Went to see Goldie Lookin Chain at Manchester Academy last night. Considering these boys are 49/50 f**k me could they rap, was surprised at how clean and precise they still were! Great laugh, definitely glad I went!

I really wish I'd bought the 26" full build of this for my daughter when CRC were going through the ringer. Think they got down to about £300 for a full build or £70ish for the frame only! 🙈
-
Yeah couldn't realistically turn it down, was only 40mins drive to pick it up as well!

Just got back from picking this bargain up, £140 off eBay 😃 Hope Tryall edition front brake, Avid SD5 rear vee with some red pads on cnc backings, Hope stem, seat clamp and some Trialtech high risers. First bike I've been on in years that just feels amazingly comfy, pretty sure these are the same geo as the original mk1 Fourplay (correct me if I'm wrong) which I always wanted but they seemed to disappear off the face of the earth. Very happy boy!

Another new bike tomorrow, blagged a mint 2012 Inspired Element off ebay for £136 cause the seller was concerned the winner was a scammer so gave me a 2nd chance offer at what I bid for it 😅

BB will be too low, would be good for basics like track stands and stuff but I assume you can manage them already

I'm 6'2" and currently ride a 20" (or mod) and I know of other tall riders that do but personally I'd suggest a 26. If your lad is riding at the skatepark might be worth trying to get hold of a more streety 26" bike like an Inspired to give you a few more options of what to ride

Just had a google about RB levers and you had one of those in an 04 and said it was sweet, sure the Echo rim brake levers were very similar. I know the disc brake levers look the same but don't work as they are very slightly different....
-
One for the oldskool in here, am I right in thinking that Echo rim brake lever blades fit on 04 style maggie lever bodies? Can't remember if I'm getting my wires crossed as it's been that long and I always ran 05 levers in the past when I started riding again!
-
Centred on the rim is better, one way might catch the tyre, other way might slip off the rim. If the grind is wearing off then needs redoing

If you go for a shit beforehand I reckon you could get 200 👍

Been waiting for the cheeky link to appear 🤣 Banned!

What did you go for in the end? Never got any info off my lad, he's as forgetful as me 😅

Bit of a random one but chatting to a lad my son works with at True North Cycles and he put me on to some new cheapish sealed flat pedals so I bought a set for my unicycle. Now I always associated Oxford with motorcycle locks and clothing but these are ridiculous, got them for £26 as well! The pins are really grippy and the pedals themselves are nice and big and flat. Think I'm gonna pick up another set for my On One as well if not my Python also, definitely recommend if anyone is on the lookout for new pedals!

Need advice for my first street trial bike
isitafox replied to Vlbvn's topic in Beginners Trials Chat
I'd personally go with the Hex, I need bikes with a long reach and have had numerous 24's but no matter what the setup I never felt properly comfortable on them (thats not to say tall people don't work on them I just never could). The Hex can be equally as spinny as a 24 as well so you won't lose out there. -
That skinny rear triangle makes those tyres look like they're straight off a fat bike!

Finally after months of searching managed to get hold of another semi decent 29er unicycle. Prices have gone ridiculous (the exact same build 29er muni I paid £180 delivered for about 8yrs ago is now £480!) but blagged this for £120 as I wasn't in a rush for the guy to post it. Bonus as well as it came with Tensile V brake adapters I can sell!

Can land on some occasional bargains, there were a few GT full sus ebikes a few months back for £2500-2600 as GT been having problems so everything got reduced but yeah generally. Plus the full fat full sus bikes are absolute tanks, my lads Merida is a monster compared to the carbon half fat Heckler they've got as a demo bike but again the prices are ridiculous. Will see if him or his boss have any suggestions or what to avoid
-
You can get two types they refer to as either full fat or half fat, that Giant looks like a full fat bike but as it's a hardtail it doesn't matter as much as you've not got the extra weight from the rear suspension to deal with. Can ask my lad what the motors are like as he works with ebikes a lot, that would be the deciding factor for me or can see what he'd recommend based on your budget, definitely don't want to go full sus?

It's a hard life working in a bike shop apparently. My eldest who's 17 was given this by one of the distributors yesterday to ride for a few months cause he had it in his van... https://www.norco.com/bikes/mountain/trail/optic/24-optic-C1/ (ignore the semi renovated hallway, it's only been 11 months 😅)
-
You might get away with just squeezing them in
-
Just use superglue/Cyanoacrylate whenever I've done them in the past

Just spotted an ancient clip on the latest Fail Army, anyone identify the rider? (I'm assuming a Paul Mitchell but the name doesn't ring a bell)
