  1. Loving the pics Pat, looks like you had a great time. Those sections looked interesting. How come your riding the coust again? I thought you were riding a Magellan? See you soon
  2. I've only just found out about this. I can't believe it. I've not seen him for a quite a while, but whenever we spoke or met up we'd always have a laugh. He was the life and soul of any ride!! My thoughts and condolences go out to his family and all that were close to him. Such a great loss. Hobbsie you will be greatly missed Rest In Peace my friend xx
  3. Given it was your first bike trial i thought it went well. It was probably a good thing that there wasn't a lot of people given the alterations that were made. But i did enjoy myself, and do look forward to any future trials organised by yourself and the rest of torridge and district mcc.
  4. Why Verwood, why not Poole? Verwood in my opinion is limited, whereas I think you would find Poole much more enjoyable.
  5. Have you ever heard of the North/Midland/South divide ????????
  6. Dan is really busy all the time. On the rare occasion I catch Dan, he is rushing about with deliveries and customer orders. If he has been ill, thats gonna sting him hugely and will effect his business on a whole. It is unfortunate Grant, that you didn't get your pads, but maybe you should have given more time before you went away. I've made the same mistake with orders for parts before from various companies. I've left it late and a couple of days before needing something for a demo/comp, I make an order with which ever company has what I want in stock and order it, in hope that I'l get it in time. Dan is under alot of pressure at the moment, particularly with his new warehouse and trying to get a shop up and running. I've not seen him online at all this week, so I imagine he's probably been in bed all week away from communication and resting. As for it coming across like trials-uk is useless, well thats only going on whats been said on the forum and from word of mouth, which will all be bad experience's. I bet none of you ever mention to a friend what good service you recieved from anywhere, when you have bought products. People are always quick to spread bad news, but good news is hard to come by. Way of the world!!!!!
  7. Nice pics, looks like you've got alot of power going on.
  8. OK, so we can both list names. still doesn't prove anything. Lets make this happen then. 1 comp a month, April - September Who's game?
  9. Bristol, Plymouth and Portsmouth are Southern know matter how much you try and make it northern. I think we should actually have a North vs South comp series. comprised of x amount of rounds with all rounds being either street or natural ( natural can be split to woodland and rocks) Essentially, you could have 6 rounds - 2 Street, 2 Natural woodland and 2 Natural Rock. 1 of each in the south and 1 of each in the North. Possible southern venues: Street - Bristol or Portsmouth Woodland - Hook Woods Rocks - Portland Bill / Porthcawl.
  10. If your below the line the your southern, simple as. Doesn't matter if your at uni down here, if your currently spending the majority of the year below that line then your southern. So we get the likes off: Andrei Burton Rowan Johns Rich Pearson Ben Rowlands James Porter Nick Goddard Dan Jones Martyn Ashton Andrew Pooley Joe Seddon Matt Staples Andrew Chai Sam Wheeler Pat Donovan Myself Matt Burrows Mike Singleton and many more..........
  11. I'l be there. Rich, I could ask Sian's parents if you could crash here.
  12. Why has it got to be a he? It could be a female with a lot of knowledge about the sport.
  13. Your paying to have the brand name Onza on your rim and for it to have spent 20 minutes on a £500,000 machine. I think thats value for money
  14. I think it's a basic cable disc, I've not ridden the bike with that disc, so I'm not usre what its like. for the price is great, you may want to change a few things if you prefer things like a magura instead of a v-brake, but its compatable, so not a problem. Brett Penfold is riding the 1.3 with rear v-brake. The thing I found with the PHASE bikes is that the frames are really light, so it doesn't really matter whats on the bike, even the geometry is slightly different to most frame, but I love it. I've done alot on my PHASE that I have struggled with on other frames. You might aswell pop down to Evans if you got one near, see if they have them in stock, so you can have a good look at them.
  15. I'm sorry but the majority of the rider's in my opinion are not amazing rider's. So they can do big gaps and sidehops, that makes them the best at that. There's so much more to trials that going big. I would say the follwing are worthy of best UK rider: Chris Akrigg Dan Jones Rowan Johns Wayne Mohamet Stan shaw and many more. My reasons for this selection are that they don't just go big, they go technical. They enjoy the sport of Bike trials as its ment to be with out getting crappy if they can't do a line or move. They have the ability to ride big and technical as if it was all the same. The average ability of a uk rider is quite high now, mainly in street riding and going big, but being able to find lines and find technical lines are up there with going big, so being able to do the lot is what makes a great rider.
  16. Hey buddy, my mate works for Raleigh and he told me that those frames have problems with their chainstays, I think they made them too thin and the yoke gap is too big and so, makes it weak. They do look nice though. The onza looks good for a beginner, though the frame isn't really updated geometry. Have you had a look at the PHASE 1.3 and 1.2 1.3 retails at £299 and the 1.2 £499 but the links are for Evans cycles which have them both on sale, 1.3 £199 and 1.2 for £349. The main difference between the two is the 1.3 has v-brake mounts and the 1.2 has 4 bolt mounts. I ride a 1.2, I've changed some bits, but I'm still running the frame, forks, headset, bar, stem and bb. Here's a video and [email=http://www.trials-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=123762]pics of me, if your interested in seeing a PHASE in action
  17. They look nice.............. .........But I cant see those headtubes being very strong, with only the front, top and bottom of the headtube taking all the force from the front end.
  18. jesus, i never said she was a professional. I'm impressed with them whether others are or not.
  19. Yeah, either Bournemouth or Christchurch, both a good 10 mile+ from Moors Valley.
  20. It's a good laugh. Basically there's loads of wooden things for kids to climb on and play in. These are also really nice to ride on. I think you'd have a laugh Luke.
  21. Would love to come, but just got a new job and have to work thursday evening. sucks
  22. I've not been up since, I split up with Louise. Really need to come up again though, loved Glasgow. I think my favourite pic is the tap bail, lol.
