  1. I think the Bases are really nice, and with a fairly short (e.g. 60-80mm ish) stem, they ride street real nicely. They also have that trialsy feel about them. However, I do belive they weigh around the 5lbs mark and arnt as strong as others, but then you wouldnt expect a frame at this price to be quite as good as frames 2 times its price. Base in my opinion is a nice looking choice I dont know much about crescents, apart from they look fun! Dont they have the smallest production stays around, at lie 14.9" or something? And a really short wheelbase? They look fun to me, however if oyu were to buy one second hand I would check it for cracks, as I dont know if they are highly snappable or not. Hope this helps
  2. Ok cool. I am starting to get into a lot of bmxy style stuff on mods- would a 221 ti be ok for this? You say its probably a more comp-orientated frame, but wouldnt the geometry make it good for manuals? Or am I wrong? Wouldnt a python be pretty hard to do stuff liek manuals? Cheers, Scott
  3. OK Ive gone through a lot of searching and havent found a single thread which compares the two. So can anyone tel me how the compare for power moves? Im 5 foot 8, so which would you think would best suit me?
  4. Yeh, but aren't they both meant to be really good for power moves compared to others?
  5. Hi, I like Danny Fosters Promo video (if you havent got it you should get it, its insane), but does anyone have any more of his videos which are similar or good? Cheers Scott
  6. How do they compare? Whats the differences in thier strengths/weaknesses/handling/abilities
  7. Are the koxx style hog rims light? Sorry to hijack your topic!
  8. Does anyone know whats the weight difference between maxxis and monty? Also, whats the springyness difference between the two? Im in the middle of buying a pair of tyres too but dont know which way 2 go
  9. wow thanks guys. p.s. that is a GEORGEOUS bike!! Hey Chai, Im probably abouty ur height (I saw u in one of ur videos- amasing riding!), do you think I should upgrade my t-pro 04 to a black dog/mumba? Or is it more for lanky people? How is it for things liek hops to manuals, etc? Or do you think I should just save up and get a monty 221 ti secondhand? Thanks 4 ur help
  10. Hi, This is to anyone who has ridden the new python copy (black dog?). Ive heard there is a problem about them involving chain rubbing or something? Someone said it leads to the frame snapping... Is this true? How badly does it rub, and can someone describe the problem? Also, how do they ride, and hows the weight? Cheers, Scott
  11. OK people thanks for your help. Well longer chainstays (in comparaison to the length of the front of the bike) mean the bike "loops out" slower, so less reaction time is needed to make adjustments to balance the manual. Can anyone who has a python or replica manual it? Cheers
  12. Hi there! Im really tempted to get a black mamba (or whateva they are called) copy Zoo! python frame, because Im a poor cheapskate, but I liek to do manuals, etc a lot. I ride a t-pro atm and i find that fine for manuals, so I wondered how the python rides for street in general? All i know is it has slightly longer chainstays (better for manuals than my t-pro) but it has a fair bit longer front end too (worse for manuals). Do the copys ride similarly as nice as the real thing? Cheers, Scott
  13. Respect to onza for making something new and fresh! They are repidly shooting up the rankings towards my favourite make IMO. I like frames 2, 3 and 4, althought I think the weird middle bit in frame 2 would probably not do much, and could look better either without it at all, or with it altered. Frame 3 I also agree looks perhaps a little bit cyborgy, and it makes me wonder if it would weigh a lot, or have welding weaknesses? Still cool though. Frame 4- nice use of carbon fibre! Great going by onza, and great to see true customer care, taking opinions of us lot into their designing
  14. lol!! dont pinchflat because everyone within the nearest few miles will be talking like joe pasquali for a day or two
  15. I totally agree with that last comment, I find riding my mod that the idea of gapping to rails, etc is much more scary than it would be on my old stock because its like landing precisely on a pin-head sized wheel, rather than landing on a barrel sized stock wheel, where u cant miss!!
  16. Corish, are you the guy on the t-pro? If so, have you riden the other guys monty? how does it ride compared to your t-pro? Only asking cos Ive got a t-pro at the moment, about to have nice spec, but I will be considering buying a monty 221 ti frame or something similar in the near future. How do power moves, etc compare between the two? Cheers
  17. Wheres my ot pi/ oat pie/ whateva u wanna call him? I wanna video! lol!
  18. 40 ps.i. does NOT weigh the same as 40 p.s.i. of air. It is much lighter. Otherwise, helium baloons (which are under the same pressure when the baloon is pumped up to the same size with any gas because the pressure is caused by the atmosphere and the elasticity of the baloon pulling inwards, whcih does not change) would weigh the same as normal air baloons! Pumping up roadie wheels with helium would be far more stupid, because the tyres are soooo thin and tiny, they hold very little air, and the HUGE pressures some of them ride at would be more likely to push the tiny helium molecules through their thin tyres. I just thought it would be a cool idea to have like mini helium baloons as tyres, and wondered if it would work.
  19. Yeah, I would liek to know this too (but I ride mod) What mod geometry also is best for big sidehops (im a pretty short-medium height guy if that changes anything)
  20. Can someone put one of these videos up if they have one of them? Cheers
  21. lol! Ok, I see. I wont bother then. Interesting idea though.
  22. I read something on a topic here the other day about the idea of having helium in tyres which made me think. Has anyone actually tried it before? By the way 30 psi helium would be lighter than 30 psi air (which someone said it wouldnt on this topic), as is proven by baloons- the air in a regular baloon is at the same pressure as the helium in a helium baloon, but the helium baloon is much lighter!) It probably wouldnt make much difference on the bikes weight anyway, but I mite try it when I can get hold of sum helium anyway for a laugh! Scott
  23. It seems strange to me that no1 ever seems to have watched many videos of the REAL trialsing legends- elite trials riders, especially Ot Pi. I hear a lot about him and how amasing he is (and know he apparently set the world record bunnyhop to ledge of 175cm!!!!!!!!!! (6 foot 4??)), but have never seen a video of him? If not, does anyone have videos of the other elite riders (other than the videos of the elite guy which were posted on here the other day) ? Cheers, Scott
  24. Serioously get the onza carbon risers (£50). Ive got the onza carbon flats (£32) and they are really really nice, but the risers are nicer. By the way these both are EXACTLY the same as the pazzaz carbon flat and riser bars, which are much more expensive, but often reviewed as the ultimate bars. Onza carbon risers are apparently lighter than the flats, too. Get some they are awesome!
