the road from me (says my mum ) And yeah I'm looking at a T-Bird, the Onza site says it's good to learn on, and my cousin who used to do trials says it's alright to learn on, and he works in a bike shop too, so I'll trust him and my father owes me a birthday present, and my sister, so I should get it soon
  18. Any websites with trial bikes on that aren't onza brand?
  19. I'm still yet to get my first trials bike, I've had a thorough attempt on mountain bikes until I trashed 2, so now have nothing to try on so I'm gonna buy an actual trials bike to take the abuse What would be best to buy to learn on, an Onza T-Vee or Onza T-Bird? T-Vee costs £270 and T-Bird costs £300 so price doesn't matter. I need a bike with a seat because the spots by me are still a fair cycle away, so it needs to be at least possible to ride around on, even if it's not comfortable or easy, and these are the only Onzas with seats. And I want a 20" bike 'cause it seems easier to learn on. So which'd be best to learn on? Help please
  20. Decided to get something new, so I can moan if it goes wrong, or sell it for a lot if I don't get into this much I'm looking for a 20" bike with a seat and disc brakes, help anyone?
  21. To hoots man: I'm yet to start, I've done a few tiny things on mountain bikes, but now I've trashed that I'm gonna get a proper bike, but when I do, I'm sure you'd be kind enough to teach me stuff yeah? or I'll just amble along to a jam or something And to N.Wood: I think I had fatpants as an msn contact, but he annoyed me by insulting freerunning where do you live now then? And it's easier to get a bus to W Wickham
  22. I have two questions, but neither is too big to have its own topic. Firstly, and mainly, what was the main video which inspired you to start trials riding, or the particular rider who got you interested? Any links would be greatly appreciated. The one which I first saw what the Danny Mac vid my mate posted on facebook, and that was got me into it properly, though I'd thought it looked good before then I'm also looking for vids which may make friends of mine interested enough to learn with me. Secondly, is anyone on here local to where I live. I live in Orpington on the Southeastern fringes of London, but I'd be willing to travel about a bit to meet people who ride...anyone? Thanks much Tom
  23. Don't forget that buying from new costs more but you can return it if something's wrong...so when you're new to it, that's a major factor to consider. Ooooor, if there's a real bargain on ebay (under £100 is a reeeeaaaally good price for the cheaper things) it may be worth having a bike that you wouldn't mind trashing for that sort of money. My recommendation is to either go to a bike shop in person or from an official online dealer so that you can take it back and moan about it if it goes wrong
  24. Yah, sexy red hairs I love the can-can like pose on the bin I think it is and the sequences weren't too bad, though the middle frame of the bottom one is amazing, the extension, distance, etc, looks great
  25. Ah, I ride a 19" uni but with thick creepy crawler tyres is there really that much slang used around here? The only one I can think of is what I saw 5 mins ago "LBS" for Local Bike Shop...any suggestions for words or names that the newer people might not get? (not that I'm an experienced forumer )
