  11. hey every one! just got in from todays tyketrial at back cowm quarry.first ever comp but i found it solid.tried to grit my teeth an get on with it but ended retiring, lol a massive thanks goes out to waynio who was spot on all day long!!if youre wandering who i am waynio its the daft geordie who took a closer look at the ground on section 7 on my adamant, lol.there was some spot on riding being done by all and a massive amount of talent being shown out there!so big props out to all the guys an gals who rode today! i entered in intermediate but ended getting four 5s in a row and one clean.first comp though an it can only get better.still enjoyed myself alot though. oh yeah, the little session with a load of riders at the gates before the comp was spot on to....bit of a low tap performed by mr ali c though sure that would of got the haert pumping a bit and cheers for mr stan shaw for saying hi....kinda!!! not sure what the result were in other categories but im sure mr brett"the beast" penfold was numero uno in my category.massive thank to brett too for babysitting me at the trial too.lol. cheers everybody
  12. sounds fool proof.....then again i am a geordie.lol cheers buddy

  15. KING KING KING,i know dave and he's learning FAST.ive told him loads to get one an finally he has listened. PRAISE THE LORD. but on a serious note,i love my king.ive tried lx hubs, bulbs and xc's.every one let me down on too many occasions.ive tried the new hope one and it is solid as but ive lost my faith in most of hopes products.im not saying theyre crap, they just dont suit my riding style. GO DAVE ON THE KING......now hurry up and get you ass sorted for addingham on wednesday!!! thumbs up
  16. hey peeps, just a quick one.what time have i gotta be at the comp on sunday an what happens when i get there? cheers for any replys. oh,any northern lads going ie further north than york?
  17. just got an echo bottom bracket with the external bearings.its spot on but it just keeps unscrewing on the non drive side every other minute, lol.any advice peeps? cheers
  18. lmfao DAB!yeah its true, people do argue especially when they want to be the best and are put in stressfull circumstances.thats totally justified.of course when sponsors are involved, they want the riders to be the best too, once again even more stress which leads to more confrontations.yeah it is bad watchin someone do a line you've tried a million times over just to prove that they are better.its childish.i ride with people who are 13-30 and i egg them on if its their first gap jump or a massive drop gap.i love to see people better themselves.if i manage a line i'll carry on doing it but anyone who wants to do it to i'll try and explain best i can how i managed it.i dont get into an arguement about im better and they arent.my only argument i get into is why cant I do something.my conflict is with myself, not with others.i would rather not waste my time squabbling with someone but rather egg them on to push their level of riding further.im not a new age hippy or anything like that but at some point in everyones riding past im sure you may of had a fair bit of competition with a pal and its turned into an ugly rift,i know i have.it did put me off but now its all about my sport, the people in it and the whole thing moving forward. cheers
  19. im not just basing it on that alone.i know its old news.so are the other rifts (gilles etc).regardless how old they are the fact of the matter is they happen.like i said i cant change any of it.im sure theres only a miniscule amount of people who are like that. any views are great so long as they're positive cheers
  20. i've just been flicking through the archives of tf and i came across a thread that clearly stated that the butlers had a rift with another group during competitions.i cant state how off putting this is to someone who wants to enter competitions.i know this sport can be really competitive and everyone wants to be the best but doesn't this just hinder the sports progression?if we cant progress the sport then how can we progress our own skills base.i class myself as getting on a bit and just want to get on with the sport i love.i don't want to see younger lads having a rift with other lads.yeah don't get me wrong,i can be competitive too but is this really good for the sport?rich johnson vs martin hawyes(old),gilles coustellier vs tibo(old) and now danny butler and......?i still have people i really look upto in the sport who are at the top of their game (stan, giacomo, hermance, cls)and they get on with it.thats how it should all be!! i know my words don't hold any power to change a sport that is still juvenile in age but i thought i would just have my say like everyone else. a massive thanks to everyone is acting sportsmanlike about the sport i love, hank you to everyone who reads this post and is influenced by my words and most of all thanks to all my friends(dave, ryans, bryce, brett, robby etc everyone from the stockton ride and northallerton ride) who push me to ride the best i can. what are your views? craig
  21. that is spot on advice!!!i dont know if i shoud try novice, then if its too easy do intermediate at the next round.cheers ali!hope to see you there too.just look for a geordie on an adamant a1 swearing non stop, lol.any more advice people? cheers
  22. hey guys an gals!im gonna ride the tyketrial on the 7th in intermediate class but it'll be my first ever comp.does anyone have any advice on this?what was your first ever trial like?im sure there are others like myself who are nervous about it too,so any advice will be happily taken on board, not only by me,but by other first time competition riders too. cheers everyone who posts!
