  1. for a good 26" beginner bike that is fairly light i would get a onza t raptor they are a really good beginners bike i used to have one before i changed to 20" it was a really nice bike aswell as being light. They are used by everyone even the top pros like Chris Akrigg used to ride one. Or you could always go for a 20" beginners bike because these would be lighter because there is less to them and are alot easyier to ride and throw around If you want one go for a t-pro. If you want to keep the base you could always just upgrade the parts on it this would be and easyier and cheaper way of making your bike lighter Hope i helped Mackey
  2. i dont think you should get the new echo hub because they have recently been put into repair because people have been blowing them up within the first week of riding go for a echo fixed or a onza t master fixed hub with an eno but if you are looking for the ultimate save the extra bit of money up and get a profile If i was you i would get a profile because they look, sound and perform really well. Cheers Mackey
  3. You can either use anti freeze or put the orginal magura fluid back in to put antifreeze in put about a quarter of the syringe full of anti freeze and then the rest water and bleed through as normal. You should change your brakes to antifreeze or fluid because it can ruin the seals etc on the maguras Cheers Mackey
  4. could you do that pic with black frame, forks and red stickers and components please thanks mackey
  5. It might be that your freewheel is lose but if the man at the bike shop said it isnt it probably isnt. Front Freewheels float they are supposed to it is the way the bearings are and work
  6. Ebay is the only place you will find them avalible now Cheers Mackey
  7. You should get a magura for the rear because it is not necessery on the front unless you are going for big to nose moves. If you can try and get hold of an 04 rear magura because these are alot better than the 05 the only place that is still avalible to get them from is ebay if you really dont want the hassle of ebay etc. Go for a 05 from www.chainreactioncycles.com because i believe they are the cheapest place for them.I recommend that with the spare money from not buying a front brake you get some after market pads the best ones for this i think are ZOO! because they are a good all round pad for use on both smooth and grinded rims. Then if you still have some spare money after this i reccommend you get a bleed get for those split hoses that you get wuite alot as a beginner. Hope ive helped Cheers Mackey
  8. Nice the only bit i dont like is the colour scheme i am not a big fan of gold parts because i think it makes it look tacky and over the top but it is a personal opinion. If i got a 26" which i am thinking about i was thinking about getting one of them so please post how it rides etc Cheers Mackey
  9. i rode a stock the same one as you a T-raptor and i felt like a change to a onza T-bird and it has made alot of difference to my riding i reccommend you change

  12. I want a new hub but i am not sure wether to go for a Profile or a Chris King?? ive heard that Chris Kings need alot of maintance to keep them running well is this true?? Do Chris Kings skip alot? Thanks in advance for all the advice Cheers Mackey
  13. basically practice makes perfect so ride whenever you can i have been riding just under two years and am always out on my bike. the other good way to get better is to ride with peole better than you they get you more motivated and etc to ride harder and better Cheers Mackey
  14. my friend has a GU 20" long it rides really nice,it sidehops easily and still fairly manoveourable even though it is a long frame. The only problem i found was that it hurt my back when riding it for a while but that may be because i am used to riding a short bike. i wouldnt get a XTP they are overpriced i would say either get a GU typhoon or a Zoo if you are looking for a long bike. Cheers Mackey
  15. Zoo pads on a smooth rim cant go far wrong they also work well with grinds
  16. i am one of those riders in St Neots maybe you should come and ride St Neots one time
  17. i didnt think the echo rims fit on profiles because of the amount of spoke holes. thanks for all the feedback keep them coming Cheers Mackey

  20. good vid good progression Well done that is a nice bike, i have never seen one of them before, it looks very thin. all in all good riding for 5 months i wish i was that good in 5 months. keep it up Cheers Mackey
  21. Well it is martyn ashtons company so it is bound to be quite good because he has been around for a while and has probably rode a fair few bikes to no what rides good and what rides bad. I like the bike it looks different and is in nice colours. Its a shame it is only two bolt mounts because that is the only part that lets the bike down you should try the evo mounts but you might not like them i felt they were spongy or you could just run v brakes. Cheers Mackey
  22. I am thinking of getting a new rear wheel i am not sure what to get though i would like a profile is this worth the money? But im not sure and also dont have a clue about what rim to get all help and advice will be appreicated Cheers Mackey
  23. This sounds similar to a problem i had. What i had done was ripped the threads out of the star nut to fix this problem go to your local bike shop and ask for a new star nut these are about £3 and to fit it you knock your old one out with a screw driver then hit the new one in about 50mm and see if this fixes it, if not im not sure whats wrong sorry. Cheers Mackey
  24. It really depends on what sort of riding you are doing if you do alot of street riding go for the maxxis creepy crawlers (i recently got a pair and they grip well on the edge of things)But if you are a natural rider go for the Try-All tyres. Both are really good sets of tyres and will work will on any terrain you can get both sets from Tartybikes. The Try-All tyres being a bit more pricey at £54 and the Creepy Crawlers at £38
  25. i use a 165mm find them alot nicer than longer cranks
