I have done kneeboarding before, yeah I know its not the same but still great fun. Its fairly accessable, theres loads of places where u can do it! I went to a place in Nottingham, basically a swap sorta thing with a big cable system. lewis -
For those of you who may come across the same problem, I have finally removed the preload nut and Quick release end. However, it did take an angle grinder. Firstly I cut off the quick release end to leave the preload nut and a small bit of the quick release end. Then I used a screw-driver to lever the rest of the quick release end out. Then the preload nut was easy enough to screw out with my fingers while I had a pair of mole-grips holding the snapped end. Then the old axle was removed. Job done, cheers for the help anyway. Lewis
-
Yeah thanks, I will do that. But while im waiting for a reply, are there any other suggestions for removing this axle without too much damage? Lewis
-
Pictures of the axle. As you can see the axle has snapped so it cannot be removed with two allen keys. Lewis EDIT: The axle has only snapped on the end, not on the actual axle inside the hub.
-
The actual axle of the hub itself has snapped. I shall take some pictures today so people can see what i mean. Lewis

Hey, The other day while riding I noticed that my wheel was moving around a lot, upon inspection I realised that my Chris King axle has snapped The axle has snapped on the side where it is solid ( not the un-screwing end ) which leaves me with nothing to hold the axle still with, i.e. nothing to turn the insert against. My dileama is that I can't remove the broken axle to replace it with a new one. Any ideas, known ways of removing or help greatly appreciated. Lewis.

Hey, you couldn't possibly do them in white could you ? Instead of blue ? msn; lewistoprider@hotmail.com cheers lewis
-
Exactly why they look like that though, they're designed for trials, Although I agree with what you're saying but people don't wear them when not riding do they? lewis
-
Quiet, helps me concentrate on a move thats bigger, but music for messing around on smaller things. lewis
-
I agree with everyone else, great riding and for half a year ?!?! Well done, looking forward to big things in the future, keep it up. lewis

Boiling hot soapy water for the disc, soak for around 15 mins, then put in the oven for about the same time. Simply cook the pads as said above, but don't over cook them lol. For better braking performance, assemble together, try hot water on the disc and ride around or down a big hill with the brake on . lewis

For those of you haven't noticed, there is a new edition of the Ribo trials shoes. Personally, I think that they looks the dogs and will be investing in a pair when the bank balance allows. Ribo AS-1 However, I must say that they look a lot like the old style "pixie boots" Monty trials shoes. Regardless they do look great and will, no doubt, be a lot better than the Monty shoes for the simple fact that they are made by Ribo who are renouned for their craftsmanship. Plus they aren't as expensive as previous models!! lewis

Yeah, I wasn't saying that it was pointless because of this because I think it's a great idea to raise awareness. With some kind of media coverage the 'scheme' could kick off some sort of following by the Government, then maybe more respect ? lewis

I don't mean to sound harsh and critical, but for most of the riders that would attend the big ride, they would have to travel to London via some sort of CO2 emitting vehicle i.e. train, car etc.... so the ride is sort of hypocritical. However, The ride and idea sounds really good and would be a really good ride trying to get the point across by uniting all types of riders, as well as being really fun meeting new people and riding new places (well for most of us!!) [just my view and I'm not trying to convince anyone out of it] lewis
-
Yeah!! Share the modification and a step-by-step guide to creating a 108 engagement Eno or are you goin to start a new company manufaturing these freewheels ?!?! lewis
-
Theres not much point going to newquay to get watched, it is as easy to get attention back home in sunny Costa Del Mansfield. Athough theres a difference in the types of attention!!. Sounds a good day out though, i'll bet that it took Jon a fair while to drive down there! lewis
