Lots of words.....
Not a farm house by any chance is it Cap? You should see the kind of corners that have been cut in our place, needless to say I'm ecstatic (and also shitting myself) that we have a date for moving down the road!
Father in law told my wife earlier that we move on the 1st December, just need to sort out money transfer and get all the bills changed over to my name.

Slightly off topic but have you still got the carbon fibre hub/s you made years back or did it/they die? (can't remember if you made just one or a pair!)

Really hope you pull this off Ads, also really intrigued to see the dampening effects if they ever see a trail!

Yeah, there looks to be some sort of gluey stuff. Thanks for the heads up on that, will investigate...
A long rolled thread doesn't work on its own, I just fell on my arse trying
The welded eyelets works to ~145kg though! Normal spoke tension is about 100, a quick bit of maths reckons one single spoke might see 200kg maximum during a very bodged landing... I plan to make a jig to test that full 200kg load, but for now...
The two of you weighing 145kg makes me feel like a right fat b*****d

Some of the cheaper Onza's did come with a 20" rear wheel instead of a 19" as it was cheaper for them to spec

The Zoo is light years ahead of the Onza, if you can afford the Zoo it's a bit of a non brainer

Might be some cheap Tora's going.....

So I'm pretty sure everyone here has seen or heard of custom bike frames made using bamboo for the main tubes. Regularly see adverts for them on social media and occasionally get the odd review or magazine article about them but what really caught my eye a few minutes ago is this bad boy:-
Discuss....

Ordered a set of 9mm end caps and a Superstar 9mm quick release through axle last night as I was sure I'd left mine on an old bike I sold.
Just had a quick look in my other toolbox and bloody found them
Intelligent me would send the new ones back and get my money back, actual me will probably keep them both and spend more money hunting down another front Pro 2 to sit in my spares box gathering dust with my other rear.....

Yes, I got a pair from Phil Williams when he was having a big clear out.
Just a warning that you might end up switching them out. I did the same on a compy 24 I built years ago and they weren't very good though that could have been the rotors fault.
Also fitted a standard Echo to the front of my current 24 Adamant with a 200mm rotor and whilst the lever might not be as good as a Shimano the brake was still gash hence me buying that BB7 off you!
I may stand to be corrected however and if so I've got a spare XT lever I'll be swapping with the Echo.

Have you already got the Echo calipers?

I'm sure people used to ride the old mk1 frames with a 120 x 17° stem but not sure how much the geo has changed since then...

Looks and sounds good! What are the square patches in the back garden? Guessing the 103 year old didn't have two trampolines back there...
I'm pretty sure it's where he had a caravan for his mother in law to live in years ago.
Scandalous to think he bought it in the early 70's for about £5000...

Very true! I read it like Mike was just rolling it down the road checking something in preparation for an MOT, rather than on the way to the centre itself.
Ah, I got the full story on FB the other day when it happened

Similar situation to Ali here. Family friend who lived down the road from the farm died a few weeks ago (he was 103) and he left a clause in his will that would give my father in law a discount on buying his house from his family when he died due to all we've done for him over the years and it backs onto one of our fields (see screenshot and crude drawing).
After it being valued at £385,000 we've been told we can have it for £285,000 (could be slightly less) and his daughter just wants it gone fully furnished so the plan is for all the family to club together to put a lump down on it then hopefully me and the wife get a mortgage to cover the rest and we move in. Needs a bit of work doing, mostly removing old person decorating, but it's pretty much ready to go.
Been living on top of each other here for 7yrs now so fingers crossed we can sort it and finally get our own space again.
Trying not to get too excited but it all seems really promising.

So were you 'driving it' on a road without an MOT when he reversed into you? That could suck balls for you... Or was it still in MOT from last year?
Doesn't matter, as long as it has an appointment you're allowed to drive it to a MOT test centre without a valid test

Anyone done it? Can't find much on the search and I'm struggling to find a (cheap) replacement front caliper for my Hope!
Rotor is a 200mm standard Mono Trial if that makes a difference?

The NHS (in particular the fracture department in Stockport) can suck a dick.
Spent 4hrs here last week waiting with my son (10:10 appointment, got seen at 13:10!) and now looking like another long wait after one of the clinic doctors just hasn't shown up!
