  1. What basher said. I've been running a maxxis minion rear slow reezay compound for the last few weeks, the grip is awesome, but they dont last long at all. I've just replaced it with a super tacky and the grip is still great but seems to be lasting much longer
  2. Cheeky t**t What makes you think that I don't have it all colour coded? Anyway, Im running a prototype titanium headset so the colour is just raw Ti. Thanks for the advice everyone, I'm guna order a new rear sprocket to get it up and running. My new phone should be here within a couple of days so will get pics up then as my current phone is driving me mad. To the guy who asked, the hadley is awesome, I've owned this particular hub for years and had it on loads of my dh bikes, they are the only hubs I will use now. I prefer them to the chris king personally. Cheers Mike
  3. Pics will be here soon I've just ordered a set of plazmatics. Any ideas on gearing anyone? Ive got a derailer and a single speed kit here, could run it in either but not sure which way to go
  4. So I decided to bite the bullet and try out a moderm frame. I've just replaced my Orange zero with this. I haven't really had chance to ride it yet as I am waiting on a heatsink Vee adaptor, will upload some pics as soon as I have found my transfer cable! Ive had to put a rear formula disc brake off my DH bike on, as I am still waiting on the heatsink V-adaptors, does any one know whats going on with them? I ordered the bits weeks ago? Bionic b1 frame Protoype Titanium Headset Echo Hi-Fi forks Avid bb7 on xtr Middleburn cranks XTR rear V Hadley on Neon rim with 10mm bolt through axle Can someone recommend me some decent Vee pads that dont squeel too loud? Cheers
  5. If its in good condition I would say its well worth the price. I have one in mint condition that I paid about that for. You are paying for some thing that was hand made in England regardless of the age. Plus it comes with forks
  6. Yep. I've run them on my DH bikes for years now. I think its a misconception that they are XC hubs, companies like Foes spec them as part of their DH frames as they are immense. The one I have on my trials bike at the moment I've owned for about 5 years, its been raced all over the UK and in france, then recently stook it on my trials bike after buying a 10mm bolt through axle for it. The only issue they had was when they started making the 116pt engagement ones, they just couldnt make the engagements strong enough, so they recalled them all and stopped production. Like I said anyway, amazing hubs
  7. Off topic, but no one on here use Hadleys? I've run them for years and after having King hubs the hadleys are miles better, way less servicing and also cheaper, not by much granted. 72 engagements and you can get a 10mm bolt through. Back on topic, if money is more of a problem, tartybikes have loads of rear hubs half price at the minute! Mike
  8. Exactley, I'm running a hadley rear hub with their 10mm bolt through conversion kit and its the best Hub I have ever used. Its basically the same as two bolts becuase you dont have to take the axle out everytime you take the wheel off you just loosen it, I can't understand why everyone is hating on it. Heres a pic of the hadley kit Cheers
  9. I've raced DH for a few years now. I've used allsorts of discs on my trials bike and to be honest on the back non of them were upto the job. The codes are a very powerfull brake and may do it, but i've not tried them on a trials bike. The Code 5 won't be as powerfull as the standard code though, part of the lever is totally different, the juicy lever doesnt have as much hydraulic leverage as the Code one. Ive just started running a bb7 on the front of my trials bike and Im well happy with it, has way more bite than any other discs I have used on it(Hope m4, juicy 5 and 7) Hope this helps Mike
  10. I've run a 203mm on a Hi-fi for ages, no problems. I've just switched from a hope to the BB7 as well and all I need on that is 185 anyway. I weigh 14 stone if thats any use to you? Cheers
  11. Im from barnsley. I've only just started getting back into riding after a break of about 6 years where ive been riding downhill. I see a few people knocking about on trials rigs. When I used to be serious about it I knew a really good natural place to ride near stairfoot, its kinda hard to describe where it is on here though. Cheers
  12. Nice one, thanks for that, I've ridden at nethermoor loads of times so should be ok, Looking at the address I recognise crossland hill! Cheers
  13. Do you have directions, I used to ride the falcons trials years ago before I quit riding. Back then they were getting maximum entries, whats its like now? They were always my favorite trials. Im just getting back into it and should have a bike by the weekend so will call through I think Cheers
  14. Nice one, well im off home for the bike tomorrow so il be up for riding next week at some point so ill text you ben. cheers mike ps, my number is 07877894892
  15. Yes it would be good for the sport, getting more people involved would be a good thing as well. All these people saying it means chavs will get into and spoil it are talkin bollocks, ive ridden dh and dirtjump for years now and there is loads of so called chavs into that who happen to be shit hot. Are you more worried about the kids/chavs that pick on you at school actually ending up better than you?
  16. Nice one! I havent got my bike yet either, but i only live in barnsley so il probs gets it next weekend anyway so im defo up for some riding then, pm me you number or something and ill let you know when i have my bike
  17. As it says im at sheff hallam uni and was wondering if theres any other riders at the uni, the uni club are pretty pants with not been very organised. Im currently living in the trigon, anyone near here? cheers
  18. Danger boy make really nice levers, not sure what theyre like for trials as dh is my thing, look on www.balfa.co.uk
  19. Leisure lakes own 24seven i think, thats why they have them instock
  20. http://discount-poolsupplies.com/tp_xgames06.wmv not exactly trials, but woooooah mike
  21. Hayes have done those for years, i used to run that on my tomac dh bike a few years ago. to be honest its pretty pointless, in the mtb world everyones trying to develop new standards, so what one company thinks is the standard another company claims isnt because what they do is. Its just another ball ache really lol
  22. They both run dot 4.1 anyway i think.....Im thinking it might pop the seals off the caliper at some point, but i arent really fussed, i never use the hope caliper anway. To the person who asked, yep, the tpa on the lever does still work just as it did on the juicy which surprised me the most. I can remember Clive leeson once gave me a magura with hope lever on to try and i ran that for ages without popping the seals so it might last a while!
  23. Well the other day the seals started leaking on my avid juicy 7 caliper, so thats gone away for a warranty, but i didnt want to miss a weekends riding. I found lieing around in the garage a hope mini(the older one) caliper and when i looked at it all the fittings seals etc were the same as the avid. So ive basically attatched the avid juicy lever to the mini caliper and too my amazement the brake is miles more powerful than with the juicy caliper on! but with the added bonus of the hope now having more lever adjustment! The brake is now perfect for trials, its not very good for anything else as its giving a very on/off feel. Now this got me thinking, ive heard a lot of people complaining about the new mini trials brake having no lever adjustment, so im going to see if i can borrow a mini trials caliper from my mates shop and run it on the juicy lever and see if theres any improvement.......Hope i havent bored you too much folks and sorry if everyone already new about it, i didnt find anything with the search function! mike
  24. Nope, buy the kit, i bodged mine for a while trying to bleed it without the proper kit, its miles better if you use the proper stuff, 25 quid i think
  25. Well i aint really guna say anything about the geom, but the hub i think could be a bit of a bad idea for a couple of reasons. I saw a guy who had a nicolai hardtail with a 150 rear, he said it was cool, but he caught his shoes on the stays all the time with it been that wide. Also, youl have to have a silly wide bb to get around this problem which pretty much limits you to the fsa giga pipe bb, think its a 100mm width he'd end up using. Diabolous cranks are also available in that width...Ive owned a leeson frame for years since he started making them, i cant really see the 150mm width been to much of a benefit, the 135 is stiff as it is
