  1. Thats the beast of the east frame, I think later after that Aston was riding a much more trials orientated frame. I have loads of pics in an old MBUK mag, but I do not think Canondale ever made the frame he actually rode with the better geometry? Just found this pic of the frame I am thinking of, looks like it has much more clearance than the one that was posted before.
  2. Could be way off here but I remember there was as few versions of the replica frame. The one pictured above is the taller one, which I think was basically a re stickered Beast of the East frame? As the years went on the lowered the top tube on them?
  3. 90% of paypal claims just side with the buyer. i lost one last week, the buyer claimed they did not recieve the iem. i provided proof of postage and royal mail delivery note but still some how managed to lose! Ebay is great until you have a problem and they then become plain sh*te to deal with mike
  4. He had a section in a BMX vid a few years back I am sure. From what I remember his riding in that was sick, really smooth and so much style Edit, he is in this video as well, ive not seen his part in this though
  5. Yeh, I have a 203 and a 180 rotor lieing around so wouldn't have to buy one. It does not say on their website what caliper it is. Say it is a caliper for a 160mm rotor, the koxx forks are +30mm that means you would have to run 190mm? So I am thinking buy it, get the hope adaptor to run a 160mm caliper on a 180mm rotor and I have a new brake for 80 quid? Is there logic in this or am I miles out? The only stumbling block I can see is wether or not the Kox forks are +10 or +30? Mike
  6. Hi Guys, After some advice, I just noticed that bikedock are selling brand new Hope Mono trials front brakes for £70!! Catch is they are the Koxx 190mm rotor standard. This got me thinking, I am using Echo forks which as far as I know have a standard size IS spacing. Does anyone know of an easy way to make this Koxx brake fit a 185mm rotor for my bike? I am unsure as to whether this has a custom caliper or not on the brake. Thanks Mike
  7. Nice built, what forks are those? Please point out if I am blind and have missed that in the spec list
  8. Looks sweet that mate, cant wait to get mine built up this weekend now!
  9. Whats the rise on the trialtechs? I am in the process of building my Marino 24 up and I am going to go with the Onza stem but I am just unsure on bars. I was thinking 2-2.5 rise? The echo in the picture looks just right for me with that bar and stem combo.
  10. I like the chainstay yokes on those bikes
  11. I miss my old one of those. If I remember rightly, isn't the seat tube oval shap?
  12. What size stem is that? Love the look of this, I have just ordered a Marino myself and have being pondering the stem size, that looks perfect. Thanks Mike
  13. Can't beat the FSA Pig pro, they are £20 on chain reactions, Ive got a couple in various bikes and they have lasted me years.
  14. What stem is that? Is it the 85mm?
  15. Right, so I used to ride trials years ago and had a Leeson Clear 660 frame. After a few years break I decided to break it out of the garage and get back into riding - which I did. I then decided to try a more modern frame and I have decided I aint to keen. I currently have a Bionic B1 frame, I am after a replacement. Basically I want a 26" frame with slightly more modern geo but that still looks like a traditional frame with the ability to have a normal seat. I really like the look of the inspired bikes frame but don't want to have to bother with the 24" wheels. Is there anyone making something along those lines but for 26" wheels? I have been looking at the Yaabaa 799 but that is out of stock at Tarty bikes and also has horizontal dropouts (I would prefer Vertical). Anyone got any ideas? I've seen the Marino bikes but don't know if I can be bothered with all the customisations, I think something off the shelf is more suitable for me. Thanks Mike
  16. I think that the echo forks might be a little low? The old pace forks(not the straight blade ones) seemed to be higher than most modern forks. Cheers
  17. I tried an m4 on the back of my bike it was absolute cack! It wouldnt even lock the front wheel let alone the back. Just go with V's thats what I am running now with no problems
  18. Yeah, like adam said, its not a big job, I've had countless DH frames where the properly dished wheel does not sit in the frame straight so a decent wheel builder has just had to pull it over a touch to one side. I wouldnt bother trying to do it yourself if you have no experience building wheels, a good bike shop wont charge you much anyway.
  19. Cheers for the advice guys. Yeah I'm running a heatsink adaptor. to be honest, I fitted it yesterday, caught my ankles and thought, oh, thats a bit gay lol. It never entered my head to change washers etc, so I'll look into it today! Cheers
  20. to be honest it sounds like you need to take it into your local bike shop The disc can technically only sit in one place, and that is when you have put the wheel in straight regardless of the dropouts, it sounds like your wheel is built offset too far.
  21. So i recently bought myself a set of plazmatics with the cnc backings. Up to this point I have always had shimanoe pads in my V's, I never really thought of this when I orded but due to the depth of the plaz pads(The brake pad itself along with the cnc backing) the arms on my XTR brake are now stuck out silly far. Im running a 43mm rim which doesnt help. Any one else had this issue? I keep catching my ankle on the brake arms which is getting really annoying! Mike
  22. Just recieved the MK3 Vee adaptors, very nice I must say!
  23. Those superstar headsets are super light, but I have a mate who had one on his DH rig, cracked it within one month of buying it. They are light for there intended purpose, but no way upto trials and DH use. Cheers Mike
  24. Basically, I am a dealer for a company called Zumbi cycles. The owner had some random Ti left lying around, decided to make one of his steel headsets out of Ti to see how it turned out, I liked the idea and ended up with it. Its daft lights, weighs something like 98grams
  25. What handlebars are you running? Ive got a set of sunlines on mine and I think they are bit low, only a 1 inch rise or something, I feel really over the front wheel which I dont like lol. Yours seem to have a nice up sweep to them
