  1. I'm sure I'll find somewhere on this site to tell me how exactly to do that right, I'm looking at front brakes, as far as I can tell hydraulic rim brakes look the same as v brakes. Difference please? Also...Avid SD5 v brake off tarty for £17, any good? I'm thinking a v brake is gonna be easiest to put on and such, so that's swaying my decision a tad. Just wanna know if they're good enough to learn on? I just want something good enough for now to play with, nothing able to withstand intense inside-volcano and 50 000 feet pressures or whatever, just something a bit strong helping plizzums? Ta much x
  2. Vimeo is far less likely to be blocked on school computers, so I can watch vids there, big plus. Other than that, youtube. As said above, relevant vids, can also view all vids by someone as easily as on vimeo, but there's a wider range. Youtube all in all
  3. Was playing with the bike today, and sussed that I have to pull the back brake so far that for it to stop the wheel, it's crushing my fingers which are still on the handlebar...how do I adjust it so that I don't have to pull the lever so far until the pads bite the wheel? Also, still shopping for a front brake...would rather buy new, hoping that it'd come with instructions on how to assemble does it?
  4. The back ones actually alright I think, it's just me being a poor craftsman blaming my tools I'm not really good enough to do anything so shan't moan
  5. I presume it'll be what comes as standard... http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/110203.html Mine's second hand so not definite, will check before I buy ought. "four bolt magura mounts" ?
  6. Pretty much all as above, I have a Mission Prodigy with no front brake, and the back brake isn't too good I don't think, so any help appreciated. And please none of those one word answers without reasons, I wanna know why I'm doing it, hopefully I'll learn something I assume it's the standard wheels that come with it, a 19x2.50 Maxiss rear tyre and a 20x2.0 Maxiss front tyre. Probably is, I vaguely recall seeing it but wouldn't put money on it ta much for help Tom x
  7. It's a pretty cool vid, but it's against the rules to cross post from members to pre-members, so I doubt it's gonna be encouraged to cross post from here to members...
  8. Lifted up the front wheel, held the back brake on and tried jumping onto the pedals (I wasn't on it before hand) did like one back wheel hop before leaning too far back, the brake went, I just went plop on my back simple, but thebest I've got so far When I was tiny I saw my big sister's mate drive up a kerb on his bike, I tried to copy him, but didn't know to lift up the front wheel, so I launched myself into a wall face first, fat lip and everything Or the time just cycling, I looked to my right, drifted left off the road and face first into a tree at about 15mph, I just sorta bounced off the bike into the road, and cut all of one cheek. The bike ended up bent with a torn tyre (only the wheel was bent) and I was standing in the road confused like what just happened?
  9. Second on the camera comment, really quirky angles, looking professional. Sick riding. And oh my god THAT PLACE IS AMAZING Epic stuff!
  10. I so want an outfit like that a lot of bmx stuff going on there, can tell it hadn't fully isolated itself from other bike sports like the unique brand it is today. But yeah, they're really good, like as good as people are today, is impressive.
  11. I am now terrified to go riding my first time out on my bike, within about three hours I fell off, and my wrist didn't start hurting until later that night, and 3 nights later as it wasn't getting better I went hosp, thinking it may be like a partially torn ligament. Only soft tissue damage they says, just rest it they says. Looong hopefully I'll be alright next time I ride
  12. Nice I liiikes espesh the rail endo pivot, is 'maaaazin' well good stuff
  13. Could practise using a heavier bike, or even just wear ankle weights at home so you build up strength. Ankle weights are good as they don't get in the way, or you can even do it whilst sitting down, but they slowly make your legs stronger. Squats would help too
  14. Switzerland squeaker is good, and I think it's called a leech loop? Ryan leech's thing? Crazy. But I think a good balancing along a rail or thin wall is good
  15. Horse in the background at 1:43 I'm liking this horse it's like Where's Wally but yeah, good vid, you make the jumps on the bench look easy. Perhaps try sticking the landings rather than landing and jumping straight off, would look more controlled? Is good though
  16. I love the horse in the background at 1:43 is good stuff hope I'm that good soon
  17. Or, just tilt your ankles a bit so your feet stay horizontal at all times, they way it's difficult for them to slip off, then build up from kerbs to bigger kerbs, then steps, then small walls, then ledges, etc practise is progress, and progress is striving for perfection
  18. At least he got noticed eh? It took ages between free running to go from channel four documentary until proper bbc competition, 9 years actually So wahey but what beat him?
  19. Hahaha it's a laugh 'cause if they game won't exist, we can play it in our minds. BTW I claim top score I did some foot jam tailwhip 270 drop off to pedal kick wheelie then drop off
  20. Well, yeah, I know it'd entertain the trials audience, but realistically, that's not gonna be a great deal of gamers out there. Chuck on uzi into the rider's hand, maybe you'd sell more, but I reckon something as technical and small scale would not entertain a wide enough audience to make it a worthwhile product.
  21. +1, off ebay my bike cost £65, and all it's aparrently missing is a front brake...but I haven't picked it up yet. I'll keep you posted if trusting ebay is a good idea on monday but seriously, it's pretty much waiting for a good deal if you're gonna do ebay, it took me ages and many heartbreaks to see those good bikes go for loads, but if you have the self restraint and the time, you could wait for a bargain and check regularly.
  22. Hahaha that's a pretty impressive list and obv playstation 'cause it's better *cue arguments* What about like rail balance? Manuals would be pedal kick then lean back? You'd have to have weight shift left and right as well as turn left and right, 'cause possible street riding on slanted things... But your list of potential controls has made me think the game would be possible But too small an audience...
  23. Only just saw your comment on my profile, I should be picking my bike up this weekend, so weather permitting, I should be out riding soon, and you can teach me everything :)

  24. I thought we established that the concept and appeal of trials would be difficult to capture for a game? Personally, I agree, going out to ride is gonna be a better use of time
  25. Is it gonna say what fork it is on the fork or whatever? I've often wondered how people know all these parts and stuff by sight...
