  1. Try cleaning the pads and re-grinding the rim. I presume you've set the brake up properly, and installed the cable faultlessly.
  2. They look good Smo, where's the best web site to find out how to do them for myself? I had a go at comic book art colouring using photoshop v7, its SOOOOO time consuming i got too impatient and left them unfinished. Good stuff :turned:
  3. I understand what you mean, but you've shot yourself in the foot with the last sentence in brackets, (on some angles). If you dont believe you can do 9, you never will, it will only be on lucky occassions when you nail it. On the other hand i understand where your coming from on a different angle on the same level, sure, you cant think a little about how to backwheel 9 pallets and then do it right away, but when you get up to doing it, if you dont believe you can do it, then most likely it wont happen. I see what you mean though. Its a shame theres so little content on training the mind in comparison to training the body, e.g. your riding technique, after all, that is half the battle, in theory, and in reality if we trained our minds as much as we did our bodies, e.g. muslce memory and pedal timings etc. we'd be such better, more professional, more consistent riders. That TRA article sounds awesome, i love that guy.
  4. This may be of help to some of you. Its an article that looks at self belief and the mental aspect of sport and competition sport. If like me you know your physically capable but your mind is inhibiting you, then take a look in, this could be of help. A basic technique i've learnt from the article, which i utilise when riding is to say in my mind, what i believe im going to do , or what i believe i am, as a rider. For example, " i believe i can make this up to rear wheel, like second nature, as naturally as possible, im naturally superb at trials" or " i believe im the best rider out of this group of riders" and when trackstanding "i believe i can effortlessly balance here in the same spot and catch my breath" . I dont want to blabble on all day about what i think and believe, have a read. http://www.positivehealth.com/permit/Artic...NLP/cohen39.htm
  5. Just sounds like you need to get used to the stock a bit more. To be honest it seems that simple from over here. If you can backwheel, and stick it to rear wheel on your mod, so can you on your stock, its all reasonably similar, technique wise, the secondary thing to look at would be muscle memory, the more you practise the more your muscles will learn to remember how to respond etc. You could do something as simple as backwheeling a curb or 1-2 pallets, keep trying it for an hour, you WILL get the front wheel up and "stick it to rear" your front wheel doesn't weigh a tonne does it ? :ermm:
  6. I've used tap water in my maggies for several months, NO problems.
  7. Hi, Quite simply, i was wondering if any of you had some tips for pedal-upping to rear wheel going up-hill. You need more speed, right? but there must be other things that change in your technique. Im only talking about small, but noticable inclines. Thanks.
  8. At the very start just seeing another rider ride inspired me, the uniqueness and physicality was so fascinating. SO, what do you do next? buy a bloody bike and experience the joys for yourself. Now a days, i ride trials because its both mentally challenging, physically challenging and is so much fun. You can be creative in the lines you take, you can go big and small and still have fun. There are so many possibilities. I find it really rewarding as well, doing long gaps, nailing them perfect, it just feels great to, like when you bunny hop to rear going really fast and tap your front wheel, or doing front> rear wheel switches going up things, it does make you feel good. There's always a risk of danger as well, which makes it more stimulating, and plus its never easy, is it? you always have to try hard, which makes it that bit even more rewarding when you achieve your goals. And to add to that there are extra benefits, such as this forum where we can all unit and discuss are interests and share are thoughts with like minded people, i know its the same for many other hobbies, but still, atleast the community is a good one, well majority wise.

    Pc Game Cheats

Not sure if this helps, If you want to replace that file in the FarCry directory, to make it easier for yourself, first find the original you are replacing. Make a note of what folder it is in. To find it there are 2 options, that come to me, 1. Go to start>search, search for the file you want to replace. 2. Go to your "my computer" , then "local disc C" then programme files, then look for the folder far cry is contained in and search for the file. When you find the file you want to replace, simply paste the new file into the folder the old one is contained in. Your replacing the exact same named file with one of the same name, hence the PC will ask you if you want to over-write the previous file, say "yes". or "ok" or whatever. As thommo said, the tilde key is the one in the top left of your keyboard, left of the 1 key and above the tab key. The console allows you to alter the way the game runs by changing the inputs the game uses. It also allows you to change what keys do what in the game, AKA binding a key. Plus numerous other functions. Alot of games have consoles, e.g. Half life, Counter strike, Call of Duty.

