  1. my BB's inner diameter is too wide for a normal crank puller.
  2. I suppose I'd better get a trials crank puller then...
  3. So it was rainy, and i didn't think anything of drying out my bike before putting it away. Took it out a few days later; there was a rust smear on the bashring and it wasn't very loud at all. I've WD40'd the hell outta it, which fixed the sound, but it still tugs. It's not a huge inconvenience, it'd just be nice to fix. Anyone else had this problem?
  4. cool, sorted then. thanks everyone! I'll probably hold out for the hopes...
  5. What about the Echo TR discs, then? They're adjustable. Apparently they're not as strong as Hopes, but are they strong enough? http://www.tartybikes.co.uk/hydraulic_disc_brakes/echo_tr_hydraulic_disc/c558p11614.html
  6. Hmmm... Mixed views, then. I'd expect the hopes to be a lot better, because they're about double the price. And I've definitely seen hopes and echos all over the place. Is there really no adjuster on the maggies, though? On their rim brakes they have them... and if not on the lever, then on the caliper?
  7. http://www.tartybike...c558p11738.html Just been added to tartybikes' website. Just wondering how powerful they are, considering that they're only £90... Does anyone have any experience? & are these just as good as hope tech discs?
  8. No, I'm just building a completely custom mod. it'll have a 19" rear, etc. but my t-vee (my bike at the moment) is a 20" rear.
  9. damnit. how did i not see these?
  10. I have an old Onza budgetbike. One of the ones with two 20" wheels. I've had a lot of trouble trying to find a 20" tyre wider than 2.0"... I'm running a BMX Holy Roller right now which gives close to no real grip. Cannot wait to finish building my new mod. -.- Does anyone know where I can buy a 20", 2.2-2.7" mod tyre?
  11. okay, sorted. could you PM me your number so i can contact you if we get lost then, please?
  12. will it still be icy or not? we can still go if other people are too. completely up to you.
  13. Okay, will do. Thanks. It's a Tektro Gemini. I don't think it's trials specific, but it's just to make my Onza Zoot look a little bit more interesting. Means I don't have to grind the rims, too.
  14. I recently bought a second-hand hydraulic disc brake (troll away). I re-bled it earlier, and I've used industrial-strength wipes to take off some of the ick from the actual disc and the pads. However, I did expect it to give a strong "bite" when I squeezed down hard on the lever, rather than taking another 5 inches to stop me. It's like I've still got small pieces of residue on it from whatever the previous owner has been doing with it... Any idiot-proof ways of getting the rest of the residue off? (That's what I think it is, I did take two hours to bleed the system as well as I could beforehand.) I've been told that putting the relevant parts in a solution of white spirit will get rid of any oils?
  15. "Being infinitely more awesome than you". So there's no actual verb for it? we should make one. they have trials-specific parts, why not trials-specific words?
  16. you can have a play with my zoot if you want? i've never been before either, otb. and i'm bringing a friend too.
  17. Don't know much about it, but had a few people say they'll come. Leicester Crown Court opposite the station. Not sure about times, and too early for decent weather reports.
  18. I usually have my front at around 35psi, and my rear at 20-25. I don't usually use my front wheel for anything interesting, though so I guess that when I get more advanced, I'll reduce the pressure. Oh, and my rear would be a little lower if it was a 19" rim, not a 20". Damn Onza budgetbikes.
  19. I have a problem whilst telling anybody what I was doing at the weekend. I started off in texting by putting "trialsing", which sounded wrong. "trialing" sounded just as bad, and it makes me sound like I'm making a person run around some circuit of death. "riding trials" is a bit long, but sounds right. "running trials" sounds a lot better, but again, it's a bit long. Am I just overthinking this, or do other people have the same problem?
  20. Protest in Leicester town centre. Apparently there's also a protest against the protest, so most likely s***'s gonna hit the fan. http://www.indymedia....indyscaled.jpg ^ this kinda stuff.
  21. Sorted. Might even have a front disc brake for my Zoot by then.
  22. is my calendar wrong? Is that Sunday actually the 13th? :L Well, as long as I actually get to meet someone, I'll be happy.
  23. Can't do 4th, so if I turn up, it'll be the following Sunday (the 12th). I'll probably start a new thread closer to the time, but yeah.
  24. Saturday, Feb 4th Sounds good. I'm all excited about how I get to see other people do it. :L
  25. Nope, I'm not. I've only ever seen a few people around Loughborough before, and the last time was about a year and a half ago...
