  1. A stock, 'cause they're cheaper and have seats I'd guess. I'd want something that's bearable to ride around as well as do trials on, rather than something that is thoroughly uncomfortable to ride leisurely.
  2. Aye, was good stuff, but I'd recommend slow-mo-ing less. You can still slow-mo, but not that slow and a higher riding to context ratio please ah well, was good though
  3. oh my god Savage stuff. Good idea for a topic though, highly amusing, though I don't doubt that both hurt immensely
  4. I'm wanting to buy a bike to begin with, and from looking round here, it seems a T-pro or Bird is best to begin with, but they're a bit out of my price range. I've messed around on a basic halfords mountain bike but we all know halfords bikes are rubbish bikes I'm looking for a bike up to about £250, £300 at a push, with a seat and preferably gears. I'm not too comfortable buying second hand either, 'cause I'd like to be able to complain if it's faulty. The best I've found is the following, but I'm sure it's not gonna be the best, or there's something wrong with it. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?pr...;category_id=47 I don't really have a tremendous amount of knowledge about the little things on bikes, so any help is appreciated. Thanks
  5. Never had a serious injury. The most painful I can remember was on my unicycle, I was riding off a wall and jumped, I think it was technically a pedal kick, but my feet slipped off when I was in the air. I sort of somehow partially forgot to put my feet back on the pedals, and basically fell about three foot straight onto my crown jewels on the seat. That was an uncomfortable moment that's all I have, I'm sure as time goes on I can provide more stories as could anyone
  6. But if you ride for a while they'll go soft and squidgy again. I've found from riding bike and unicycle trials and playing guitar, you don't really have to stop doing it for long before your hand goes soft again. Gloves are a good investment. As for shin and knee pads, progress=safety helmet vital though
  7. Pretty much solved that pickle does it give advice only in english though?
  8. Is there anything similar to this but cheaper, and with a seat? Seems a tad over-ambitious to get a bike without a seat for me as a beginner? Any good sites for reasonably cheap beginner trials bikes?
  9. I found a relatively easy way to get used to your bike and weight transition is by holding the front brake and lifting the rear wheel onto a kerb to which you are riding parallel. Or, lift the front wheel onto it (again parallel) and then hold the front brake and lift the back wheel on after you. Try this also going off the kerb, and this will help significantly with moving the bike around and your ow body weight. After getting this down on kerbs, you can move onto bigger things like walls. I must point out that trackstands and hops are also very important, but the weight manipulation was unmentioned so
  10. And can you gimme Camron's msn please too? oh my god how did you find me? :p

    Danny Macaskill - April 2009

This was the video that made me think "Hmm I'll go try that" :P Love it! The music is actually fit so well...well, the editing is fit very well to th music, should say :P Tailwhip precision jump, flare, incredible!
  13. I'll set the scene. It was a glorious afternoon in May, and I pinched my tire or something and basically the bike is a load of plop (got bored of scene setting ) anyway, I now have no bike, and obv want to learn trials from the beginning. I'm looking for something cheap, say about £200 perhaps? Any advice on what I should buy? I've been told a trail bike is heavier but sturdier and is worth learning on as it can take some abuse and crashes, and then when I get a proper, light bike I will basically fly. Is that good advice, or should I get something else? Help me pleeeaaase?
  14. Now for another Tom Yeah, my first time was with you Lex Was a good day out even if I killed my bike and stole yours. I'm rather glad that I've always been a tad...extreme I suppose, though I don't want to seem up my bum. Things like parkour and unicycling have significantly helped balance and coordination so that'd be why Cabbage asked "How're you picking it up so fast". Bit of practise in my garden, bit of luck outside that I seemed to grasp well, hops really, fast Now it's all practise. I should think I'd wanna try and get onto my back wheel, and hop though I've no idea what that balancing bit's called on the back wheel. And then pedal kicks. Then that's the basic basics covered. And endo shizzle is fun
  15. Hey, I'm Tom, and I've started what will hopefully turn into trials riding with Lexism. I punctured the tire on the first time out, but tried it on his and another bike, and it was good fun. I would also like to meet any riders in or around Orpington. It would obviously be of significant value to ride with more experienced people. I now need a new bike as I have pretty much done everything possible to the one I've been using. Was fun...but it's gone now I've also done some unicycle trials riding, which is a bit embarrassing as I'm the only person I know with a unicycle, but it's still good for balance. Amazing rather But yeah, that's me, just started and looking for tips on techniques and getting a new bike at the mo too ta for now
