  1. I wouldn't bother in a tensioner. You're taking away the benefits of having horizontal dropouts with a built in tensioner. If your chain has a tight spot then get to the route of that problem and sort that out. Maybe you should try a different RH crank arm on to see if that solves the problem, maybe borrow someone else's while you see if that fixes it.

  2. I once found 2 cave spider spawners and a regular spider spawner very close to eachother and made myself an AFK string grinder from all 3 of them. Most difficult thing I'd ever done in minecraft.

    Worked though.

That'll come in handy when they implement ziplines.

  3. Well I managed to pirate it. Don't see how it'd be any more difficult than any other game to pirate. If anything it would be easier as Notch has said many times he doesn't mind people illegally downloading it so he's not exactly going to go out of his way to make it difficult.

I thought you could only play it online by going onto cracked servers where you get your own online ID for that server rather than using a paid account.

To even play the game offline you have to have bought an account, play it once online, then you can play it offline as much as you like, well that's what you're meant to do it. But as you say I'm sure it can't be hard for someone to hack it to play offline. But because you need an online account to play it online, for example to play on a private server for your home PC I'm not aware of any way of doing that unless you join a cracked server. But even if you do crack it I'm not sure how the updates work as they're pretty important to get every now and then. If you know a way though, let me know, Davetrials is after getting it.

  4. *pats on head*

    No.

I play on a private server that's ran by a friend of mine that I used to go to school with years ago. If anyone wants in on it and isn't going to go on and f**k shit up let me know.

Go on then, might join you on it.

  5. Apologies for bumping this :P

It's almost winter. Still 10* plus!

Feel like some FPS action. Sold all mine 'cept Reach. COD is easy fun, and i remember MW2 was fun despite issues which they developers seem to never remove from the game.

So ignoring these style of comments:

Is this as fun as MW2?

I've not played COD / xbox since the snow. MW2 was full of hacks/ mods when i left, and before MW3 goes the same, i gota get in there quick. Black Ops somehow did feel a step down for me in the way of weaponry. So can i expect to have as much fun and annoyances from MW3 as i did MW2, especially seeing as i've not touched it in a lonng time?

Black Ops plays slightly different, but in terms of how similar it is to MW2, it is pretty similar with how it plays. Ye they've changed things but you won't notice particularly much difference when you play. I also don't really get why people say things like "it's just the same as the last one", "nothing is different", "why waste money". One way to look at it is, when you buy say the 4/5 map packs that come out, it might cost around £40-£50 to get more maps. A new game is basically a big map pack. The game is Call of Duty, if they change the game too much it's just not going to be the same game. The campain is obviously totally different and different guns ,challanges, perks, killstreaks etc in mulitplayer always makes a nice change. You've also got different game modes like kill confirmed (which is basically all I play) which is brilliant and the new 2 player game mode (similar to zombies but without zombies, explaining it briefly).

In terms of mods and hacks, maybe security is tighter in this game for the future. Treyarch done an extremely good job stopping it and it was always their aim to stop it and they succeeded, so Activision might have taken a leaf out of their book.

But the difference between Treyarch games and Activision games is quite a lot but still keeping it close enough to be a COD game. So really there's 2 years between each type of game. I really think people who moan about COD in that type of way arn't really thinking about what they're saying, they literally can't change the game too much, and besides, if they did, I don't think it would be any better in terms of gameplay, movement and controlls. They're all on a massive bandwagon. Wish they'd just say they don't like the franchise instead of moaning about it and buying every one and saying the same thing every time, if they don't like it, fine, move on don't continue to buy and play it.

I get annoyed plenty of times, but I still love COD, and I haven't played another FPS game that rivals it in terms of enjoyment. And I suppose that's why it's the biggest game franchise going.

As you also said about "fun and annoyances" yes you will, you always will have both of them, but you'll still enjoy it like you did on MW2 and maybe more.

