  1. Sorry to hi jack the thread, thought i might aswell put this in here rather than start a new one. Basically, im doing okay with pedal ups, and rolling gaps, i can get on to curbs from about a bike and halfs length. The problem is in getting height, i can get up two pallets and thats about it, i think im going to fast because im just ploughing into the side of it. Any tips guys? Thanks alot
  2. Just get a rubber band and colour it in.
  3. Have to say the purple bolts are my favourite bit.
  4. I always eat flapjacks when i go on my XC bike, for slow release energy. Suppose trials comps would be more mental focus aswell, best advice would to keep hydrated.

Not sure about the seat, might look okay. Please dont paint it though, looks good and it still has its stickers on, sure its got a few scrathces and what not, it all just adds to the character, you'll be robbing it of its identiti, keep it as it is!
  6. I like listening to Jamie T, both his albums are pretty good, or if you need to get pumped, Papa Roach. If your into hip hoppy stuff try Aesop Rock, think his albums called None Shall Pass.
  7. Well the spacing on my forks is about 80mm, my Vee mounts on the back are more like 90 something, so it would never really fit. I think thats because its just a mountain bike one, which is why it fits fine on the front. Rather than a trials specific one built for wider rims and stuff. So if the spacing of your rear mounts is more than 80mm, it wouldnt fit, you could file it out to 84 max id say, but otherwise it shouldnt fit. The only one i can see fitting the rear is the Echo one on tarty, its a bit more expensive, but im sure its worth it, just check your spacing before you buy one. Plus it looks pimp as. http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/vbrake_boosters/echo_vbrake/c106p13.html
  8. I got a Brand X one for christmas, i run it on the front. It seems to work pretty good, for a fiver you cant go wrong anyway. Only problem was it wouldnt fit on the back for some reason, the spacing was off, but only by a few mm, you could just file it out i suppose. Also its a cream colour, not white like the picture
  9. I much prefer mine with a brake, most people i know only do it to look cool, or so they dont 'pussy out' on things. Fair enough there are some really good brakeless riders, but if you need to take the brake off to help you do stuff, you need to man up. Same goes for saving weight, how much can a brake weigh?
  10. Ahhreyt, If its painted then im not sure if clears will stop it coming off, they work on anodized ones, cause they are fine on mine. Even if it does take it off, you'll still get better brakes, worth a shot.
  11. Best bet would be to get some clear pads, think fly do a set that are supposed to be good, called zapatas or something. However it will wear off eventually, due to friction and stuff, and may i ask what this rare rim is aswell?
  12. That is very nice. Chrome is the bomb, shame some idiot painted my Handsome Dog before i got it
  13. Great video, that second song is awesome, it was on tony hawks pro skateboaring on the psone, havent heard that in time.
  14. The guy in the white pants is awesome, almost as awesome as his pants themselves.
  15. This happened to my friends profile on his bmx, i thought it was funny how the spokes didnt break though. I assume radial lacing wont help either.
  16. Which generation is it? When mine freezes i just reset it and its fine, press the menu button and the centre button and hold them down till the apple logo comes up on the screen, mines a 2nd Gen though so i dont know if it will fix anything on yours. Hope it helps anyway.

    Rim Help

Didnt Fly used to, or still make a drilled rim?, surely that would be better than using a trials rim, I imagine they'd buckle quite easily.

    Magura's

Right, after taking everything in, i think V's would be alot better for me, seeing as i dont really know alot about the magura's and how they work, i think id be able to get some v's working alot better, and if there cheeper, then thats only a good thing, ive only just started, so i think it'd be better to learn using them and upgrade later. Thanks alot guys:) , once again, sorry if you've all been over it before

    Magura's

I understand where your coming from, there only tektro ones, so i dont think they'll ever be brilliant, but i am torn between getting a magura, or something like an Avid SD 7, cause alot of people do say V's can be just as good as Maguras, would it be possible to build up a decent V brake system for less than the price of Maguras, or close to anyway?

    Magura's

Yeah, its like a silver block that steps down on one side, so would it not really make a difference if i got HS33's or the HS11's? are the pads they take the same? Thanks alot guys

    Magura's

Sorry if you've all gone over this thousands of times, but i couldnt find it anywhere. After getting sick of my V - Brakes on my Handsome Dog unclipping and me falling on my backside, i think its time to get a magura, so ive got a few questions, seeing i dont know much about them. Firstly, are the HS33's or the HS11's better? cause there both the same price on tarty, and whats diference? Next, what do i need to make them work, i think i have four bolt mounts on my frame, so will everything i need come in the kit, or will i need to buy anything else? Last, are the pads that come with them any good? im not doing massive gaps or anything, so i presume they'll do, and how long roughly do they last? and do you recommend 2 or 4 finger levers? Thanks alot guys

    Tgs

Some impressive figures there, but ive only just started, can some one please explain what TGS is, i keep seeing it, but i dont know what it means Thanks
  24. Doing a lap is definaltely up on my list of things to do, which is quite big considering i cant drive yet, plus most of them involve cars. It's killing me at the moment, i tried to persuade my Mum and Dad to get me a bug (1302, German Looker, Yeah!) to do up for when i can drive, but they wouldnt have it. Ahwell, tinkering with my Grandads dub will have to do.
  25. Hi everyone, thought i'd post my grandads Bug on here. Haven't seen many aircooleds, where are they all? It's a 1968 Type 1, Pre 67 panels allround, its had a body off restoration, full respray in 'Guinea Blau'. Lowered one spline at the back with an adjustable beam up front. Rollin on riveras, not the most popular wheel, but they look better than Empi 8's i think. It's currently got a 1600 engine which I built with my Grandad, well, i built the whole thing with him really. He's looking for an Oval window Beetle to restore (1953-1957 i think) so if anyone knows of one PM me please! Hope you like it Cheers
