  1. It winds me up too, especially when you tell them they've spelled it wrong and they say 'oh yeah I know, I always do that, I can't help it' (or once converted into Chav; o yh i no i alwyz do that cnt hlp it) YES, yes you can help it, you know you're doing it. STOP doing it, then you'll have stopped doing it and the world will be fine again.
  2. Someone buy my bike! :(

  3. Hmmm, is my bike overpriced? :/ (Echo Hifi in classifieds)

  4. Got to admit the Hope Mono 6Ti I had was that good I can't see how anything could be better. Any more bite and overall grip and it would feel either completely on or completely off IMO. I've not used Saint, so I won't bash them in any way, but for me, the 6Ti was a beast of a brake!
  5. We kinda thought the same, but again, I just didn't want to end up with a much more valuable bike for mine, or vice versa don't like feeling like I'm ripping someone off lol.
  6. Anyone? Just a rough idea of value of both bikes? Then one of us doesn't end up out of pocket.
  7. Agreed, I wouldn't do a swap via posting, simply because I don't expect someone who doesn't know me to trust me, and vice versa...
  8. Agreed, I'm not really too bothered as long as we're both happy with the swap. But then again, you don't want to swap with someone, then come to sell your bike and find out it's worth about half what the one you swapped was lol. If mines less value or his is, then we can be fair and swap a bit of cash too
  9. Interesting, I kinda thought the same, but I didn't want to give up too early, afterall, it's only been a few days and might seem a bit premature. I also feel a lot more confident onn a 20" for my very very limited ability, it just feels 'right' and like I can throw it around. Even though I know I'm not lol.
  10. Well being quite short (5'9") and not exactly skinny, I thought the bigger of the two would suit me more, but I was wrong lol. I also did wonder about that, but then I have to think is it worth spending the money on decent parts if the end result will feel the same.
  11. Recently had the urge to try trials again and their was a bike close by that I ended up buying, after a few days playing on it (not long I know) it just doesn't feel 'right' but my mates 20" Onza does... I've had both 20" and 26" before and it felt similar again... Is it something you get used to with time or are some people simply not right for a certain size bike? Not had the bike long but just wondering if to put it up for a swap for a 20" if it's not something you just get used to... Opinions please?
  12. Cheers, I'll have a look now, I fancied some High Rollers maybe.
  13. Not the best of pictures lol, will get some shots outside of it tomorrow
  14. Picked this up today, he couldn't remember what year the frame was, so if someone knows, would be most helpful! It's an Echo Hifi 26" frame. Echo drilled rims. Echo curved forks. Hope rear hub. Echo front hub. Echo stem and bars. Hope Mini Mono front brake. Magura HS33 rear. Echo cranks. Onza pedals. Cane Creek headset. Echo maggy clamps. Not perfect, front brake is a bit sticky, thinking it needs a bleed and maybe a bit of a greasing, have to be careful where I grease lol. But it'll do the job for now for testing the water of how much I want to get into trials, or at least, try again. Most important thing for me was it felt comfortable to ride along, that was job one, over looks or spec really. Definitely needs a new rear tyre soon as well, but it'll do the job for now anyway Also, some tyre recommendations would be good, ideally something reasonable but not a bank breaker lol. What do you guys think? I'm pretty chuffed for £270, might be too much, might be a bargain, I'm happy though, so who cares lol.
  15. Yeah I was browsing the classifieds on here... I also really like the Onza Zoot for £215... I used to have an '07 ZOO! as well... I guess I'd be open to trying out a 24" if one came up, but 20" would be more ideal.
