  2. For future reference, there's no sus forks (there may be one or two) but you can get evo mounts to attach your maggies to v brake luggs.

  7. Rear disc on the scull? I don't like either, they look a little toyish, and the 'scull' front remineds me of the zona zips front, just doesn't look good. The master looks even worse. Horrible looking frame, the front of the graphics looks a little gothy, and i suppose it should go well against a black frame but the blue on the onza throws everything off. The forks just look like they've been scratched, like someone trying to respray his forks but given up a quarter of the way in. Oh and what'd the deal with that little rider logo getting thrown in everywhere?
  8. Yeah, http://www.observedtrials.net/ is where most of the usa riders hang out. It's divided up into areas of the country too. I'm in Duluth MN, we have local competitions that are pretty small, organised by a guy here. My bike was 2nd hand, bought it off a guy when i was living in the UK, but buy parts here now as they're cheaper. Got my frame from http://midwestbiketrials.com.
  9. Shorter frames are generally better for maneuverability. However longer frames are better for getting more leverage for gaps and side hops and such. Having a long or short frame depends on personal preference, not whether your riding street or not aural, however people who ride street (people who go for big gaps and such) tend to get longer bikes, and people who ride comps get shorter bikes so they can throw them around the section. What i would try do is get a bike around 1000 - 1010 WB and go from there. Short bikes are generally easier to learn on.

    That's fair enough i suppose. I had a little trouble with chain tugs, and cams without teeth. I don't know why, really they both should hold the wheel fine, but only cams with teeth is the only thing I've been happy with. They hold the wheel wherever you set them.

    No, it's the opposite. The chain stay length is determined by the lengths of the links in the chain at 18:12 gearing (hence why you can't have a 362 CS length, and a 363CS length frames). Slamming your wheel up against the dropouts on one frame might alter the CS length than on another frame when both frames have the same CS length, as it depends on the length of the dropout. What will change the geo is if you like your chain really tight or really slack, but it'll only effect it slightly. How do you even get a good tension on the chain? Have you ever used toothed cams?
  16. To be frank, it would be a good idea, FS and WTD was split up into 2 parts to help reduce the amount of topics in one forum, problem is most of the topics were FS topics anyway. It would help further, and people looking for trials parts won't have to sift through shoes and ipods and crap.

    Splitters

    There's never been any good reason to have one. The only thing they do is help bring the pads toward the rim more evenly, which tends to give the brake more bite and a better feel. However in trials hold is more important, which the splitter has 0 effect on. On the downside, you have the initial cost, extra weight, more places your break can leak from, very fiddly to set up, harder to bleed and in the case your having it's probably easier to damage. I personally wouldn't bother with another, however, if your hoses are all set up for one it might be easier, than to re rout your hosing.