  6. You are one of them aren't you.... I can deal with them (drop shooters are easier to deal with though then a good quickscoper). I don't think it is a skill any more on this game. With the quickdraw perk and that other one that makes you move faster while scoping in, it has made quickscoping so easy. I tried it out for a few games, I never snipe and have never quickscoped before and I did about 30-18 K/D on my first try. I think they have made it too easy compared to previous COD were quickscoping was abit tricky to master.

I think both quickscoping and drop shooting are just cheap tricks for people who just want easy kills so they can get their killstreak rewards and a good K/D.

Just for you though I have some more moaning.

The type 95 and dual FMG9 (which everyone is using at the moment) is way overpowered. It's like play hardcore modes when you run into those. There are some other overpowered guns but they are the worst.

The spawn system seems to be really shite on it. I seem to get spawn killed all the time, even on game modes where their aren't fixed spawn sides. I had a slight problem with this on MW2 but MW3 is miles worse for this.

Stealth bomber shouldn't be in the support streaks. I have seen loads of people (including myself) whiping out the whole team with ease with them. I think there shouldn't be any killing rewards in the support streaks as it makes it too easy.

And on a personal note, this is the COD with the most amount of maps I hate.

I don't quickscope, I just don't ever use a sniper because I don't enjoy it. I do dropshot occasionally with an SMG when in close proximity. At the end of the day, if you get the kill because of it, then it's not a cheap trick, it's playing the game to it's advantages. It might be annoying for some people, but it just sounds like you want everything your own way to help you win instead of dealing with it. Basically just sounds like you're making excuses up, especially moaning about overpowered guns. Are you one of them that purposely uses a weaker gun to make yourself sound good. All the guns aren't going to have the same level of power, some people like a challenge. Some people want to do the challanges for each gun. Some people use the most powerful guns to their advantage, and some people just prefer other guns just like how I don't like using sniper rifles even though they're the most powerful guns in the game. There's nothing wrong with using a weaker gun, just don't moan about people using a more powerful gun when you get killed, it was your choice. Also, more people use assault rifles and SMGs than people use snipers, by quite a lot from what I've noticed. I did think a lot more people would be using sniper rifles but it doesn't seem that way.

In regards to the support streaks. I think they're great, it makes the game more enjoyable for people who aren't as good. People who can never really get high killstreaks. It can be pretty hard to get killstreams in a lot of the game modes. There will be plenty of players who've played previous cod games and probably hardly ever get killstreaks, only get maybe a 5 now and then. To open the game up more and make it a more even playing field is great. Again, try and deal with it. I don't often get killed by stealth bombers as I usually have enough time to run for cover when I hear or see where abouts they are on the map.

Spawn points are a bit crazy occasionaly but again not really been too upset about it, only now and then. But I suppose it reduces spawn trapping, which again people moan at so you can never have it everyones way.

I'm just not bothered in quick scoping, drop shots, spawing slightly near an opponent, killsteaks etc. The only gripe I have is lag. When you can't trust a game and feel it's hit and miss whether the game will play good or not and there's not much you can do about it is the main problem for me. I can easilly tell the difference when I'm not lagging as much as others, I'll say to myself on numerous times "bloody ell, how did I not die then" and vice versa "how on earth did they not die then". That's always been a problem for me with cod games. But hopefully these problems can get ironed out so it plays a bit better more consitantly.

  7. I've got the free taster box a fair few times and I really rate them. But it does come as a price, not really ideal for a student!

It's hardly just nuts and bird seed either. Dips, chinese crackers, little bits of bread with nice stuff all over them, flapjacks, cranberries mixed with chocolate buttons and fudge etc.

If you can afford to pay slightly over the odds for the convenience (not only of having it delivered, but also not having to buy all those things separately then put them together, and actually buy enough variety), I'd recommend it.

Ye, I certainly wouldn't be getting seeds and nuts. Some of the grub like the bread, crackers and flapjacks look decent. Think I'll be giving it a go.