  16. Been fancying another bike for a while, I'm not exactly good but enjoy riding trials, for the very little I can do. My mate told me to go to his today he wanted me to look at something, turned out to be a 2010 Onza Bird, with a Maggy HS33 on the rear, he works in a tip and someone had throw it away in parts, so he wanted me to check it over and build it up for him. Got it all built up, just needs a front brake, but aside from that it's good to go. Getting my hands dirty on one again has really re-kindled a spark so I fancy something new but having not been in the scene for quite a good while, I'd like some advice on what to look for. 20" is my favourite size but I'd consider a 26" as well as I enjoyed riding those too. Budget; well I don't really have one, I don't want to spend a silly amount just in case plans don't pan out and it doesn't last long before the 'novelty' has worn off for us both. I rather like his to be honest, but can't find one anywhere for sale, so just wondered what sort of thing I should be looking at? Obviously it'll be second hand, and I'd like to keep it below about £250 if possible. Not bothered if it's anything fancy, because if I do get into it, I can pile some money into the brakes and whatnot. Judging by eBay, I should be able to get something reasonable, but just don't really know what to search for anymore. Anyone got any suggestions in either 20" or 26" flavour?
  17. Yeah I'm not in a major hurry so I'll happily wait for the right one to come along. Shall have a look at Voodoos and Rockriders
  18. I fancy front suspension at least just because it's not exactly smooth ground, if I was rding just on roads thenn yeah but it can be a bit gravelly and pot holey as well so front suspension would be nice. I did think about just looking at upgrading the current bike but I think for what I'd have to spend on new parts, or wait for the right second hand parts to become available, it'd make more sense to just buy something else. I can't remember what model it is, but it was bought about 12 years ago, despite still being in very good condition, it's only done about 500 miles, most of those being done by me. I know I'm not going to get anything particularly amazing, but for now I just want something that will do the job, a friend of mine had a nice Carrera which I think he paid about £450 new for, I can't imagine they'd be much over £250/300 second hand now, just can't remember the model though lol.
  19. I quite fancy getting riding again, down the canal, fields that kind of thing, just pretty general riding and wondered what people would suggest? Strictly speaking if I really wanted I could spend £1,000+ but don't really want to, so just wondering what about £250 would get me on the second hand market? I've been using a Giant (quite an oldish one) but it rides really good, downside is now theirs no suspension and I'd like some on the front, the seats rock hard and the gears are twist grip. So I'd just like to update a bit, I'm not really sure what size I'd need, but I'm 5'10" and a bit overweight (hence wanting to start riding again) Anyone got any suggestions I could at least have a look into?
  20. Link isn't working, plus I don't like 29ers anyway if that's what it was.
  21. Cheers for all the opinions etc... But he won't take £30 for it as it stands, even though he got it free lol, so never mind, I'm not paying a silly price for a pile of bits he got for free.
  22. What makes you say that? The guy who gave it to my friends Dad had it for about 5 years merely as a back up bike, but as he barely used it, he took some bits off and then was chucking the frame away, so at least for the past 5 years it's barely moved lol. And it hasn't lived outside, that's just where the picture happened to be taken Not too bothered about forks as I could buy some. But I don't want to spend like £200-300 doing this frame up when I could probably get something reasonable second hand already built lol. Edit: Also, would someone possibly recommend me something for around the £300 mark that would be decent on trails? I don't mind buying second hand either, so if someone knows of something that's a bit more expensive brand new, I could still have a look for it second hand
  23. Would it be worth getting bits for or not really? I don't want to spend like £1,000 on something then not enjoy it, so want to just start out as cheaply as possible and go up grisedale etc... And see how I like it... Put a bit of weight on over winter and want to lose it Edit: I wouldn't need loads of bits actually either, already got spare 26" innertubes and tyres, he said the shocks may need a rebuild, so could maybe get a rebuild kit for those, then just stuff like grips/seat/chain etc...
  24. My friends Dad got given this frame (saved it from a visit to the tip) a few months ago, he had the intentions of building it up, and then using it on trails etc... But he just never got round to it, so he's said if I want I can buy it off him. I've been interested in getting a mountain bike for a while, so it could be a good opportunity to get a cheap but decent frame as a starting point. Problem is, we've no idea what year it is, or the size, or the value. So just hoping someone on here can identify the year, and then I can have a gander round for some bits and bobs for it and see what the total cost would roughly be. Sorry it's not the greatest picture in the world either :$
