  1. some engineering firm told me it would be more dangerous to try and helicoil it,and yes it is a steel frame also to be honest i couldnt afford to pay someone to braze/wield it all on and this'll b fine for a short while
  2. wow now that does float my boat that was rather smooth if i do say so myself
  3. wow! right or wrong link!? not that it really matters that was some smooth stuff there
  4. lol sorry to laugh but to save weight you could always pump your tyres up with helium lmao.but seriously start saving! its safer to buy lighter ones than make your original ones lighter
  5. lmao that is pathetic! he came prepered for work not for stealing a bike the police really are shocking
  6. oh and i missed a bit out there i rang the police and told them id located it (now bear in mind as far as i can remember it was a prototype so its the only one ever) the police said we currently have no officers availible but we would advise you not to go and get it but we will investigate it when someone is availible! i meen come on how stupid did they think i was and i practicly handed it to them on a plate and they still couldnt solve the crime lol
  7. i ment that the brake mounts arent solid like on most frames there just a bent bita sheet steel, and worst bodge? ive seen a lot worse! and itll do the trick untill i cn afford a new frame
  8. i had a bit of trouble with the threads stripping out of my brake mounts i was told i couldnt helicoil it.the brake mount is only about 3mm thick so i drilled the frame bit of studding and my brake is as solid as a rock
  9. normally my mate whining on at me how ever ill listen to anything with a decent fast beat rock/rap/dance/trance/techno become a bit partial to drum and bass(and not the chavvy s%^t the proper stuff none of that blah de blah mc'n)
  10. i completly agree its a sad world when you can not even leave your bike outside a shop without some selfish twats doing something like that had a right touch last night! two cops stood by our bikes while we went in the local shop i had my waynio stolen quite a while back lukily the stupid prat that nicked it took it into the bike shop i worked in and i got it back all they had done was nicked my decent wheels and put crappy cheap ones on it( the bike was offended by that) thankfully i got the bike back! the bike was in my shed with only one padlock on it! lesson learnt it stayed in my room after that!
  11. here are the pics of my bodge works a treat and my brake has never been this solid!
  12. i for one could be "bothered" to click the link,i like the blue looks like a pretty nice frame there and its simple if people do not want to click the link they wont?
  13. i completly serviced my maguras today and lever piston was a bit sticky, when i went to place them back on my bike the mounts rounded off! now im basicly screwed arent i? any one got any temporery bodges untill i cn afford a new frame?
  14. doesnt that defeat the object though? dont know about you but i dont fancy carrying a freeza around with me while i ride
  15. sounds like a damn good swap! that guy got n e thing eles he wants to swap i got a black and white tv in doors i fancy a 32" plasma. but tartybikes is the best online store ive come accross for trials, sum highstreet bike shops can get you bits in but they hike up the price a little!
  16. i dont think i explained myself well there im running a hope c2 (by far my favourite disc brake of all time) on the front and a maggy hs33 on the rear,i had this problem the other week so i changed the lever and then it does the same thing the slaves havnt come out of the mounts, the pistones return fully and work perfectly, its water bled ive cleaned it and still cnt find a problem so it might be a shiny new brake for me!
  17. go for this ive ridden 2 of them frames and had similar problems to you, although the cheaper option for the moment would be to make adjustments on handle bars stem handle bar hieght ect. but another thing i found was changing my gearing helped made me feel a bit more comfortable on them frames but didnt help once id got a longer frame though
  18. ill bear that in mind when i have it in pieces tonight cheers! and i wish it was sumthin simple like that but on my other lever the TPA didnt actually work the thread had snapped off and is this possible to have effected both levers within a week?
  19. i run mine on de-ionized water parently its got a higher boiling point than normal water!? thing is i also changed levers when i re=bled the brake so im swaying towards a busted slave but again cnt see n e fluids oozing out
  20. you didnt help yourself there at all mate and have you tried to IM the person with the bike on sale? to mention to them you are interested?
  21. correct, but i think that the other guy has the liquified version which if memory serves me rightly can not be made into solid form. go get you self a block of roofing tar pal cut it or melt it and mold it into a handy shape if that suites you
  22. that i think ill try inbetween work and step daughters perants evening cheers kinda seems wierd though i expected there to be at least a bit of fluid and what does everyone bleed maguras with these days?
  23. i completly agree, i feel that if an animal is bread for human consumption weather it be a chicken/pig/cow that that is there purpose in life is it not? but exotic meat by that im assuming crocodile?kangaroo?emu? that sorta thing? to which i dnt agree with at all becuase the animals are not bread for out consumption to me that is inhumane and quite sickening
  24. i re bled my hs33's the other day because they were shall we say CRAP while i was out riding yesterday they just seemed to die (lever pulled in easily and extra half an inch) i can not see any visable leak, and they still hold well just slightly anopying the lever pulling in that much further any one eles come accross this problem? or can anyone offer advice to fixing the problem? cheers
  25. i find that relentless stuff is great wakes you up toomalso seems to get rid of my hangovers too failing that creatine is good too!
