  1. Hello all, A few snaps from Shipley Glen yesterday, hope you like. Your photographer and our entertainer for the day, Claire and Lucy. Thanks for the pics Claire! Random shot of Lucy (who wasn't allowed in the pub afterwards, boo!) Mark sidehop to hooky thing. Me with the same, no correction hops in between... ... and no Photoshop on this computer so 2 pics instead of them being merged into one. Gap to hook then attempting to go over but lack of mod ground clearance fail. Gap over scary drop, can't see from the pic but I think it's ~15ft down. Gap up to front, again looks lame but nearly gave myself a hernia with this one Drop to two wheels, then pigeon to rear, then poo my pants and fall off backwards down the hill Sidehop with reasonable drop if not made. Thanks also to Mark for letting us borrow a lens, definitely a lifesaver given the dingy lighting! Cheers Adam
  2. In my experience, all aerosol disc brake cleaners are rubbish for trials unfortunately (
  3. Bit off topic now, but... in a Magura, if the fluid (blood or otherwise) prevents the rubber seal from making contact with cylinder bore (thus 'lubricating' it), the brake will leak... so... theoretically, neither fluid will actually lubricate the system? Thus making water fine to use?
  4. LOL, definitely 32 plain gauge 175s 142g, brass 14mm nipples 1g each.
  5. Yes, add a few drops of anti-freeze (the stuff you put in a car in winter to stop the water cooling from freezing) to the water and it will help a lot
  6. Different state of matter = not really comparable as gravel reduces the friction by a totally different mechanism.
  7. Well it's free, so I don't think anyone would buy it.
  8. Something random into the 'mix', lol, a car's stopping distance in the wet is doubled so water must be a lubricant... :wink2:
  9. 'Engineer' or bike parts specialist? As I said, a small defect meaning a sharp corner was still present, so it's a one-off... It's clearly not an issue as I have not even heard of it happening before. Good that James is getting you sorted
  10. Not sure they do really, I have NEVER seen this happen before so it's clearly just one caliper with a tiny imperfection, which can happen to any product. Hope will sort you out.
  11. Long :$ I nearly cried when Mark measured the wheelbase But it's comfy to ride so that's all that matters...
  12. Full info and pics on the TartyBlog! Adam
  13. Definitely, when we first started the blog it was fine with only a few posts, but you soon realise that stuff can get lost once it grows! Cheers Ok that's awesome, thanks a lot We can get pretty much any XC-type stuff as well, so happy to help there if needed. Ads
  14. Done... any use to you Tic? Regarding the shoes, would have to be special order, if you need some just let me know!
  15. I generally just set mine up so that they're properly tightened, then just loosen the bolts off about a quarter turn each. Just stand over your bike and tweak the bars until they feel 'natural'. I generally don't bother messing around too much with the angle of them 'cos it just seems that when I'm comfortable riding my bike, everything feels fine. OBM
  16. In fairness, the guy with his guts hanging out actually burst his colostomy bag, was no harm to anyone and was just some mental tramp. That guy who got barred was just one thing in 2-3 days of people being dicks too. Only one incidence of kiiinda violence in 3 1/2 years = alright with me
  17. New blog post... quality photo-age.
  18. Email reply to someone asking about the loudest freewheel: The noise of a freewheel varies a lot depending on weather conditions, setup, how it's maintained etc. so it's difficult to put up a 'noise rating' on the website without some people feeling misled. In our experience the Tensile 96 is the loudest.
  19. Mod forks. Ah, looks like we've sold out, will change that then, cheers!
  20. Aah, mine aren't 'FR', that's where the difference may be? They are marked as 2.25" as you said though, my bad!
  21. What's the difference? Ping pong a foot wider?
