  1. I think they work on the basis that somewhere along the line you're going to forget to send them the bill and then they can screw you for the cashback? That seems to be the reasoning behind hassling you so much to get the money back. But surely if you're careful with when you send stuff etc its essentially a free phone?! I'm tempted
  2. I've been looking around for a new phone for a while now and i've stumbled across this: Click Here It seems a little bit too good to be true, i was wondering if anyone has done anything similar succesfully? Cheers for any thoughts... Chris
  3. I was in Halls on Jubilee Campus (off triumph road) last year. Yeah, i'm pretty sure that Radford's no where near as bad as people say, especially our bit seeing as its just an extension of lenton boulevard... Also, Aldi rocks Back to the topic... I'm still pretty swung towards NTL seeing as we already have their cable tv boxes in three rooms so we can have a wireless router on the first floor and it means we won't have to pay £11 a month or whatever to BT for line rental...
  4. Sounds cool but the problem is that i could use that allowance in a day, let alone between the five of us! So thats why i need something without a cap
  5. Our house is in Radford, just down from some Trent accomodation... Just spent £240 on office chairs, this is an expensive business! I'm pretty tempted to spend the bit extra and get NTL just cos i've got the 2mb line at home and it's been pretty good this year...?
  6. Yeah, i'm keen to encourage Skype, it makes sense all round... The tiscali does sound good but i've read some pretty horrific stuff about their service... (See Here) The tiscali free calls are anytime to any number beginning with 01 or 02 so thats all good.
  7. Right, me and four mates are moving into a house in Nottingham in October for our second year of uni and i'm currently looking for broadband for it. I'm quite a heavy Bittorrent user and one of my friends is into his online gaming so we'll be looking for a line that's as fast as possible with no download cap if possible. Free or cheap calls would also be good seeing as two of my housemates have girlfriends at home who they regularly call... So far i've found: Tiscali 8mb - No cap, free UK calls: £22 p/m NTL 10mb - No cap : £35 p/m (effectively) Bulldog 16mb - No cap : £24.50 p/m Out of these Bulldog seems the most tempting, although the free calls with Tiscali would be a bonus. Anyone got any thoughts or suggestions on the matter. Cheers.
  8. 02 Online 100 gives you 500 free texts and 100 anytime, any network minutes for £25 pm. Not bad i reckon... Vodafone do a deal that gives you unlimited texts for around £35 pm...
  9. I'm also considering getting me a contract, just so i can get an LG Chocolate... Anyone else got experience with the O2 Online tariffs? I'm considering the Online 50 or the Online 100 tariffs but i'm not sure whether i can justify the extra £6 for the 100... Does anyone know whether it would be possible to change from the Online 50 to the Online 100 midway through my contract if i find i need more texts or minutes? Cheers
  10. The greeks usually drink it with water, a bit like the French drink "Pastis" Its pretty cool with water, makes it go cloudy...
  11. I've just bought a 200gb Seagate Barracuda and i'm trying to install it into my current system. The problem is that when ever i connect the power connector and IDE cable then press the power button i get a tiny bit of fan movement and then nothing. If i unplug the power connector to the drive everything boots and runs as normal. The same happens with a different power supply (also 300w generic), and if i try without the DVD drive and fans plugged in. The machine is an XP2800+ with 512mb of crucial ram, a 80gb Seagate Barracuda, two 120mm fans at 5v, one 80mm fan at 5v and a DVD R/W drive running off a generic 300w PSU. I've got my doubts about the psu, but i don't want to buy a new one if i dont need it! Is this a dead-on-arrival drive or am i overlooking something obvious.

    Alloy Wheels

Yeah, you should definately tell them otherwise your policy will be invalid... It added £20 to my insurance (took it up to £660 for 10 months) Hope that helps.
  13. I'm running Hoffman Jumping bars and they're pretty damn nice, had them on my old bike as well. As for the rear wheel i'd go for 48 spoke unless you're really very smooth. (Y)
  14. Just finished watching it, definately reccomend it to anyone. Made me cry :">
  15. Just watched 40 Year-Old Virgin: Not impressed to be honest, sure it has its moments but its a bit crap to be honest, can't quite put my finger on why. Anchorman fans will be pleased with Champ's cameo though (Y)"
  16. I'm keeping the mini " My parents refuse to let me drive 8hrs+ at least two weekends a month in my car. :P I've just been to look at a few cars and the ones that jumped out at me are the Seat Ibiza and the Ford KA, any experiences of these two?
  17. I'm off to uni in September and i'll be taking a car with me. Question is; What Car? :) Its going to be used for motorway driving every weekend so it'll have to be able to maintain an easy 70mph without drinking too much petrol. It also needs to be cheap to insure (comparable to my 998 mini would be nice) and reliable. Any ideas? Chris
  18. I managed to bend a set of 03 Boxxer World Cup forks in a crash recently and i was wondering if it will be possible to straighten them? The stanchions seem to be fine, as do the internals but the lowers are twisted. One side of the axle is about 10-15mm further forward than the other. Unfortuantely the Boxxers have a one-piece lower casting, so its not just a case of replacing the brace between the legs. I was thinking of possibly clamping one leg in a vice and then applying gentle pressure to the other leg in an attempt to straighten them? I've been quoted ~£400 for repair on these babies, so if i can make them ride-able again without paying that then i'd be very happy! Any thoughts appreciated, i'm aware that bending them back will result in metal fatigue in the alloy, but i'd be willing to risk riding them as long as the brace doesnt snap while trying to straighten it!
  19. Just watched this film and I have to say that it blew me away. It strikes true on so many levels. I think I might have to watch it again tomorrow once i've had time to think about it. Everyone should see this, it's not what i would consider my normal type of film, but it's brilliant.
  20. Reyland Escort: Top speed 194.7mph, 0-60mph: 2.89s :turned: Shame that its a late escort... only the mk1s and mk2s are worth a look i'm afraid.
  21. Balls, there I go trying to be too clever for my own good again... :(" Also, the new mini isn't built purly for the drive, its a farce... :(
