The ex and I decided to part ways. We broke up 4 months ago but decided to give it another shot. We both found our new relationship lacking in emotion. We spent the last few hours together thanking for what we had and remembering the good times.

I picked up an inspire hex 2012 with a hope trial tech front brake and a hs33 rear just wondering where I should start with tricks and weather or not I should ditch the 8speed setup that is on there now and go to single speed the bike came with a proper Crankset and single speed kit just needs a chain tensioner running a 22 up front on saint cranks with a 28 to 11 cassette the rim is brand new on the back I sanded it down but I'm guessing a grind is the way to go?
Having lots of fun with back wheel hops but I am having a hard time with pedal kicks I can only move about 1 foot at a time if I'm lucky. Just wanted to say hi and see if anyone else has any good beginner advice
I'd convert it back to a single speed, with the correct 26 ratio (which is usually 18:15, with a 22t sprocket I think it's 18t on the back? Someone correct me) grind works better in all conditions, if it's dry you could get some tar on there. Check the pads, they might be super dirty.
I'd start with the basics for trials. I'd say focus on getting up small objects- rolling first, then static, using different techniques. Trashzen.com will teach you everything! I started with just back hops and pedal kicks and realised I couldn't get up anything, haha. If you keep at it it'll all come and you'll get really good.

Is that the Thumper? Isn't it the one with the dinner plate disc on the back.

been lost in a stream of old videos, and i keep seeing bikes which look full of character (leeson pogo stick stock with what looks like scaffolding between the tubes, for example) want to hear about ye olde bi-cycles!

That is the other hub that Alex machined like mine. It's a proper job.

Thanks for the info... Was that an expensive process? The reason I'm asking is I'm toying with the idea of getting one of these frames at some point and a hope hub would be awesome...
it was reasonable. especially for the amount of work done. there were a few niggles i had to fix, but they were very very minor and it was alex's first time doing the 80ep hub. as far as im aware, josh leech did flipps rear pro4 in his.

Very cool indeed, is the rear hub spacing 135mm or 116mm?
If 116 then how did you get the hope hub in there? If you've done some sort of hub modification, please tell!
its a 116mm spaced frame, with a custom 110mm pro2 evo ss! (plus cams/ disc spacing) machined axle, bearings relocated, freehub machined down and threaded for an external lockring, disc tabs and end caps appropriately modified/machined. which means theres absolutely zero dish all done by alex.

I still think they deserve a saddle...
it would have to have a drastic redesign or a foot long seatpost the picture may be deceiving, but where the seattube is in comparison to the tyre is literally nothing. nowhere near enough space for a seat unless you had a stupid seatpost or the frame was deigned more bmx-y. which i guess is why the arcade exists

i like the build, looks clean. just my opinion of course, but i really don't like those frames. just one random curved toptube, if it was straight i reckon it would look beaut. im not a "if the tubes arent straight i hate it" guy, (seeing as ive had 5 limeys..) but the curve doesn't flow into anything.
sorry for the mini rant, always been on my mind
