  1. Thought it was a bit pants to be honest, and a bit arrogant (no spoilers). It’s entertaining sure, but the story is nonsense. Follows tradition of each bond movie by an actor generally getting worse after the first one.

  2. Emailed px and they responded pretty quick. SRAM cancelled or plain just didn’t send a shipment they were expecting. Apparently another due on the 20th, but they haven’t said what’s actually in it . They said they are still confident of within a month but put the long times on the site as a ‘just in case’. I still think a bit more honesty could have been in order, given it was ‘in stock’ and people had been waiting since October for bikes.

    Here’s to hope.

Bank have decided the vendor is charging to much.. by £10,000, time to take ten steps back unless the vendor accepts.
if this falls to shit were renting, will update

I’ve had this - bit of a shit one. If you can provide evidence to the lender of similar properties at the price you have agreed that would probably change the decision, as a lot of the time they don’t seem to base it on anything other than a drive by and an average value that might be a bit out of date/skewed.

Just looked at the Hello Dave again, comedy head angle is comedy!

I know right! I figure my lack of any kind of mtb riding might help this not be as weird, but if I hate it its potentially pretty cheap to get something a little more normal!

So that's a roundabout way of saying that my top snacking tip is nuts and seeds, basically.

I'm cracking on through the christmas walnut whips and ferrero rocher if that counts ?

If work ever returns to a sensible amount I'll be better but Im currently on 25k steps a day 220 floors of stairs carrying 15kg bags.

I remember when Martyn turned vegan - he was disappointed at just how easy it was to do, but then he was really good about being able to control calories and protein etc in his 'normal' diet to keep him in pretty mega shape. I would probably be vegan if there were better options at restaurants, it wouldn't affect my diet that significantly, but the menu if we ever go out for dinner just looks terrible in most places.

  6. Think he shouldn’t be allowed to play unless he fits in with the rules of the country he wants to play in. If it turns out he doesn’t qualify for the exemption then - Byeeeeeeee.

Separate discussion as to whether those rules are the right rules.

  7. Is life insurance required by lenders now? I assumed it was just an add on that brokers tried to sell you?

I didn’t take out any when I bought our house but since we got G, we did get some.  Did the moneysavingexpert thing and it was good ish value.

    What you got ordered?

I went rogue and got a hello Dave. I figure it’s been over 10 years since I rode a mountain bike and if I buy a small light one I’ll just try and ride it like a trials bike.

    Also it was cheap.

  9. The commercial ramones 14 that griff had is about the lowest standover/seat height i could find. He was a shortarse but got on and could ride at 3 at around 92-94cm tall (can't quite remember but know it was less than recommended).

If he wasn't still so short it would be for sale but he still needs the seat on his new bike.

  10. That is odd about the 70-80s. Maybe there are still lots of unhealthy 70s who haven’t died yet but are about to, and above 80 you’re looking at only relatively healthy people surviving? They would mostly be above average age at that point?

  11. Rhetorical (mostly) questions.

in the uk without a prescription, where are you getting ivermectin? There are people starting up buyers clubs etc to make it available - pretty open to abuse.

what dose are you going to take? Large doses are dangerous, as far as I can tell, more dangerous than a large dose of paracetamol.

The main reason I keep banging on about it is that taking unprescribed drugs against medical advice can be pretty dangerous and I don’t like it being endorsed on the forum as if it’s totally safe, or even ‘Ok if you do it right’. In the uk you need a prescription to take it. (I’m providing balance to the force here )

It’s a completely separate thing that it probably doesn’t do much, has just as many side effects as the vaccine and might have actually been taken less times than the ‘unproven’ or ‘experimental vaccines 8.5billion doses.

If I google ivermectin I get some pretty dubious results from buyers clubs to animal versions to fda warnings about it. My guess would be, statistically, taking it without being part of a trial or a prescription (if that ever happens for covid treatment) is going to make you worse off not better.

    I know this isn’t scientific but…

Absolutely…  I know I keep banging on about this, but taking ivermectin without a prescription, and against all medical advice is not really a good idea - it can do you more harm than good for all sorts of reasons. However if people are interested in it as an alternative treatment they should sign up for a study and make it ‘scientific’ safely and under controlled medical conditions.

    Principle trial.

  13. It absolutely is not an experimental vaccine. I don’t think it’s helpful to describe it as such. At a push “new vaccine” but even that is implying something that it isn’t.

  14. If all concerned were sensible, Mercedes’ would have said - we are right - all we want is lewis is world champion. That is correct. The rules have been broken by the fia and it’s pretty clear cut. Redbull says max is also world champion - he did it fair and square on track and the fia’s decision has robbed max a chance of doing it in the rules. If it had been red flagged it was a straight shoot out for 4/5 laps whatever. If they had kept the cars in between them there is a decent chance they all get out of the way at the first corner and max has a good chance of getting a chance at a pass - he is like 4 seconds a lap faster. fia apologises says they made a mistake, award lewis the race but award no points and they are joint world champs.

as it stands it’s going to court and the whole sport is irreparably damaged. Which is pretty crap. Either way Massi is done.
