  1. Hi there! Thank you for posting! I know exactly what you guys mean - no problem I noticed my riding "suffered" a bit in the past, which, I think, might be due to my latest bike setups. When I first got the Skye it was a harsh cut for me since I always used to equip my bikes in a rather special way which the Skye wasn't even close to. It might be interesting for some of you that I ended up realizing the fact, that I don't want to keep riding this way but rather give up on the skye. I'm now on mod as long as I built a suitable 24" for my needs - I'm pretty stoked to finally start collecting parts for "personal" build
  2. 2004 used to be a copy of the Coust St. Blaise So...no. He runs a 116mm hub. It must be horizontal
  3. haha this photo was taken during our last trial jam, I just fitted my entire bed into this car since the bikes were safe inside the hall including like 100 other trialers. So I decided i would get the best sleep when not sharing a room with 10 other people but sleeping in my car Well, the Skye mostly is for demos and ocassions in which I need a reliable bike. It suits me perfectly since I'm not that tall and its just like 990mm long. I used to struggle with the brakes since I've been running V-Brakes for almost all my life. But now I like the Hopes quite much since they never gave up on me and provide enough power. The weight, though, is quite ridiculous.. It takes a few weeks to get along with it lol. Everyone who wanted to test it in the past told me it feels weird compared to other bikes but once you've got it it's a great bike! The only thing that died so far was the Howitzer BB which started making noises after just a few weeks.. I consider going back to a regular crankset/bb soon P.S.: I managed to put my bikes in a chronological order which turned out to be quite difficult lol: http://www.mtb-news.de/forum/showpost.php?p=9501550&postcount=890 Have fun! Martin
  4. Well I got them for years now but never had a suitable bike for them to run on I didn't pinch flat them yet, but what's way more annoying is the fact that they just don't grip.. it's ok when riding under dry conditions but in case there is just a small spot of wetness you can actually stop riding since its safer to simply walk instead of riding your bike What's cool is that they actually have no rolling resistance, plus they make funny squek sounds on concrete when doing 180° etc. which is quite remarkable
  5. Hi there! I've been riding these bikes for quite a while now but now I feel the urge to share them as I'm quite happy with them Inspired Element 24"/Skye Let's start with my secret love: My good old Element which has gone through all kinds of beating during the last year: I Got it as a framekit straight from John@Inspired exactly one year ago. It had TV-appearance, was used in multiple shows, videos and commercials which is why I just can't give it away I figured, since I just got the skye, there is no need to have two bikes for the same purpose, so I decided to finally build a brakeless rig as this idea kept staying in my mind for months now I've never had this much fun on urban spots - actually I've been riding it MUCH more than the skye lately even though the Element is brakeless for like 3 months now, so I think its not just a "phase" I'm in, plus I'm quite creative on it which will definitely be part of our new video Parts: Frame: Element 24" Forks: Element Headset: Cane Creek Stem: BBB 70mm*35° Bars: Inspired Grips: Trialtech foam Cranks: RaceFace Northshore DH ISIS BB: Gigapipe Pedals: Inspired (MG1 in some pics) Seating: Inspired Chain: Some random mix of K810 and regular chains Tensioner: Rohloff Frontwheel: Grossmann hub (sealed bearings) + Spank Stiffy rim + Kenda Kiniption Backwheel: Trialtech hub + Trialtech 108EP 16T freewheel + Spank Stiffy rim + Kenda Kiniption No brakes + 22:16 + 108EPs + 35° stem + uncut fork/spacers= joy Then we got the skye which is pretty much stock except from the marked/fat parts below: Parts: Frame: Skye 24" Forks: Skye Headset: Hope Stem: Hope 90mm*10° Bars: Inspired Highriser Grips: Trialtech foam Cranks: Truvativ Holzfeller BB: Howitzer Pedals: MG1 (Inspired in the pics) Seating: Inspired Chain: K810 Koolchain Tensioner: Rohloff Frontwheel: Hope Evo hub+Atomlab Pimp rim+Schwalbe Tabletop Backwheel: Hope Evo hub+ 16T sprocket+ Atomlab Pimp rim+ Maxxis Holyroller Brakes: Hope Tech 180mm front/rear On top of that I got the pefect car for almost every occasion lol: 2.0 VW Passat 35i B-4 Variant
  6. Some more glow-in-the-dark riding by Mr. Gorez
  7. haha, he's 22 y/o, has a 1. generation fourplay and is very special in his riding.. although he rides with us on a regular basis he actually never happens to appear in a video The only one I know who pedals up to front 8 epals with an inspired fourplay without any issues. See me in the back studying his technique xD
  8. While the HDR-edit of TheMotionCircle splitted peoples' minds Gorez surprisingly has created an own video in his usual style which, therefore, contains a whole lot of action Have fun! I wonder what a video would be like in case TheMotionCircle and Gorez would work together lol Martin p.s. oh my god automatically transforms into "Oh my god" haha nice one : P
  9. That's exactly what he expected: on one hand there are people being amazed by this way of editing and then there those that just find it kind of disturbing. No problem In the end it's up to you to decide whether its cool or not, I myself think it's strange but rather in a positive way since its just different. However, I must agree that it's more about the edit than the riding, which he also is aware of since it was a project Forgot about this badboy:
  10. I was asked to participate in a project by TheMotionCircle back in the day (a quite popular MTB-filmer over here) since he wanted to try two new things he had been wondering about for a while: Trying to make a Trials edit as well as making use of HDR in such a video for the first time. So I couldn't refuse and we started filming in winter last year This is what came around and anybody who knows about HDR might tell from the video how much time he spent in front of the PC to make it look this way ( e.g. he spoke of 315GB of footage ) I was actually surprised when I watched it for the first time earlier this evening.. Have fun! Martin
