  1. Poor mikey was reluctant to send me his frame in fear of being bumped off I'm helping the kid out because I know Wat grief he has had I think he got bumped of from day one with this frame I'm gonna try my best to bring this back to life tomorrow .
  2. It's where the seat stay meets the top tube there's a plate welded/bodged to the top of the frame
  3. I wasn't gonna comment on the support I was waiting to see how long it would take for someone to spot it ! Didn't take long Looking at the frame closely reveals my original thinking about the welds was correct personally in my experience the weld are to cold thers a lot of (cold lap ) I'm looking forward to tarting this up tomorrow
  4. Received trials-mikeys frame for repair today Here's a pic before I rework all the welds I will put the reweld pictures up tomorrow If there's any more jafs that need repairing in the future feel free to contact me
  5. Cheers bud il hit u up when the times right mate.
  6. From day one I have always said jafs frames looked nice but the welding was very amateur witch was a big shame but personally I couldn't bring my self to sell something with welding like that I am making two jigs and also I have a good friend and colleuge who is gonna help me out if things get too busy (if) .
  7. No worries George it's fine pal. And thanks for all the great comments about my welding its nice too hear but I have to weld like this in my job if I didn't I wouldn't have a job everything has to be high grade class 1 welding or your out the door. I don't see my self as a welding god just qualified enough to keep my job and feed my family that's all I care about lol I'm goin to also get some videos of welding tube over this coming week I.e different mocked up tube joints that u would find on a frame because I also think a lot of peaple on here are under a false impression of how long welding takes .
  8. I wasn't going to say anything on though topic but seen as George asked who I was I thought I'd comment. I won't be selling any frames until the have had a true battering so I can iron out any bad areas if I'm going to to this I'm going to do it properly and I will certainly not be taking any money of peaple until my frames are refined enough to sell. And regards to frame fabrication my job as a pipe fitter/ welder/ fabricator to major food companies and water companies and pharmaceutical companies I wouldn't of thought a frame would be an issue for me .
  9. Cheers for the support guys and il keep u in mind for the future bing !
  10. I haven't had chance to round up material costs yet etc But I want to be high quality with a reasonable price tag too I think for basic frame designs etc I estimate I'm going in at about 250 to 350 material depending and also frame design depending to but as I said before nothing will be produced till a proto has been extremely tested if I'm going to do it will be done right I will also be offering lifetime warranty for weld repairs etc if the unfortunate eventuality of a crack appears. Also weld repairs on other frames fire my way too peaple.
  11. Started fabbing the jig today I had a little spare time before work so I made a start. I'm actually excited about this venture
  12. Cheers mate here's a background for my website that will be being made shortly a previous weld repair at radical bikes I think it looks cool .
  13. Can't find any of the chassis my old man will have some here's a pic of his roll bar/ exhaust I have fabricated
  14. I can get some it was some time ago matey
  15. Good to hear matey and thanks from all the great feedback so far .
  16. I work in Northampton but I work all over the country
  17. Never had a weld break and my welds go through far more stress than a bike frame a built a chassis for my dads Westfield out of stainless steel four years ago and that's still going strong mate I'm just brainstorming at the min but as I said I won't be selling nothing until I know it's reliable
  18. Couldn't possibly say at the mo il be making them out of stainless steel as we all know its a little dearer but I'm not about to rip peaple off they will be priced to please any thing super extravagant will obviously be a little more .
  19. That looks awsome are the disk mounts stronger than the zoom ones as I know mr meek keeps killing his zoot ones ?
  20. Maybe so but I haven't seen any welding on any jaf frame that has been up to standard We're ever I have worked if someone did a weld test like that they wouldn't get the job . I'm training a 18 yr old apprentice at the mo he's 4 months in and can already weld to a higher standard than jaf !
  21. First frame will be a 24" for sam t but I won't be letting them go until they have had a true battering lol
  22. It doesn't take any longer to weld like this I'm fully coded matey u just have to know what Ur doin I have always said jaf frames looked okay but the welds wasn't up to scratch I have mentioned it on here before and I got ribbed . When jaf started making frames I offerd to help get his welding up to standard and he wasn't interested at all he just replied he don't need my help because he is also fully coded (witch I don't believe ) I would of been quite happy to help too but seeing as there might be a gap in the market for me I might jump in pal