  8. Basically, you order a box, they send you some random items on a specified day of the week. You can then rate certain foods/nibbles on the website to determine what you get sent next time.

Anyone tried it out? What are your thoughts?

I went to sign up but didn't put any card details in and the next day got an e-mail offering a free box for the first order and half price for the second, so might try one out.

    http://www.graze.com/

Some of the stuff does look pretty tasty. And I imagine it'd be pretty good to get something different to try out now and then.

  9. Had another blast just now and I had some thoughts. I really wish they would take out quick scoping, some people are just too good at it and make it so you can't shoot and lie down at the same time (drop shots they call them?). The people that "drop shot" are the most annoying. Even more annoying then people who camp or just use grenade launchers all the time. Does anyone agree?

Stop moaning about people quick scoping and drop shots. It's part of the game and part of the skill. It's annoying because you can't deal with it. Why don't you learn how to use them and add it to your game and learn how to combat it.

  10. It's more belly fat I want to lose rather than all over and thought it was quite an intensive workout that would do this quickly and I wouldn't be in the wet and cold..... This would mess my hair up

You can't just lose belly fat, no targeting. But if you want to lose weight then a spinning class will certainly burn off the calories, so go do it.

  11. Right i placed an order with select bikes for some 07 urbans on the 17th on june. They havent turned up, & the money has left my account. The order form on line just says "Processing" and whenever i ring them i get no answer :( Have they shut down for good? or are they just having problems at the moment.... cheers.

An e-mail was sent on 17th June regarding some Urban forks to a 'Snake-pit' e-mail address, which I presume is the correct order. Maybe check your junk e-mail if you haven't noticed it in your inbox, but I'll copy and paste the mail and PM it to you anyway. Sorry you couldn't get in touch by phone, we're open 10-6 and sometimes if a customer is being served in the shop the phone doesn't get answered, maybe that is what's happened as nearly all calls get answered in work hours. But I should have followed up contacting you again once I hadn't had a reply which I apologise about.

    Thanks.

    Phil.

  12. http://www.runnerswo...edules/107.html

Click on one of the links and it'll give you a training routine. So, beginner for you I assume.

I've ran a half marathon myself, not in a race, just thought I'd run as far as I could, once I'd done around 10 miles I thought I may as well do 13. That was with hardly any training, it was just a case of going steady, not too fast and keeping your breathing in time, you get into a rhythm and just carry on.

Edit: Just noticed above JD said pretty much the same thing about runnersworld.

Somebody liked that film? That's news to me. One of the worst films I've ever seen and one of the few I very nearly just walked out the cinema over.

  14. I told you its addictive.

Although floating things are cheating, then the exploding cabbages can't get you.

    Exploding cabbages? What are they?

The only exploding things I come across on Minecraft are massive green exploding penises.

I want to play minecraft! I don't want to pay.

What you currently pay for is the full version of the game when it's released. You're basically pre ordering the game. But you're getting the Beta version for free, you aren't paying for the Beta. So technically you can buy the game and you should be able to get a refund if you ask before the full release.

Don't hold me to this if you do it and it doesn't work.

  15. Ah, T-Cut. The polish of champions! Nice work Ads, will be interesting to see how long it lasts!! Were you not tempted to just buy some stock CF tubing and hone the ID?

Doubt he has a honing machine knocking around. :giggle:

Looks good though Ads, nice one.

  16. Use a bike box. More protection in a box rather than a bag, so should prevent any bending too.

I've got a bike bag, never had a problem with it but it's not uncommon for people to find their bikes bent after being in a plane. Make sure you use some frame/fork dropout packing to prevent it bending.

  17. Yeah im not too worried if it should collapse as hopefully it shouldnt as i wont be running a rim brake on it. & regarding the file business, do you reckon i could a jigsaw to just cut out the holes?

Depends how well you can clamp the rim. There would have to be zero flex/wobble in the rim to put a jigsaw on it. I think it'll be more hassle than it's worth, especially when you get to the 90 degree part.
