Hey, after boshing my mech it broke, so i have made one, its basically a 6mm plate of aluminium shaped to suit. i have then put a hole in for the axel bolt, one for the jocky wheel post and a slot so that the chain tension can be adjusted. it is attached to my hanger and also by the axel bolt. the jocky wheel is held on by a 10mm stainless steel bar with an M6 thread to screw it on tis allows the chain line to be adjusted left to right. It has 2 adjustments, chain line and chain tension. take a look see what you think. I am going to make a sprung one with 2 jocky wheels soon which should be better any suggestions, or comments to improve?

Ok, well if this doesnt work maybe you could get a singlespeed chain tensioner and a mech saver if you are bothered about boshing it. i made my own, it realy wasnt hard, i will post some pics. Moza

Hey, is there any sort of chain tensioner on your bike?, what is the chain tension? what is the chain line like? what state is the cog you use in, how worn is it? i would recomend getting a single cog on the rear and some spacers, this will sort a chain line problem. Moza

Hi, you could either bend the spings a little, make sure you bend them evenly though. or you yould clean it out with a bit of brake cleaner and spray a little silicone lubricant spray, or wd40 whatever you have to hand. Moza

I run a grind, i have found that a rim will only last as long as you let it, if you run your tyres soft and land hevily your rim isnt going to last as long as somebody who is smoother, and also how many times its allready been ground. i would only regrind your rim if your brake is terrible. and another option is to get some diffrent pads that work on dead grinds if you are woried about your rim colapsing. moza

I would rather ride natural by far, its so much more fun. And it also pushes you to try new moves to tackle different obstacles. unlike street TGS Moza

Hi, i have just got a from freewheel on my stock, and moving from 24 engagements upto 108 is amazing, if the acs freewheel is 18 tooth there will be no change in gear ratio. but it aldepends weather your rear rim is dead , but having a handfull of engagments has definatly improved me Moza

Hi, As many people said the 06 echo rim was poor, i have had my new 07 rim on for nearly 3 weeks its mint. i have heard from many people it is stronger than try-all rims. but i would definatly get one Moza

HI The best workshop tip i can give you is put everything that you use back in its home. then next time you come to use it you dont have to spend half a hour looking for it makes for faster repairs. moza

Hi, You will find in the wet that smooth rims and tar is bad, using good pads on a nice sharp grind is amzing, i am testing some pads for Ali C and they have better hold in the wet than they do in the dry. but i would recomend koxx green pads or rock pads hope this helps moza

I run a un52 shimano in my bike and its about 1 1/2 years old, it cost me about £13. but it depends on the shell width(usually 68 or 72 mm) and the one you already have in your bike, you will probly want the next axel size up in the same shell size. but i have never broken a shimano bb so there is no worrys. i have ran single speed on every 26" i have had apart from my jump bike, and i have just recently made my own single speed tensioner. moza

Hi, My mate has snapped about 4 square taper bb's in the space of around 3 months but dont worry he is about 6.5". i run square taper at the moment but i am just switching to isis, i would say go for isis if you have the money and like dan says they can also round of. I would rather have weak bearings knowing my cranks will not strip. Moza

By the sounds of it its chian suck, like you say getting a wider bottom bracket will help but it can still happen. I saw once a device witch stops chain suck but i cannot remember where , if you find out what bb is in your bike you could ask a local bike shop to put a wider one in. shimano or fsa are fairly good bottom brackets for the money. Hi Sam, It would seem that there is a chain line problem, you could either get a wider or narrower bottom bracket or use single speed set up, this will let you move the rear sprocket to get a suitable chain line. but that would mean the end of gears if you have any . Maybe post a pic of where the chain is rubbing. Hope this helps, Moza
