lol IE topic closed. ok, i want better components for my pc to play games. i currently have an amd 64bit 3800+ (dunno if i can overclock this somehow my warrenty has ended ages ago?) geforce 6600gt 1gb ram. 300gb hdd i would like to probably upgrade the gx card to a 8600gt/8800gt and ram to 3 or 4 gb, now how easy is this? can i just pull old stuff out and plonk new stuff in and install driver? or is there more? Any help cheers.

ok, i debating whether or not i get a game off there, as i usually like getting the discs etc. i'm wondering on the download speed you get etc, and if i download the game and then format drive and lose game, can i re download the game for free with a key or some sort? any help cheers.

i think ive connected it, i didnt understand the table at first, but i think i took it off master and put it on slave now. its connected on IDE1, and is running, now is there any way i can browse that hdd whilst im running on my other xp one? like if i wanna take files off? just pics and stuff really.

argh its just the jumper bit annoying me, doesnt make sense the table on the top and can i not run both hdds at the same time? cheers for the help anzo, and others

so ive got the IDE on slave plugged into the hdd, i will plug in a power cable, whats the jumper bit? oh and which port do i stick the 'cpu board' IDE cable in on the motherboard? i can see a blue and black one, blue looks longer.

the only things on the xp hdd is a 5wired cable (im guessing the powersupply) and a small cable going to the motherboard.

hmm ok....the old hdd has 3 ports, 1 long with bout 40 pins in or so, and kinda connects half to a lil one with 6/8 pins in, then theres one with 4 big pins in, what do i plug where? and what cable tdo i use?

ok i have a pc from like 10years ago with windows 98. i havent used it in ages and its slow. I have had a new one for 3 or so years now on XP. My question is, can i pull out the 15gb hdd on the old one and plug it straight into the new one? i basically just wanna look at all my old files. any help cheers.
