  1. get a iolo frame, £250, steel, if it cracks you can re weld it with no weakness problems etc etc one day you'll all learn that steel is the way forward...
  2. the collection of riding kit will have to be collected from llandudno btw (partz forgot to mention that ) but if anyone can make good use of it theres alot of quality riding kit there... we also still have about 10 club T's, they are 100% organic cotton howies T's printed on the back with the club name and sponsors. anyone interested in them please PM me an offer, they were £17.50 each and cost us about £13 each so drop us an offer if your ineterested in one
  3. get it welded by someone who knows what they're doing and be gentle with it. i'm riding a cracked monty atm, its got two fat cracks in it but i'm still riding it because the cracks aren't getting any bigger so why not! ride it and see if the crack gets bigger, if it does weld it, if it doesn't just be nice to her and she should stand up to a bit of riding...
  4. i've kept this to myself for a number of weeks now but feel this is the right time and place to discuss it, appologies to barbara, fred and the rest of biketrialuk aswell as all the freeridetrials club riders for you reading this here first but: i've decided to quit competition trials and the organisation of trials competitions - the reason - lack of respect from the riders and too much bitching. i worked my ass into the ground to organise the 3 indoor events last year, one was a success, one had barely anyone turn up to and third had one entry. i'm not here to whinge but when people start complaining that there aren't enough trials events in north wales or the northwest in general you dont need to ask why, your answer is right here. there are no events in the area any more because i'm not prepared to put the work in and just get crap back. thats my bit from an organisers point of view. from a competitors point of view - i've quit comps because they cost too much, yes £20 is a fair entry fee but when i add on the bits i usually replace pre comp, the food, drink, fuel money/train fare, memberships and entry i usually spend £100 per comp, thats way too much. if there were comps closer to home i'd ride them but then i've tried that and no one else was interested. i'm also bored of comps because theres so much falseness between riders, i'm sure there are alot of riders out there who dont like me, i'm one of those kind of guys you'll either like or hate, what f**ks me off is that everyones too false to be honest, if you dont like me tell me on here right now 'tom i think your a willy' and i'll remember not to watse my time with you in the future. i think the thing the thing that tipped me over the edge and really spoiled my last comp was when a rider who is pretty well known (no names here) totally blanked me as if i was some shitty little kid trying to get hgis autograph even though he and i had spent a night out on the piss together last year and got on really well, i'm not here to bum top riders but when there are attitudes like that around it does make a difference, you dont know who's being nice to your face and being a twat behind your back etc etc. the riders need to pull together as one, theres a big rift between the two sides of trials in the uk and its f**king stupid. maybe no one else on here wants to say it out loud but you know what i dont give a shit anymore, would the butler camp and the other camp (cant reallt put a name to it - sorry) stop being f**king kids, grow up and unite trials as one sport in the uk, stop driving a divide in the sport and stop making us all look like amatures my 5p *bring on the onslaught*
  5. sort your diet out sharpish wayne, no matter how well your eating you can always eat better and the key to keeping you body working well (or repairing it so it works well) is eating well. get into your local health food store and talk to them about glucosamine sulphate, MSM, devils claw and anything else they can suggest for repairing damaged tissue. also fresh oranges have something in them (mum told me once and i cant remember now) that helps the healing process. if you want to talk to someone who REALLY knows what they're talking about my mum owns a health food store and keeps my broken body working for me so i can give you her number if you want. call me - 07737648463 good luck mate tom

  8. in the car park for the camping at addingham last year vince hooked to back wheel a box that was 6ft excactly, i stood next to it and was no where close to being able to see over it. i'm 6ft 1" and was only just bigger than it! looking forward to the koxxdays videos and pics

  18. check out the new iolobikes website, nice and simple and easy to use. try and keep comments on the possitive side because criticism is only helpful when its constructive http://www.iolobikes.com
  19. just noticed iolo's news thread about his new trials company has been closed by onzaboymark - how come the 'onza prototype' thread was allowed to stay open and iolobikes one isn't? its a load of shit closing that topic, one of us riders is trying to do something good and set up a new british bike business and it get shut, i know the advertising rules and all that bollocks but if onza can display their prototypes why can't iolo display his new frame? or is it because he did it and not a random TF user?
  20. shove any prospective dates on here and if i can make some i will
  21. i and the other north wales lads set up, built and organised the indoor events there. fred savage has an invaluable wealth of knowledge but then i would think most people who spend alot of time on the comp scene would, especially those who do uci world events (andrei burton, ben slinger, ben savage, danny butler, rob poyser etc etc etc) if you want a vid of an indoor event speak to the leedstrials boys (mike, kev etc) they have a great vid of the second n.wales indoor event. mat tongue organised the redbull bikebattle and he gave me some usedful tips when i was building. all of the people i ahev mentioned in here are VERY BUSY PEOPLE so dont get annoyed or upset if they dont have the time to help. any questions you have or if you want any hints and tips give me a shout and i'll tell you all i know, as for all the others send them an email and if they reply they have time, if they don't, don't hold it against them, they're probably working or riding...
  22. manufacturing costs may be low but transportation and retail costs are not. at i guess they probably cost the importer half the retail cost so about £40 but this may be as high as £55 depending on the agreement, you then have tax to pay (twice, once when bought and once when sold). the retail tax is on the full rrp so even if the retailer sells them for £50 the taxman still wants 17.5% of the £78. you then have website costs, storage costs, advertising, money tied up in stock etc etc etc yeah they're ugly shoe's, yeah they're expensive but we've all seen when you try and do it on the cheap (yik), they were £65 and didn't last too well, when phil started chuckin them out at £35 they were worth buying but at that price he made no profit at all and when you work out the storage and advertising costs they probably ended up costing him money to get rid of! be happy your not a retailer, everyones against you
