hi sobek, it might be a muscle stretch which if thats the case will record after a fews days of rest and some massage. Do find out if its the bone (rib) or the muscle that is hurting. If its the bone, its safe to go to the doc and get a x ray =)

totally agree. He should consider reynolds 853.. its tought enough for pretty bad abuse, easily weildable if broken and weight its pretty decent too =) btw which brands are still producing steel trial frames, or have a steel trial frames in the last couple of years? i kinda like how steel doesnt flex (as much) =)
-
thanks sstein! if will be pretty interesting if its chromo. but i think reynold 853 is more suitable? since theoratically its lighter than chromo...
-
sorry for digging the old topic, what steel does marino use? 2.4kg is really quite heavy.. even the norco steel frames for 26 goes at 2.1kg
-
thanks! i think i wont run a sus fork. Its not worth the weight for pure trials so street trials at high speed maybe.. but sus fork most prob not =) anyone is riding a rigid fork geometrically corrected bike?
-
either your bottom bracket is worn out, or the cranks came loose =) try tightening the cranks first
-
thanks for the opinions guys! after reading the opinions and some riding, i guess sus is no no fork me. Uncontrollable and adds a good bulk of weight, needs maintence and is expensive -.- i think i will be giving up my norco frame, guess that even with a geometry corrected fork it will on raise the front up high limiting the maximun pulling up of the front.. may i ask what is a recommended geo for a 26 street trials frame? was thinking the yaabaa 799 =) http://tartybikes.co.uk/product.php?produc...;category_id=14

Nice bike! love the colors!

Anyone here who rides a geometry corrected fork bike or a sus fork bike? need some opinions on this thanks! =)

i having been using a magura marta and its have been serving me pretty well.. locks up the front well for good trailing =) but seems to squeak when modulating.. i guess there isnt any brakes out out there that can modulate in silent and still lock up tight?

Am I Too Tall Or Too Old For Trials?
snoolax replied to kevcampbell's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
wow thats a really good steal for 20 pound! anyway i ont think anyone is too tall or too old for trails. i know a frend who rides at 45 years old so if u are younger than that u are not too old. There is a blind trails rider with videos in the net, if u can see pretty well i think u can ride too. if u think u are too tall? check out what jeff lenosky does =) anyway have fun riding! -
i personally dont think frame saving weight by drilling is good.. if u wan a lighter frame just get a new lighter frame instead of weakening all the sections... i think frames are based on triangular rigidity for them to remains as sturdy as possible and drilling here and there takes that away..

Hello everyone, may i ask if anyone is running street trials bikes of 24 or 26 with geometry correction forks or sus forks? how do they feel as compared to normal bikes which are geometrically dialled as compared to one that needs to is altered by using a longer fork (perharps to raise its BB height and such)? I am not comparing them to pure trials bike geometry and handling, as obviously pure trials are the best in doing trials.. i am more interested in whether a susfork set up on a sus fork designed frame, a geometry corrected fork setup on a sus fork designed frame, and a normal 400mm rigid fork on a normal street trials geometry frame, how do they differ in terms of handling and riding? An example of the above will be the manifesto with sus fork, a manifesto with a geometry corrected fork, and a yaabaa799 with a normal rigid fork. thanks for all opinions and discussions!
-
thanks maxiss 26!! i totally understand now! will start sourcing for my longer fork.. does carbon forks work for trials? the nukeproof one from CRC look pretty good =)
-
an add on... was thinking bout this.. what are the possible implciations of a geometry corrected fork.. will the front be too high?
-
thanks!!! just curious why the new deore doesnt have indication =)
-
thanks guys! how do i see whether the fork is longer than a normal fork? is the the crown height? sorry i am new to tech specifications.. was looking at the alu 29er forks and their weight seems decent! from 800 to 900g.. a side question, should i match my moment with a heavy front fork since the frame itself is slightly heavier than normal alu frames.. i feel that most of the weight is more at the rear.. is balancing the bike CG important? thanks again guys, all the help are really appreciated.
-
thanks forteh! i am not really bothered bout the clicking, just curious only =) a out of topic request, anyone can help me identify these brakes? not sure which series of the brakes do they belong to.. thanks!
-
any recommendations? i know nuts bout 29er
-
thanks again maxxis26! does this means i either have to live with a -10bb bike, or get a geometry corrected fork, or go sus? oh no i love my fatty R > <
-
hmmm because i am riding mix street and trials and i love to hear the tire sound? actually its mainly because i like in a pretty congested area and i ride a lot at night.. but well its just a out of curious question. currently i am running shimano old slilent clutch hub on my streety bike. Its dead silent. The ck is on my pure 26, but just thinking of transfering over. anyway here is a pic =)
-
hi everyone, i have some ck hubs questions to ask... 1. i am running a ck rear hub but i am not sure which of the hubs is it (from ck site). My hub itself(like all ck hubs i guess) doesnt have any indication for me to look how for, how can i know which of the ck hub i am running? 2. My ck rear hub makes a very long continuous, click sound during free wheeling(coasting), does CK produce any silent hubs? thanks for all help! =)

thanks bikeperson and maxxis26! yup i did some measurements, its around -10bb currently i am running a canondale fatty R fork. I think its a normal geometry (400mm?) fork... if there anyway which i can still run that fork but push it higher/longer so that i will have a better BB geometry? Or is there no other choice that i definitely have to get a geometry corrected fork to corret the negative bb? thanks!
-
thanks maxxis26! whats the main difference in those steel suspension look-alike forks and those normal rigid curve forks?
-
really sorry forgot to paste the link of the video i am refering to.. here is it http://www.vimeo.com/3993171 i am still looking for help thanks again!
