  1. Would that have been set as a compulsory question then or could you have chosen your own? I take it the 35,000 words is for your masters dissertation? surely no one could write 35,000 words on motorway rainwater run off! One of my lecturers did his PHD thesis on industrial bolts. He's a fun guy

  2. I'm suprised if the whole system won't implode soon anyway. The number of graduates has shot up over the last few years yet the supply of well paid jobs in the UK is no where near as high. There are going to be so many loans that will never get paid off.

  3. I never really took much notice of the difference in types of degrees (BA, BS, hons etc etc :S) as I always knew what I wanted to do so never looked at anything else- so can't give you a descent answer I'm afraid. But I'm doing Business Management with Marketing though and as far as I'm aware any similar degees have some kind of final year project that involves a hench piece of work with lots of writing.

the aim of my dissertation is "To what extent do Lager brands need to adapt their Marketing Communications techniques and strategy in response to changing consumption and demographic patterns."

dont have a title yet though.

And Ads thats absolutely nuts doing it in 48 hours :S I'd have some kind of nervous breakdown by the second day lol. What drugs were you taking to keep you going that long!

  4. Three weeks today and my 10,000 word dissertation has to be handed in  Needless to say I had the last laugh the next few weeks are going to be pretty busy! Are there many other final year students on the forum in the same situation? when's your deadline and how are you getting on? I'm already up to 6,000 words some how but I've gone a bit overboard and I've got loads more to cover :S

more importantly what are your plans once you've handed it in! 4.00pm deadline. So 4.05pm and I'll be getting the drinks in. Cant wait.

  5. everybody seems to be bloody quick learners :S Hopefuly someone will cheer me up by saying it took them 80 hours and 6 goes to pass . Just joshing. I was told that the average these days is 40 - 50! Probably bull shit so I have to take more lessons though. My test is on 16th May by which time I will have had around 40 hours on the road (not practiced in a mates or parents car).

  6. Yeah I'm in Cromer now. Cant ride at the weekend though as I'm seeing my gf/ doing my dissertation depending on how much progress I make. I havent bought any new bike parts for about 3 years so dont have any spares lieing around unfortunately! Good luck with the coursework

  7. ha brilliant! Was a very freaky programme watching it at that age! The episode where the bullys got hold of the magic remote control that could fast foward/ pause etc time. And the cabbage patch children that did actually grow from cabbage patches- that scared the crap out of me  and who could forget the birdman competition off the end of the pier.

  8. no, but having read the topic title "Have you ever?" I really was hoping that when I clicked it open I'd find that you'd continued by writing....

"ever felt like this. When strange things happen are you going round the twist?" :P

Sorry obscure reference there, but thats what popped into my head  Anybody remember that show ?

But then that would be an incredibly pointless topic. unlike this one of course.

  9. 1. Either depending on mood (is that ok? if not then street I guess)

    2. No

    5. I get all my news, info, photos etc on the Internet.

  10. Saw 3 - Ridiculous, over the top, plot- what plot?, Infuriating! The only good thing I can say is that it was fairly watchable- if only to pick holes in the plot/ shout at the annoying characters 4/10

"this will relieve your headaches" <Drills into skull>.... Riiiight course it will

and the tit who was playing the game. Make a bloody decision and quick! either save them or let them die a painful death. Dont um and ah for 5 mins, change your mind 4 times, then put in a half arsed attempt at saving them by which time they are too mangled to be worth saving anyway  ididot.

  11. looking sexy Yoyoyo.

Been drinking since 2pm yesterday afternoon. Lots of Guiness til 7pm, then back home for a recharge. Back out again and onto the odka redbull to kep my conscious and able to make it into club. Just power walked home after I realised all my mates had buggered off and was dancing on my bill. Ha way too much drinkage. All in all a very good day and I got my hat. Just need to find a pic

  12. you could well have done :P I was at the "street party" down an alley in West Street and then headed over to Spoons (Brighton Healm). If i saw you guys then would have given you a shout for sure. You would have been better off riding off though rather than me trying to have ago one someones bike and falling off drunk :P

  13. Was going to say you got in early until I realised you were in Aus. You thieving b*****d though :o to be fair though its their fault if they didnt anticipate the thieve. I've just made it home with my hat. Going out again in a few hours.

  14. I think Simon hit the nail on the head. The forum doesnt need to change, but it could do with more people able to validate new members. Theres only 6 mods and 2 admin on what is a pretty large forum. We have lives outside of the forum and its just not possible to sit around all day validating- there is also the small matter of moderating the rest of this place! There are good new members that are worthy of being made a full member that unfortunately slip through the net and it takes longer than it should do. However there are many more new members that just post lots of crap, make no effort with their spelling and grammar and dont bother to read and understand the guidelines. I'm sorry but I'd have to say that there is more of the second type and this makes it even harder for us to pick out the good ones.

if you haven't already then read this thread and take notice!

  15. as above. Add a mini review if you like

    24 Hour Party People - 6.5/10 (and dont forget the .5 :P)

Very strange film. Very amusing in parts and interesting history behind the Madchester music scene- the antics Happy Mondays got up to  was also good to see a lot of British comic actors such as Peter Kay in there! But then there were parts where it dragged, or just seemed like it was trying to be a bit too different and it didnt really work.

    carry on....
