  1. It says I can use both 4 and 5.1... But I can't seem to find any on eBay... It's all for cars/motorbikes...
  2. I bought some of those anyway so I'll try tham, see what they bite and grip like, if they're no good, I'll buy some others. Could someone also point me in the right direction of the right kind of hydraulic fluid. I am going to give it a full service and bleed etc...
  3. Just fancy changing them as they haven't ever been changed since I owned them (never had a reason to but fancy a change) and wondered if these are actually any good as they seem pretty cheap, and if not, which ones would people use? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hope-Mono-6-Pot-Disc-Brake-Pads-6Ti-DH-Six-Ti-Pots-Ti6-/140722423992?pt=UK_sportsleisure_cycling_bikeparts_SR&hash=item20c3b5c8b8
  4. After realising their is some play in my rear wheel, I've now tightened up the cones, and there is still some play, so do I just need to go to my bike shop and ask them to put new bearings in it for me? Or is their something else it could be that I can check myself?

I imagine lots of people have lots of frames for sale. Might help if you say even what size you're after... And in the Wanted section
  6. I'll try tightening up the cones a bit, cheers for that. As for the V, will I need to get a matching one, because I don't know which one to search for?
  7. Well I've just picked up my Onza, and when I was there everything seemed in order and as it should. Now I've got home I've given it a more thorough going over, and noticed the back brake really leaning to one side, then spotted the "arm tensioner?" is broken, so I took the brake off and then found that the bearings in the wheel have gone (lots of wobble and play?) Took some pictures as I'm not 100% sure what I need to buy (the correct words to search for) so can anyone help? Or is there anything I can do to fix it without having to buy a new part? Any help would be appreciated as I haven't even been able to take it out yet
  8. Give the wheels a good shake side to side to make sure the bearings are okay, check round welds to make sure their is no cracks in the frame or otherwise. Make sure if it's got hydraulics that the resovoirs are sealed and not leaking. I think that's about it... As far as main things go, the rest is common sense really. EDIT: When shaking the wheels make sure the opposite brake is on, otherwise it will hold the wheel in place and you won't notice the play in the wheel if it's gone. So hold the back brake to check the front and front brake to check the back
  9. Brakes mean nothing if they are on a tire/old frame though buddy. Then again, I know of an '05 Da Bomb that's still alive near me because I sold it to him many moons ago, and that's even got the original paint job
  10. It certainly did keep me busy lol.. Its weird how good you feel when a really stuck bolt like that finally turns
  11. Glad you said thats a nice frame Dan its very similar to what I'm picking up today.
  12. It did, I've ordered some now, thanks a lot bud
  13. I figured they would be a bit better in terms of feel, I think I'll be investing in a set of foam grips. And I meant is there anything else I can do to make life a bit easier for myself, in novice terms. Like I was thinking of getting HS33's front and back, but not sure if there is a slightly cheaper option that would be okay for practicing? It won't be yet because I want to get comfy on it and stuff first. But looking for stuff I can change and upgrade to make it better.
  14. Getting my new Onza T Pro tomorrow, and was thinking of upgrading the brakes firstly, but not sure which to go with that won't break the bank, so wanting some advice on which ones to go with, won't be straight away as the brakes on it currently work absolutely fine, but I would like a bit more peace of mind. Secondly is grips, I've been thinking about trying out foam grips on my jump bike for a while, but don't know if their is actually any advantages/disadvantages to rubber grips I usually use, what's the difference? I'd presume foam are a bit comfier, but is that the only difference? And lastly, is their anything else I can do to upgrade the bike a bit, to make it better for practicing. Bear in mind I'm a complete novice, can't even back hop yet... :$
  15. Thanks and yeah the other was probably better, but it needed a front brake, and new grips, and a new back tyre if I remember rightly, and they wouldn't budge on price, so I figured this is better, even though they are only V-Brakes, I'll get a pair of Maggies at some point. And provided it's as comfortable on me as my old mod, I don't have any intention of selling it anytime soon Cheers guys.
  16. Been offered this for £160, and it's close to me, so was just wondering if people think it's actually worth it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/320878169576?ssPageName=STRK:MEBOFFX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1427.l2649
  17. The head of the bolt was too thin and warped to get mole grips onto it, they just wouldn't shut, I tried all sorts, in the end I resorting to putting a screw driver head in the center of the allen key head, and battering it with a hammer, it seemed to vibrate it free. But the disc is still perfect and not gone out of shape, so I'm happy.
  18. Sorry if you're not allowed to post other riders videos, only your own, but I thought this was definitely worth a watch, and given that it only has 21k views, it seems a lot of people are missing out. Give it a watch
  19. I offered 170, giving me 30 change for fuel/snacks on the way etc... And he said no, wouldn't accept below 190. Stuff it lol, plenty more about
  20. Bit of brute force never hurt anyone... Apart from my hand and nearly my leg
  21. WOOO! So after I smacked my hand several times with a hammer, broke 2 screwdrivers, got some metal splinters, and nearly put a screwdriver through my leg, the bolt is finally out! Looking in a rather sorry state.
  22. Firstly, thanks a lot for the link, as you can see I definitely need a new set of bolts lol. And yeah that's what the "without f---ing it" bit was about, I don't want to risk trying to drill it or anything and risk either bending my disc or really badly scratching it or anything. Wasn't sure if maybe somebody had another trick to use. Already tried lol, it's pretty well held in
  23. Well I did post this in the other topic but figured I'd make a new one so people actually see it (it was a few posts in on the other topic) So yeah, I'm looking to do a bit fo servicing on my brake, but can't get one of the bolts out as an allen key head has been snapped in it (by the previous owner) so anyone got any ideas? I'm also wanting to get a new set of bolts but not sure which I need off Tarty, if anyone could shed some light on that also. Heres a picture of the current bolts... And the best picture I could get of the offending bolt...
