  1. Fair enough, yeh, the big un might be too heavy, but the buld sure aint and neither is the hadley
  2. And if he still dont beleive me http://www.hopegb.com/voir_RHBU32H135S12.html
  3. Did someone say that hope dont do 135mm x 12mm? I might have misread..... but anyhow, ive got one here with me now, its a bulb, and hadley do them as well, ive run them before.... mike
  4. If its been rewelded properly and you then get it heat treated properly i cant see any reason why it wont be as strong as it was new...Depending on the crack though an engineer might suggest that you have a small plate or gusset as you call it put over it to stop the original crack spreading any further. Your best bet is too have a look through the yellow pages for a good engineer, theyl be able to have a look and tell you whats the best plan of action. Im not really sure on price for heattreating it as ive only got experience with large batches been done at once, it wouldnt be too expensive i dont think though. mike
  5. Problem with a frame like that is that different areas of the frame will be designed to take more stress etc. So if you whack a gusset in one place, it might strenghten that area up but then transfer a greater force onto a weaker part of the frame making it crack somewhere else..... Also, if you get it rewelded, make sure you send it away for heat treating again, welding alloy seriously weakens it mike
  6. Clive leeson gave me a hope C2 lever on a magura hs33 to try out years ago, its been done loads of times, yes it increases the breaking power of the magura although it does put more strain on the frame... booster sorted that though. The new mini levers wont work mike
  7. Fox all the way if you cant get a warranty. Ive run pretty much every shock going at some point, had an avalanche on my brooklyn, romic on the PDC, 5th in a balfa, dhx in various frames, even the old rockshox thing in my old giant and then i had a curnutt in a foes mono for a while. The dhx blew the lot out of the water based on performance/price/useability etc. Im running 40s now as well, i think fox pretty much have sus nailed now. mike
  8. Well r lass just read this with me and she says a girl would rather be seen in the fiesta st than the audi If it were me, id probs go the audi route out of the 2. The beemer is going to be an old car isnt it? mike
  9. Just off junction 37 in dodworth. Help in what? lol, im a little rusty to say the least haha. mike_4255@hotmail.com cheers
  10. Im at uni in sheff, just live up the rode in barnsley. Mike Orange zero About 5, but i stopped riding for about 4 years to race dh, just got back into it Street, Wharncliffe craggs
  11. Im not sure really, has he changed it too just a normal mount? I know when i bought it it was something like 50 quid extra. At the time he said the reason for puttin it inside both stays was to take the strain that a disc puts on that part of the frame away, i think pace got around it by puttin a reinforcing bar betweem the upper and lower stays, might be wrong though... mike
  12. I got excited when i saw that pace, was going to bid..... But surprise surprise, its been rewelded! That leeson on ebay is mine, go on, you no you want to
  13. Nicest frame ever, im going to buy one as soon as i find one that hasnt been re-welded lol. They were prone to cracking on the lower stays if i remember right
  14. Ive no experience with the bb7 but what i would say is that from riding dh, the hopes really suck, even the 6pot ones, i know loads of people who forked out for them and they just arent reliable at all, in france they were over heating and allsorts. The majority of people i ride dh with have switched to juicy7s, the avids seem to be miles ahead of hope fir modulation and power, they dont heat up as much either. Ive gone well off hopes and will only run avids or hayes now.... cheers mike
  15. yeh, i remember seeing the orange at the bike show years ago, it was only a proto back then, but it was really nice. Ithink kirs leeson had something to do with developoing those in the early stages as well. Adam, funnily enough, ive got that exact same bike as yours in your sig in my garage, looking a bit worse for wear though, really nice bikes though. cheers mike
  16. Cheers for the advice. Im from barnsley. Basically, the leeson is a really nice bike, but it kinda goes back to my days when i was into competing and i really cant see myself getting back into that, i rode comps for about 4 years and just got a bit sick of certain aspects of it if you get me, im just wanting to build up a bike that is basically just a small normal mtb to ride street/natural stuff and do the odd comp on! For some reason, i always have liked the orange hardtails, think its the mono downtube or something lol cheers mike
  17. Hey all. I quit ridin trials about 4 years ago because i got serious about my downhill. Id ridden it for about 6 years previuos to that, this is really the first time ive even looked at anything remotely trials in about 4 years. Wow, things have really changed, new bikes n all, the ridings really progressed. I used to ride the tykes trials, huddersfield falcons, and some of those comps held by the scunthorpe trials club. Are all of these still running or did they bite the dust a while back? Ive just bought an orange zero frame to build up because im going to sell my leeson, any tips on what forks will be best for that frame? im thinkin the aston ones? cheers mike