  11. Random footage from last year's sessions Me on Marino, Element, BMX and Skye Enjoy!
  12. Thank you! haha, I'm actually part of the crew to prepare the whole event Looking forward to seeing you there?
  13. ... even though it says "Skye" on my new bike 2012 is going to be the first year in which I will be supported by Inspired through its german store.. I'm looking forward to the summer, it's just going to be awesome I hope you keep enjoying our videos in the future, so we try to keep them coming Regards, Martin
  14. Right. But it actually turned out better than expected since it is supposed to be an advertisement for random stones made by this company Therefore it even contains too much riding
  15. Hey! I was asked to take part in an imagefilm of a german concrete company back in september. Finally I received the result Some of the shots were made using an electric helicopter, funny experience Martin P.S. We're working on a new video right now, let's see what the hype around the Skye is all about So watch out for us ;D
  16. So we've tried to make the best of the last sunshine It also contains some older clips filmed during the summer and on my old Marino frame. I hope you like it! Thanks to MoppelKopp for filming and editing =)
  17. Another video from cologne, this time maybe not as entertaining as his videos used to be but it contains A LOT more action! No helmet-comments please, he's old enough to decide it on his own Congrats to him for being sponsored by Milkyway
  18. The woman immediately called him idiot and told him to leave this place, otherwise she would call the caretaker. Then she even tried to threat him by speaking of the police but wasn't able to find the right words which sounded pretty funny. The next situation was like "you really need to smash your assholes so you know what's going on here!" (yes, he did say assholes not asses lol) The old guy asked us to guess his age which was 76 in the end. He came up telling us that he loves doing trips by bike and he showed us his "bike computer" which had counted 4000km till this point for this year..
  19. Pretty entertaining video of what's going wrong over here in Cologne, me on yellow Inspired+green helmet As those were just the bails, a proper video should be done in a couple of weeks! Enjoy our stupidity lol Martin
  20. Thank you! The stadium part was actually real, Gorez just took the original clips from TV and made it look cooler than it actually was lol Story: I had an appearance in a german TV show watched by like 12 million people.. I had to gap 50 rails (25 in a row twice) but unfortunately I had issues pedaling up the first one in the show whereas it was pretty easy in advance when testing it under normal conditions. In the end I ran out of time due to the first rail but I was surprised on how the audience liked it though After all I got the third place out of six in the rating which was even better than some other "bets" which were actually won by the candidates
  21. I don't thing my riding inside the video deserves any praise but then mr. Gorez put so much effort in editing the shit out of it that I thought, well, after all it could, however, be worth a post. It's definitely a contrast to the usual way of edit since this time it was not Moppelkopp taking and edititing these clips since he's busy atm So here it is: Martin
  22. I had time to train it, and we really trained the shit out of everything.. that's why I'm quite sad it didn't turned out that well in the end. Before the event everything worked great but then... well, you see lol. You just can't plan every possible mistake. We've spent a great time over there in Palma though, one of the best experiences I've ever made =) Thank you for your nicecomments! =)
  23. One more diappointment after having read "Craig Lee Scott" in the title twice since he actually stopped riding trials bikes
  24. There is a guy over here who has a stuffed animal in his backwheel. That's pretty much a feature of him since I can't remember him without it (I know him maybe 5 years or sth. lol). Also, I used to put a normal piece of paper into my frontwheel that used to emphasized the rotation of it. People could see you frontwheel spinning when tapping or bunnyhopping a wall without pulling your front brake
