  1. just changed my chain to a kmc kool chain every time i put a bit of power my chain jumps,it seemed to be the rear sprocket,so i changed it it still jumped,so i changed the jockey wheel on the chain tensioner and it still jumps it is 5 mm off centre with the sprocket on the cranks would that little bit make it jump?
  2. id say it is down to the size of your purse! hope pro 2 is cheap( compared to the king) and very reliable the king is such a pimp hub! very responsive and as long as you bed them in properly before going made and give it the odd service there fine had mine for a while not with bearly any skips
  3. that sounds like the kiddy there, and i think it is an original middle burn round so ill go flip it round cheers
  4. further to that are the dropouts on the effect going to be 116 or 135? im at a loss to i really want to get one but i havnt ridden a 24" before and really dont want to spend the money on something i might not enjoy riding
  5. just put my new chain on(kmc kool chain) and after every half rotation of the cranks the chain rides round the sprocket on the middleburns and gets caught up,it looks like the chain is too wide is there any way round this?
  6. that wasnt ment in a negative way mate i apreciate the help
  7. very true although i havnt riden all those years ive only (within the last month) got back into riding
  8. i reckon you need to trust both yourself and your bike 100% ive revamped my bike completly so i can "trust" it as there were bits ready to brake on it,its worked to an extent i can gap further and drop higher just need more practice at taps and hooks! shin pads helmet are a good start for confidence building i got a pair of mx shin and nee pads cant complain there! just struggling on finding a helmet a like at a price i like! another thing to add to that is to ride with someone that wants to do the same,my mate i ride with is always trying to better me which in turn pushes me to try to better him although we rode bout 4-5 years back we have come on leeps and bounds in the last month or so we have been riding.
  9. just wondering what everyone feels is the pros and cons of diffrent wheel size? does 24" make it that much easier to ride street? is it possible to ride street on a 20"? by street i meen manuels bunny hops spins and the like
  10. cheers all answered my question perfectly and very thurely davey gone for the kmc kool chain
  11. bigmac it seemed to me he was asking a diffrent question i didnt want to flood someone eles' post with my questions and i havnt ever trusted half chains they look scary
  12. whats the best chain? and where to buy it from? ive just noticed tartybikes are out of the Trialtech Lite Z610 HX, 3/32'' i wanted is it any good?
  13. will the kmc kool chain fit on my midleburns? and whats that trials tech chain like? i noticed in the picture on tarty bikes its got kmc written on it is it made by kmc too?
  14. holly f^^king sh^^e thats not only pushing the boundry of trials i think thats pushing the boundries of bike riding in general, danny has to have made a pact with the devil! ive had too watch it 4 times straight just to get my head round some of that lovly piece of editing too a round of applause for all involved that truelly was spectacular!
  15. holly crap! you did get your money back though yeh? pay pal are really good with things like that i think its a close coin toss though like i said above there is nothing more satisfying that pimping your own bike, rather than pimping a half pimped second hand bike and although you could get a bargin on a second hand one. people tend to look after new bikes with a lot more care
  16. i know there is a slave there! i was mearly pointing out with a picture what was said further up
  17. i had a similar problem, to get round it i completly flushed the system threw and lubed everything up then bled it off the bike and pumped the brake for a while taping it (keeping the lever up high) turned out to be some trapped air in the slaves i assumed because after bleeding it a couple of times it returned to normal
  18. mole grips are similar to pliers, pliers will do the job too these are mole grips if you cut were the picture shows it should get you outa trouble
  19. think you hit the nail on the head there, thats the best way to do it without damaging anythng although you may have to cut the mounts a little, next time you wont round them off though!
  20. i use front disc and rear hs33 with a grind,i would run rear disc as well but i dnt have the mounts on the frame or the hub but id say use what ever you profer
  21. seems to me like the slaves arent being grabed by the mounts enough, under the edges of the top mounts there is a little lip file that down a little bit (not a lot though) and there tighten up a bit more but be careful not to round the mounts,it worked for me so fingers crossed itll work for you
  22. lmao go on sunshine less of the caps there pretty solid frames but if you reckon it flex's to much get a booster, just purchased one for mine and my brake feels solid as a solid rock
  23. ive bought second hand and new before and i must admit there is nothing better than getting a new bike pimping it yourself i reckon you learn a lot more about your riding style that way. although buying second hand can be a right bargin sometimes!
  24. in my opinion there isnt a right and wrong stem and handle bar combo, your best bet would be to ride as many peoples bikes as possible(with similar geo to yours) to find out what feels best for you.ive run short stems long stems medium stems short bars long bars riser bars trials bars the lot,and ive finaly settled on riser bars with a monty stem but on the other hand my mate found his perfect combo first time he bought a stem and handle bar combo, just get out there and fiddle.
  25. completly dismantle ir and clean it with hot soapy water and thuraly dry it out! that should do it and if your not comfortable with that you could use a foot pump to pump air threw it although that will not completly get rid of the dot 4
