  1. Anyone riding Bristol today? Or can I tempt anyone out? I feel like a bit of a ride, and the weather looks ok. Cheers, Mat
  2. I'm not going to be out until about 1ish, so can someone PM me thier number or something so I know where you lot are? Wayne are you still using the same number you gave me the other week? Cheers, Mat
  3. I used to do the pad bodge in my Levelboss, before I got a wider rim. Worked OK, there's photos on here somehwere I think.
  4. Woo yeah, Bristol. I'll be out Wednesday afternoon if the weather's ok.
  5. Haha that woman was hilarious. Made my day (Y)
  6. I'll turn up if it's not raining tooooo much at about 2 pm. Can someone PM me thier mob number or something just so I can check where you lot are when I come out? T'would be appreciated, looking foreward to meeting some of the 'locals'! Cheers
  7. I'd quite like to turn up, but I don't know any of you guys, and I'm nowhere near as good a rider sooo... If I did come out, it wouldn't be til about 2ish, stupid lectures (Y)
  8. I did it on mine, but it's way more complicated than just turning them upside down (this puts the brake pads too high on the braking surface, so they rub against the tyre). I used the really old evo mounts, without the splined elbows as they are slightly longer, and basically drilled/sawed them down so they would fit into the lugs, and so there would be enough clearance between the corner of the Evo mount and the chain. Worked ok in the end though! javascript:emoticon(':turned:', 'smid_4') smilie
  9. I'm going to Bristol uni on the 1st of October, taking my bike. Be up for some riding  Cheers, Mat
  10. Red, red hub too, but you can't really see it.
  11. Hmm ok, cheers! Is putting loctite, or that plumming tape on the BB tnreads a good/bad idea to hold it all tight and stop it coming loose? Cheers, Mat
  12. Yeah that's why I bought the BB I did. However, the non-drive side plastic cup thingy seems to screw all the way into the frame, so the lip on it is flush with the BB shell on the frame, and it comes loose from time to time, even though the threads in the frame are fine. The cranks themselves also sit right up at the end of the taper, and all I can see looking down is the little semi-circular bit at the end of the taper. Basically the cranks are as far up the taper as possible, and so im not sure if they are on it properly or not...? Cheers
  13. Am I right in thinking its a 68 x 118? I'm using Middleburns. Cheers, Mat
  14. Im going to Bristol Uni, living in Winkworth House. I want to keep riding as much as possible, and so far it sounds pretty promising :P
  15. Excellent, I'll deffinately bring my bike with me then, sounds good. Do you guys know what Bristol is like for bike theft etc? Cheers for replying, Mat
  16. I'm off to (Bristol) Uni at the begining of October, and thinking about taking my bike. What's the riding like there? I see loads of group rides up on here, but will any of you lot be around while im there? And more importantly up for a ride?Or off to uni/elsewhere too? Id really like to bring my bike, but if there's a lack of riders around, it might not be worth it. So will there many riders around? Get in touch if you wanna meet up sometime! Cheers, Mat
  17. Yeah, super nice video! Riding and filming. I know how much effort they both (and Mat the sound man) put into it, and it's come out really good. Nice one (Y)
  18. I was riding for about 4 1/2 or 5 hours, and in that time my hub skipped about 10 times. What can I do to stop it? Are the XT hubs servicable? Will just cleaning it out and re-greasing it make it work better? Or is it time to get a new wheel? Cheers, Mat
  19. http://www.pinkbike.com/modules/photo/?op=viewℑ=575139 My bodge. Works really well I think. Be much better WITH A BOOSTER.
  20. Really sorry about that mate. Stuff like that really pisses me off.
  21. On a similar topic, are the blue Rimjam pads any good? What's the lock and bite like?
  22. Are wavey and straight disc rotors interchangeable? I mean, to change from a straight rotor (to wavey) of a particular size, would you have to get a slightly smaller wavey rotor? As the bumbs on the wavey rotor would be larger than the diameter of the straight disc. Or doesn't it work like this? Cheers
  23. Nice one. Thanks a lot guys, very helpful!
  24. Suitably confused now! It's not affecting the sale, I've allready sent the money off and would be happy with the forks eather way, just trying to get the right rotor sorted B). I will contact Koxx, but you guys recon its a +20? So I will need a 205mm rotor? Cheers
  25. I don't doubt you Adam, just want to be 100% sure on the correct rotor size I need before buying it! Cheers