    Pad Reviews

Pads: Koxx Bloxx Time used: 1.5-2 months Rim used: PLANET X BMF (N) plus Onza/Alex 20" Grind: Yes Brake used: Used on 2 standard magura set ups, one on my Zebdi Mk5 with V booster and Mag steel booster, the other on my TMAG 2001 mod with NO booster. What is your opinion of a working brake: A working trials brake, for me, for the rear especially is a brake which locks and holds under stress/ locks up quickly. How do they compare to previous pads you have used: Similar stopping power to all pads i have used on a ground rear rim, Monty Clears, Magura Black, OLD version ORANGE plaz pads, Megamo agent orange. However, they wear 4x slower than mag blacks and double that for the rest. e.g. 1:4:8 pad wear ratio, 1 being koxx bloxx, 4 being mag black, 8 being the other aforementioned. Review: Koxx bloxx: Lock and hold under most levels of stress encountered from my amateur level trials riding. Lock up reasonably quickly, but not as quick/responsive as softer pads e.g. Monty Clear. Wear at a slow rate on my ground rims, both a BMF and Onza/Alex, plus the grinds were harsh. (Onzaboymark, n.b. addition to pad review format) Recommended (if yes/no, why?): Yes. Why? They hold well even under high amounts of breaking stress, they wear slowly over a period of months, they lock up reasonably quickly.
  14. Just out of interest/ curiousity Neil, when you approach a move, like a gap or sidehop or whatever what kinda thoughts go through your mind? Like, for example do you concentrate on your specific technique? or d'you go for it based on instinct? etc. ?
  15. Neil your soooooooooooooo good, limitless talent! I really liked the vid, it was put together nicely, the song wasn't a bad choice and the riding content brilliant/superb. (N) :P Make a signature frame or something

    Bike Pics

Should work now. Tis my Mk5. I feel it would look nicer in silver perhaps, the current paint job is too complex and dynamic.
  17. I like my mk5, geometry could be better, I don't break many things so hopefully my frame should stay sweet for atleast a year, only cost me £180 new, £100 for a crash relpacement, so £280 for atleast 2 years worth of frame, as long as it lasts a year each time.
  18. They look like green Monty clear pads, do the coustelliers use 35mm pads on the rear? I wonder if they're scrented, I once had some old skate wax, they scented the block..smelt very nice.. Look cool, who knows how good they are, seem reasonably priced.
  19. I currently have a dicta brand front freewheel on my 2001 onza t-mag mod, a while back after tensioning the chain too much the dicta freewheel has never been the same, it doesn't sound too healthy so before it causes me some injury I want to upgradde to an ACS CLAW freewheel, however im not really sure if the ACS claw will fit, has anyone used an ACS claw on an onza mod, at the front, with its original BB, will I need a longer BB axle to be able to run an ACS claw? any info would help,. thanks.

    Chain Slack

if you tension the chain too much it compresses the front free-wheel, and that leads to all kinds of funny sounds coming from you free-wheel, also the cranks spin when you wheel your bike along if there is too much chain tension as there is more resistance that way... if you have it too slack on the other hand it will rattle and hit the chain stays, scratch paint etc.. sooooo have it at just over medium pressure

    World Records.

i saw that in MBUK, thats the record as regards to bunny hopping over a pre-measured pole, however at 51.5inches it was a side-hop over the pole, and that was successfuly done by a 19 year old spanish guy called Benito Ross, regardless of wheel size a French rider Bruno Arnold holds the 26 inch record with a sidehop of 46.5inches, Martyn Ashton achieved a 42inch sidehop over a bar live on TV, on a show called roy castle's record breakers....
