  1. Im no expert, but ill still assist. I just use the cheaper tubes regardless. I get pinch flats all the time, so its better to have lots of cheap replacements, than having a not-so-cheap one with 10 or so repairs on it. but the thinner it is, the more it has to stretch/expand. and the more it has to expand, the thinner the rubber gets. simple logic really. just means itll be more prone to punctures.
  2. 35psi Is a little hard for me, I prefer to run a lower pressure. I find it easier to land and grip on a lower pressure, when its high I'm getting bounced off things all the time. I think the talcum powder method may work though. I forgot to check my pressures and I was running aroung 16-17psi and landed heavy gapping, I felt it pinch, but no puncture! I think.. I could be a slow one. ive got a higher pressure now, and hopefully in the morning itll still be inflated.
  3. Oh yeah it kinda makes sense. Like instead of gripping and pinching, It'll slip and just hit the tire wall instead.
  4. Ive got a maxxis "high roller" on now but it seems fairly ridgid. Cant afford a new tire at the moment so ill try some of the other combos before I pay for a new tire. yeah dan if you can that would be great, you can have some money for them if you want? (Yeah I saw the resemblance in your profile picture) Thanks for the help people also what would talcum powder actually do?
  5. ill try out a higher pressure to begin with, but the last time I tried that I bounced off things quite a lot instead of gripping it. But that might have been because I was so great then. But if I dont like that ill look towards getting thicker tire, I could do with replacing it anyway. Thanks for the help.
  6. Hi so I keep popping my tube by landing a little heavy on the edges of things, like walls, bars and benches. I was talking with someone and they recommended getting a tire with a harder sidewall but I cant really find any. I run a around 20-24psi on 26" wheels, but im pretty light so its not just that. so i was wondering if there is anything I can get like anti-pinch innertubes or something to put in my tire to prevent rim-biting?
  7. Yeah zoots are really good... at first... then you start to hate it. I got rid of mine before I destroyed it and couldnt sell it on. I got around £170 for it but it was pretty beat up. If i took care of it i could have got like £200-220. I got told it needs new forks and bars to lighten the front, they would have helped a lot. So you should look to getting some, before you get used to the heavy front. Someone recommended "Echo Urban 24" forks" they seemed to know what they were talking about. Its good for a first bike though.
  8. I think I know what ive done wrong. the screw plug on the lever where the tube is connected, was screwed in when I did the bleed instead of being out to allow more fluid the get into the tubes. ill try again tomorrow but id still like some help incase I am wrong, or it doesnt work.
  9. Ive done the water bleed on hs33, and theres no air in the tubes but the brake is weak. it doesnt have any stopping power, the pads move fine and ive tried adjusting the dial on the lever but it still doesnt work as it should. The shorter tube that goes to the caliper things is pretty long, I had to replace it because I snapped my old one. Aside from that I dont see why its not working. anyone know why?
  10. Ah i feel a little stupid now, where else would the buying and selling be happening, Right? thanks though ill start looking for some now.
  11. I didnt know they sold parts on here, do I just search through forums of do I need to start a new one? its just im not really sure how to navigate this site efficiently if I need to search for them, but ill give it a try. Oh if while your browsing you happen to come accross some 24" forks or some bars, let me know if you can, thanks.
  12. Great thanks, ill try get some money together and lighten the front ill switch the bars out too, I just dont want to go over £250 making the bike better as I got the bike for less than that. ive had a look on tarty-bikes and for some Echo urban forks im looking about £80-£90 +p&p which isnt so bad, but im gonna try find some second hand forks before I go buying any. if you know any better places for parts, or know anyone selling some please let me know appreciate it. thanks for the help.
  13. Yeah sure, I got your request on facebook so ill drop you a message sometime. Ill speak to dan an oliver battye an see if they want to get a ride going. I think theyll both be more on your level, im still amateur. They ride 26" too so you'll have the same ride style.
  14. So im having a lot trouble shifting the zoot about im pretty strong so thats not the issue, I was just wondering whether it was the bike and other people are having the same problem, or its just me and im doing it wrong. I cant manual consistently well on it, but when I get the front up without flipping the bike is fairly easy to maintain. The front is really hard to lift so it messes with your center of balance. Also rotations like 180's and nose 360's are very hard to do, the bike just doesnt want to turn, its like everything about it just wants you to go in a straight line on two wheels. Any help? Someone told me something about dropping your shoulder for rotations, but that made no sense to me, hey didnt explain what "dropping your shoulder" is. would a longer or shorter stem help at all, for anything?
  15. I have no idea how to navigate this site -.- pretty sure this is the dan ive been riding with, but cant really tell you look a lot different in the picture... anyways let me know next time your organising a huddersfield ride.
