Too be honest, you've pretty much got it sussed. It took me ages to get it. I used to do the 180 pviot then use me foot on the front wheel to get the motion backwards going. I can now g-turn, but i found to do it you have to be more verticle than you think so you can get the backwards motion. That's the only pointer I can really give as you already know the rest.

Dave I've just looked for train times, and its not showing any engineering works. 1 change at Southampton Central 1:09 journey time. I'm going in with Rob from Eastleighm again shows no engineering works anywhere. So stop with the excuses and come on out

I second that. Danny may be an amazing rider, but there is no way he could have pulled all that on his first time. I know in the vid you see clips of him bailing on the fence ride, but that can't be the only bails he made.

Chris your best bet will be the cinema car park. Il find an address for you. Leisure world West quay road Southampton So15 1re You may have to pay, but it's a small fee for parking all day, like £3/£4.

I just saw the guy on the unicycle on the reapeat. He was shocking. Fair play to him giving it a go though. He wasn't the only act in glasgow that couldn't do what they had claimed they could.

I've never had problems with the magura plastic hosing. I've found it to be very strong. The only issue's I've seen with hoses breaking is when someone has fallen off their bike, and the bars have spun round once or twice, then when the rider has picked the bike up they have turned the bars the wrong way round, and because of the force have pulled the hose out of the lever.

If you want to try a hook on a wall, much like you see many other rider's doing. Then it shouldn't matter what your geo is, as only your tyres touch the object your hooking.

Well took Sian to London for her 21st last weekend, couldn't be assed with the last hampshire, due to my bike playing up and the weather showing it was gonna rain. I thought Halfords only sold tap & die sets, not heli coil kits.

i'm up for this, but does anyone have a helicoil kit? My brake mount thread stripped last night so need to sort it before i can ride. Anyone able to help?

I may be wrong, but the black substance sounds like it could just be brake dust. If you have a mtb with v-brakes the brake dust stays around the brake pads and rims, not normally noticeable though untill the rim and pads get wet. The brake dust does effect brake performance quite alot when wet. On a grind you will get brake dust, but the amount depends on how soft or hard the pad compund is, but generally I've only ever seen a dirty rim with a grind when wet, when it's been ridden through bog style mud. Riding in lots of wet mud is the only downfall to having a grind as the mud gets compressed into the gaps of the rim that the grinding disc has made. This results in your rim pretty much becoming smooth and your brake being less effective. In this case a disc is much better as it's designed to work better in these conditions. If you want a reliable brake, you've gotta consider what conditions your riding in most. If it's dry conditions with the exception of rain, then a grind with which ever type of pad works for you. if it's muddy conditions, more to the point wet mud - boggy conditions then a disc is your best bet. Everyone has different preferences. But by the point your trying to make surely, you should stop using that small amount of tar. I use a grind with phat pads and CNC backings, I use this set up because I know whatever the weather I can be sure my brake is going to hold. With a smooth rim there is no gurantee, and with tar, personally your risking your personal safety. The slightest bit of moisture on a smooth rim, with or without tar and your brake slips. As for not relying on the brake to become a better rider, there are other ways of doing that. Eg: if gapping, then aiming to land more on top with a lower front wheel to use less brake but increase tyre grip. If sidehopping, landing two wheels on top using no brakes or minimal brakes. If you've noticed, there is a pattern emerging. To do what you've suggested would risk ourselves so much more than we already do when riding, no matter if it's a comp or just street riding. All riders like to know that they can rely on there bike to hold up during a move/section, many parts of the bike are vital to prevent injury, but the one that only you as a rider can improve is how reliable your brake is. I feel 100% happy that I'm not risking my personal safety with my brake set-up when riding. Can you the same about yours?

This is slightly off topic but, about 3 years ago, I ordered a rear wheel from Dave Hinde. I chose them as they were cheaper than everyone else, including chain reaction. I ordered a Mavic D521 silver 36h on a Shimano Saint rear hub with DT Swiss spokes. I did have a problem with the order, they contacted me when they were going to build the wheel because they didn't have the silver rim in a 36h, only a 32h. They said I could either wait for a silver one to come in, or at no extra cost to myself, they would build the hub onto a Mavic D521 CD rim in 36h. Obviously I opted for the better rim. From the order process to to the wheel being delivered it took no more than a week. That to me was great customer service.
