  1. wow, looks like hope is losing this one.is anything over a 200 rotor really needed,it'll weigh a ton.
  2. yawn...if someone comes up an moves you pallets you just spent ages riding on you'd be well miffed.jumps take forever to build so if you cant jump them properly leave them the hell alone dont go gapping on the things.
  3. ooooooh, thursday,my day off,but a week day though.you'll barely get a chance to ride anywhere before getting kicked out............im in,lol craig
  4. lol,the funeral thing.come on geezers.its gonna be well nice on the saturday.surely all of the mj lot arent working come on everyone lets make it a good un!!
  5. come on you lovely geezers of the trials variety!im the one whos driving brett down so come on everyone.dont be afraid to come down we're only 2 geordies, lol its worth it jus to see mr penfold ride!!!!
  6. hey dude.i went from a ta26(1020wb) to a raven 5(think 1090 an +10) and it made loads of the big ups easier.from the 5 i went to an adamant a1 and i bloody love it!with the +55 it does feel so flickable.takes a while to get used too bit once you are,its the shit!! id take the plunge for a longer frame.ive stil got my 5 frame if you stuck for money.on the other hand you ccould always try a longer stem,i dunno. craig
  7. alright geezer!dude i aint riding newcastle but im riding the harder rocks at the sluice.i am quite partial to my natty.last time i went to newcastle i was bored as hell.i aint going down to the sluice til about 2 when the tides just on its way out. so if nobody turns up then get you ass down with me. craig
  8. i swore by my ck after i blew up every hope hub under the sun an i lost every bit of faith in hope.thought id get a pro 2 to see what the crack was all about an my ck aint even had a whisker of action since i got the pro.i cant feel any difference between the 2 apart from the pro2 is solid under power but i always felt that my ck felt a bit spongey kinda.they are just so simple inside too.im not pro by any means but theres pros changing from cks to pro2s.look at stan for example, king to a hope.stans still running a prototype one from a while back an its still going strong.at the end of the day its what you feel works best for you.i love my hope now and im reassured by how good the afterservice is. if you can try both for a long time, dont just jump off your bike then onto your mates who has a hope because you wont notice diddly squat. hopes for me all the way craig
  9. judging by your riding ali the change of bb rise has done wonders.i may build my bt back up one day an see what its like. craig
  10. emo geezers can go but can we keep the fit emo chicks?i love emo chicks! scrumdidlyumpteous
  11. while we're on the subject of bb heights and lengths, has anyone went the other way and gone from a high bottom bracket bike(plus55) back to a low one and what did it feel like(plus10)?ive got a raven 5 long frame but ride a adamant a1 long.c'mon who's went against the current trend? craig
  12. hey,i've never snapped a 9 speed sram chain,i think they're quite good.you should never join a chain with the split links.i'd get another sram one but join it without the split link using a decent chain tool like the park mini brute, they're really good.alternatively go for a thicker chain like the kmc's and run less gears. hope it helps a little craig
  13. dammit why does porthcawl have to be so far away!!!rode with you on wednesday, was the one on the adamant, anyhow,i think watching you has burnt my retina's and my doctor advises that under no circumstances can i watch you,lol
  14. hey ben, what time you going up there?
  15. hey!me an another lad were up there last week when ali c an everyone was up there.we might be up ther tonight but were riding addingham moorside first. so we may see you all up there. make sure you dont change you mind though mike, lol

  17. id have to say my adamant i have now is my favourite bike.nice, black an stealthy!none of this fluro stuff jus black!i love it!
  18. hey geezers! who rode shipley glen today?i didnt know any names apart from ali c(sorry for calling you ali but the name just stuck in my head, lol) and waynio himself....oh yeah and mr brett p(on the stock GU)! so,i was the lad on the adamant who was geordie if this makes it easier. i just wanted to thank everyone who turned up,rode and had a cracking time there.thank you so much to everyone . a proper shout out goes to ali c and waynio trying to get up a 6ft odd high rock wall,it was insane!!ali you never disappoint with those taps and waynio if you could just stop saying chebs to put me off sidehops, lol final shout to brett for some spot on riding yet again as usual(if anyone saw brett ride youll know how good he is and for anyone who didnt......you snooze you loose). thanks again everybody craig
  19. 60 mph is soo possible.when i worked at halfords we set up some rollers an a speedo and just went for it.i managed 70mph.....to flat because the rolling road fell over ! however indoors on a roller there is no wind at all which is a massive underlying factor.at those sort of speeds your legs are spinning out of control at ridiculous speeds!
  20. so instead of mounting the tensioner on the dropout you mount it on the fun bolt itself?
  21. its just that if i unscrew it so the all the thread is still in the axle i cant remove the wheel because how fat the bolt head is.the threaded part of the bolt is way fatter than the width of the drop out.its a total arse this one.
  22. hey,any other ideas anybody?
  23. lol,um.....no.cheers for trying to help but a proper suggestion with a safe answer to the problem would be magnificent.as far as the mech idea goes i'd have the same problem removing the wheel.i aint sacrificing my rohloff for gears...no way!it works far to well.
  24. lol,ive never had a puncture for ages but saying as a grind dont last forever and i dont have a van or a cycle rack the wheel is in and out more times than a fat chick in a chip shop!
  25. already tried screwing it out like that but the threads are fatter than the drop out is and it just pulls the frame apart.cheers anyway though.any other suggestions anyone?
